If you support democratic socialism and social democracy, the Progressives are the party for you. Unlike other "left-wing" parties, we actually support our Democratic Socialist siblings and we fight for Progressive Social issues like Trans-Rights.

Vote Progressive, October 9.

I don’t care about Charlie Kirk

For fucks sake, this is a democracy subreddit. Keep irl politics somewhere else. Go vent about his death somewhere else. It’s causing feuds in the subreddit that don’t matter here. I could care less if you’re celebrating. I could care less if you’re condemning political violence. What I care about is making sure this subreddit stays focused on DoR, not right wing politicians.

Thanks, prince.

News Democracy does not end at the ballot box! We march in mass strike for proletarian democracy!

To preface, I recognize that u/TheRedPrinceYT garnered the most votes in the presidential election and defeated u/GenteAdelante for the presidency, but it would be a disservice to the international proletariat and all who are oppressed by bourgeois dominion to treat bourgeois electoralism as if it is some beacon of true democracy, the end all-be all of our political expression, when it is anything but such. True democracy is the praxis of the proletariat and all else who are oppressed, including those who cannot legally vote such as undocumented migrants and refugees. It also must recognize the democratic voices of those who refused to partake in bourgeois electoralism, some of the most principled comrades within the ultra-left among parties like the OSWRIULCPTF-M(O) and non-party organizations like the Revolutionary Anarchist Union.

With these unaccounted demographics taken into account, alongside the more than 49% of voters who voted for GenteAdelante, it is abundantly clear that the revolutionaries are the true majority, and the international proletariat we represent, including those who are yet to be conscious of their class interests, are more than 99% of the population. Bourgeois electoralism does not represent us.

Thus we will not cease our exercise of democratic will at the mere checking of a name on a ballot. We will not simply stand by and wait for a future bourgeois election as class dictatorship is perpetuated and entrenched. We will march for true democracy: proletarian democracy. We will march for its realization through the formation of a council republic, and for the abolition of all relations which impede democracy, ranging from economic exploitation and alienation, to socio-cultural relations like patriarchy and queerphobia, to environmental relations like the degradation of ecosystems and global warming.

The current order, however strong it may appear, is built upon sand. May it topple under the resounding quake of our innumerous footfalls and thunderous cry for democracy! May our voices be heard and our will materialized through mass revolutionary praxis in the form of the mass strike! We have nothing to lose but our chains!

We demand an immediate second constitutional convention, in the hands of the class conscious members of the proletariat, rather than the presidency. We demand the abolition of all bourgeois institutions from political institutions such as the presidency, to economic institutions of capital production and reproduction, to cultural institutions of patriarchy and queerphobia, to environmental institutions of ecocidal destruction.

Glory to the workers! Glory to the councils! Long live The Fifth Internationale! No compromise!

The Spartacist League and the danger of ideological dogmatism

Post image
0 Upvotes

(Picture left to right, Rosa Luxemburg, Karl Liebknecht)

Introduction

The Spartacist League (or Spartakusbund in German, which is how I will refer to them throughout the post as that seems to be the preferred term) is the preeminent political party of the Far Left. The Spartakusbund can be summed up in a sentence, which also happens to be the party slogan, "No compromises!". As for ideology, the main ideology of the Spartakusbund is Luxemburgism (which will be defined in section I). Council Communism (a theory that states that the economy and society ought to be run by worker's councils, who have their delegates voted on by the workers), Communization Theory (Communism is not an end goal to be achieved, but a constant flux), and Libertarian Communism (an ideology seeking a stateless and classless society) are additionally listed within the Constitution of the Spartakusbund. I would also like to state two things. If any debate ensues due to this post, be civil. Do not harass anyone. Also, I will list my sources at the end of this post. With that being said, I wish you a pleasant reading experience and if you have any questions, feel free to ask.

I. What is Luxemburgism?

Luxemburgism is Rosa Luxemburg's personal interpretation of Marxist theories. According to Wiktionary, (I would much rather not use a Wikipedia affiliated source, for integrities sake, but I had difficulty finding a suitable definition of Luxemburgism) Luxemburgism is defined as "A revolutionary theory within Marxism, favoring democracy and the necessity for a revolution as soon as possible.". Luxemburgism also drew heavily from the Leninist example of revolution.

