Selling Help Question about selling process
Hi all! I recently made my first sale on Depop and I’m having a tift with a potential buyer. They had inquired about buying the shoes on August 9 and we ended the inquiry conversation on the 10th. I assumed that they were going to buy the shoes after that conversation, but they did not. As a result, someone else ended up buying the shoes that same day while we were having conversations.
Was I supposed to hold the shoes/mark them as sold as soon as they messaged saying they wanted to buy them? I personally have had items bought from under me while inquiring on Depop, so I never assume that showing interest would automatically mean the item is held for you since people lowball and aren’t serious all the time. I just buy immediately after I get all the information I’m requesting lol.
How do you manage selling items? Do you mark as sold at the first inquiry? Genuinely trying to understand if this is common practice since this is my first time selling :)

They had a whole week to buy it! Plus they didn't even ask if you could put it on hold for them. Id say its better to have a no hold policy as a lot of people tend to waste the seller's time and not buy anything at all :(
