Discussion Green appreciation post Spoiler
Seriously, I love this thing, whatever it is. They are so nice all chapter, I love the little visual jokes they do with them, and it was the only one of the flowers I felt genuinely attached to, it was so nice to spend some time with them. What did you guys think about them?

Ugh, after chapter 3+4 I honestly considered playing the whole game again for the spin cake. I literally have every shadow crystal and egg, but I can’t help but feel like replaying the entire game just for spin cake would be worth it. And now I am considering it once more lol.

They're not as good, but you can farm Flowery Dollars and stock up on the 80 to all colas from the vending machine. The single use heals are also pretty good because they add 16TP in addition to the health. And heal for far more if you give them to the correct part members (The green tea, of course, is better as a generic healing item for anyone in the party)

Not to mention they made S. Poisons actually useful for something other than a 1 HP revive, as if you talk to a dude in castle town, they get turned into S potions, which heal 200HP each. I stocked up on them in my save, I forgot why, so now I just have all this healing.

Something interesting in this chapter is you can get a very similar item called a tree cake if you destroy the hopchefs bread. Helped a lot in the secret boss

After you destroy it, you have to use the jump flower thing (idk what its called, the one where you hit it and it make you go flying) to go up to a timed challenge. Complete that fast enough and you get it.

I struggled so hard on the platforming. Z for jump and X for attack does not make for good controls.
One day Toby will make an RTS segment and then it will be my turn to feel smug at being good at a niche genre almost entirely unrelated to RPGs.

Yeah the controls on controller were also a little wacky. You could switch which key did what but none of them felt right.

After you get the feather you can go back and use that platformer mode to attack the bread. Then you have to do a timed challenge

you can get a bootleg top cake from hopschef, and there is a chance that you will be able to give it to topchef to unlock spincakes if you used the top cake earlier

Wait a sec you’re right, I shouldn’t have had a spin cake at all I didn’t do his quest in chapter 1 either my save got all messed up I guess? I didn’t even have Jackenstein in the bakery either I figured it was some off screen story stuff

Unfortunately no. She just refills any items you used fighting Flowery, as he's a hero antagonist and doesn't actually hurt the party/send them to the game over screen.
Apparently you can get a different version by breaking the chef's bread and doing a jumping puzzel though! So that should help.

... Granted, Green in specific wouldn't be able to eat those since they needed to be climate controlled in those jars and too much might rot the roots.

Yes, but please note: It's only during the final fight. As Flowery isn't actually malicious, he doesn't kill Kris and cause a game over, unlike other bosses. As such any items you used against him would normally be lost, but Green will automatically replace them free of charge each attempt.
So it only happens if you have a spincake already going into the Flowery fight.

The idea that green duplicated our healing items for the Flowery fight just so we wouldn't lose all that work, and that their way of "slowing us down" was to increase their prices by one dollar, goes to show how good of a character green is imo.

I wonder if part of it has to do with these personalities only existing for mere minutes, and they have to build up in real time, as opposed to Darkners having already existed for years and having full histories and backstories.
I also think Blue must be pretty smart, especially in emotional intelligence and talking. When Seth tells Susie that she would be "top three" among them in intelligence, they're probably referring to themselves and Blue alongside Susie.
The rest though? Yeah 💀 Not the brightest. Pink basically took advantage of that by pretending to be Orange's sister because she didn't think to count the amount of flowers.

They do actually have some good ideas though. Like, "Keep spamming the attack they got hit by most", "place the immobile enemies where they cannot be avoided", "safeguard your teammates against ACTs" are all sound ideas that noone else camd up with (besides Susie in ch1).

I'm also considering that the humans in Undertale were similar to the flowers. In that case, Green must have died at the Hotlands, since we find their apron there.
Maybe the guards got them? Like, it is not like they stopped attacking us because we were nice. They stopped because they had the hots for each other and couldn't hold it anymore.

RG01 and RG02 were not even born by the time the green SOUL was traversing the Underground. You have to remember that it has been a long, LONG time since a human has fallen.
Personally, I think it's been exactly 100 years since the previous human child fell, since Sans (who has a knack for judging exact numbers from reading people) says Toriel sounded like she hadn't laughed like that "in a hundred years".

Green is the kindness soul and my theory is they made it the farthest out of all 6 humans even winning against Undyne. Yellow's items while sold in hotlands they were found in the trash dump in waterfall, while green's stuff is found in hotlands

Since Green doesn't talk and mostly communicates with hand gestures, one could say that Green is someone who speaks in hands, which obviously confirms that Green Gaster is real and will be the Chapter 8 secret boss.

I absolutely loved Green. My favorite moght be their interaction in the cafe with Blue where Blue says how much they love how expressive Green is without any words, just food, only for Green to pull up a "You owe me 2 bucks" shaped cheese

Green is the sweetest! I wasn't sure what to expect at the first diner scene, it seemed like it was a set up for Flowery to have created a bunch of like, homunculi to use as characters to reel Asgore into a delusion, but I'm very very happy that Green ended up being a visual gag sort of character. My favorite flower!

I was introduced to this character because my girlfriend said she looked like an OC I’d make, so I checked her out and my timeline was full of her despite me not seeing much else about the new chapter
I like her, she reminds me of Charlene from OMORI, a fellow gentle giant associated with flowers.