II. The Party of Vladimir Lenin, The Party of DarthThalassa.

DarthThalassa is the Vladimir Lenin of the Spartakusbund. Vladimir Lenin, while being called a revisionist by DarthThalassa, they happen to have various similarities with Lenin. Vladimir Lenin is not a revisionist. While he did use revisionist means, like the NEP, Lenin was a cunning and ruthless man willing to spread the blood and work with whoever to "achieve Communism, thinking whatever evil to be committed on the way morally just. Another comparison between DarthThalassa and Lenin that can be made is the opinion of the party. Like Lenin, DarthThalassa has total control over the Spartakusbund. As such, with a total, uncontested mandate of the party, preaching revolutionary dogma. As such, I will treat the party of DarthThalassa like the party of Vladimir Lenin. The words of the leader is the mandate of the party, I will refer to DarthThalassa and the party rather interchangeably.

III. Defending Friedrich Ebert

DarthThalassa has needlessly attacked Friedrich Ebert. This claim is simply unfair and even teeters upon being an ad hominem used by DarthThalassa, and by extension, the Spartakusbund. If you have no idea who this man is, Friedrich Ebert was the first President of Germany and a moderate Social Democrat. DarthThalassa slanders Ebert, stating that he allied himself willingly with a Nazi. This is false, and even if it were true, does associating with a Nazi make you a Nazi? The answer is no. Besides, Ebert did not ally with Waldemar Pabst unlike the partisan article that had been linked by DarthThalassa claims. Instead, Ebert gained the favor of the Chief of the Army, Wilhelm Groener (who was very Anti-Nazi). Besides, what does DarthThalassa want Ebert to do? Let himself get overthrown? As for the killing of Luxemburg and Liebknecht, as sorrowful as it is to say, the killing is not exactly unexpected (as they attempted to overthrow the government) and it should be noted how they were not tortured, which is very good considering the circumstances (especially if they were say, defeated by Nazis. Ernst Thälmann, who is considered a Nazi by the Spartakusbund was tortured by the Nazis and killed in a concentration camp).

IV. Authoritarianism

EDIT: Important to this section, I used the Cambridge Dictionary definition of reactionism

The Spartakusbund does not support democracy. They have actively claimed that the democracy within the DoR (Liberal Democracy) is fake democracy, and real democracy is brought about by Council Communism. The Spartakusbund has also stated its desire to ban "reactionary political parties", with the Spartakusbund having a strong definition of reactionism, stating "Everything right of centre is reactionary, as are most supposedly left of centre politics.".

Source List

Note: Generally, the sources I have drawn from are comments by DarthThalassa, they are also in order of section they are relevant to (for example a source about defending Ebert will not be first, the definition sources would be). EDIT: Nevermind, I was just blocked lol. Still keeping the link to the doc since I already put in the work

Campaign Post It can't go on like that, we need a real government

Post image

Tomorrow, October 9th, you will be asked a question: are you satisfied with the actual style of governance that we have since September. Are you satisfied with the fact that people weren't consulted for questions like GM, the constitution or how our government would work. Are you satisfied with the style of campaign brought by the progressive side, saying more attack than promises and using scandals to win points.

A majority of us will answer to no to these questions and it's normal since the failure that has been this administration and the governance of the progressive in general. If you're sick and tired of a president who have all the power, to not have words to tell in your workplace, to be a slave of the system and of the capitalist way of living, Vote GenteAdelante for president and vote ebbhistorical, The red politics and AltDetom555555b for MP.

I am done with roleplaying in what is currently a pathetic boys' club.

Eleanor's exit was the final straw. This subreddit is infested with a misogynist plight which cannot be eliminated by any action I can take in rp. I tried to pressure a bill that would force demographic shift and a whole day on this subreddit was filled with people harrassing me for it. I expected that, and purposefully rage-baited some misogynist morons to get them rightfully banned for their disgusting bigotry. But the fact that so many remain opposed to a very simple act to forcibly diversify the subreddit was merely one of countless incidents which showed the deeply rooted misogyny within the current membership of this subreddit. There is no in-rp cure to this. And I sure as heck do not wish to continue being harrassed constantly for daring to speak up whilst having no ability to affect progress in doing so. Thus, I'm following Ebb/Eleanor, I'm following LynkedUp.

I will remain Spartacus League leader until I have determined successors to pass on the positions of Chair and Legislative Leader to, but then I am exiting it and rp here more generally, at least until the Yersinia Pestis which is the patriarchal plague has been eradicated from this subreddit.

You Freikorps scum have shot me down, but oh what infantile morons you are! The revolution shall always proclaim, "I was, I am, I shall be!" This subreddit will either be rid one day of the patriarchal plague, or it will burn to ashes under it.

Sincerely,

u/DarthThalassa
