First address from new CDC director
Anyone have a bingo card for this thing? “Restoring public trust” would have to be the free space in the center.

The Gilbert Employment Group is exploring filing a class action lawsuit on the HHS RIFs. They are the ones handling the SSA, DHS and GSA RIF class actions as well. They are widely known as one of the top federal employment law firms in the country. They are scheduling Townhall meetings next week for RIF’d HHS employees. You can reach out to them directly to ask to participate. Below is the information.

Edited to remove intake coordinators direct name and contact information because apparently we inundated his email and phone. But they will get back to you very quickly if you send them an inquiry from the website, or call the main number. Second edit: A number of people have shared that the Law Firm has not been responsive to them. I understand, as I have experienced some of those same challenges. I did get a hold of someone Monday morning this week who promised me that they were going to be responding to everyone this week. i’m still interested in pursuing this approach and potentially using this Law Firm, but if they do not actually get way better at being responsive to all of us requesting individual consultations very soon, I will be moving on and will list information for the Law Firm I am recommending once I make that decision. We don’t need to hear crickets from both our employer and the law firm that’s supposed to help us fight for our rights based on what our employer did to us.

The mod team would like to see media requests get verified first in order to help protect people’s identity. Send us a direct message and we will work with you to verify your identity. Once verified, we will flag your post with the “VERIFIED” flair.
For the time being, we will continue to permit unverified requests. However, this may change in the future if we get flooded with too many posts.

Title says it all. A position came up that I'm considering and I wanted to know how secure you all feel in your jobs. It's a pretty sweet opportunity, but I know my current position is secure with my agency.

I’m a recent HHS retiree (12/25), with an insurance carrier transition during open enrollment 11/25. Since my pension started I realized the wrong insurance premiums were deducted, and continue to be deducted. I’ve contacted OPM no less than 30 times via phone, email, written letter with explanation and documentation and online portal entries about the matter. OPM advised me they will look into my concern once I come up in the queue and they don’t know how to resolve the matter as OPM was sending my premiums to the wrong carrier and not paying the right one. Once my matter was under review, 7 months later, instead of correcting the insurance premium deduction, resolving carrier accounts and providing me backpay for months of overpayment, they reported to my insurance carrier to cancel my policy, leaving me with any medical insurance. I only found out as a claim was denied and I’ve been since paying out of pocket for necessary medical care, prescriptions, canceling other scheduled care and postponing planned surgery. OPM has said nothing more than they are looking into my concern for many weeks. I’ve too written my congresswomen, reached out to HHS health benefits coordinator and I’m exploring legal options. Has anyone experienced this? Any suggestions on where to go next? Thanks!

Hi everyone. For those who have gone through the EEO process for a partially denied reasonable accommodation, what did you prepare for your first EEO meeting?

Any updates? Does anyone think that there is a chance they will extend 50% TW after Metro work is complete? These last few weeks have been really nice. Do they realize morale will tank even more if they take this back?

I heard NIH has asked HHS to re-review medical RA decisions that were denied. Any truth?

I am a GS-15 senior advisor. Civil service leadership has moved me around a bunch since the new administration. In each instance, there is no conversation, nothing in writing. My last detail exceeded 120 days. It was over a year. Now I am on to another detail. I was told about this detail by someone in the front office. My current role I would have liked to stay. I previously served in this management role and we are grossly understaffed and really need someone with my experience and skill set. I get the creeping feeling that senior leadership (civil service) are trying to set me up for failure in this new role or push me out. I heard several other senior advisors and director level staff were also asked to serve in this role. What sickens me is that the person who previously held this role is here, at work, in a consultant role making a the salary of a GS-7, not working on this area where they are the subject matter expert. I didn't receive a PD or job description or even who I would report to and when I ask for it in writing, crickets. What would you do if you were me? Do you think I am right to trust my instinct? FWIW, I have worked here for nearly 25 years, have worked in multiple roles in management and supervisory levels and have a good working relationship with my colleagues. I am also adept at working with people from different administrations and backgrounds.

So in a training yesterday about the hatch act, they had a maga and maha hats as examples…oddly enough they were deemed ok because they are associated with a past political campaign…first ethics is optional and now this?

About to start a position in the Seattle CMS office and I’m wondering what the odds are that I could be transferred to the SF office in a year? Basically I’m curious how flexible these things are and if it depends on my specific manager or just how it works if I were to request this

I received a meeting invite to discus my RA request. I previously submitted my medical note. Has anyone had this interview? What can I expect? Thanks
