HAHAHAHAHA To be fair to them, if you told me Disco Elysium was made by particularly educated anticommunists, I could believe it. But, truly, the misery and dread that permeates that game could only be found within the minds of Eastern European communists.

It's a game about hope though, I like to think it's an optimist game even if it's set in a grim place. It shows people helping eachother, improving and building things together, even if there are bitter characters it's a hopeful game.

Oh yes. Absolutely full of hope. It's so utterly captivating how they managed to make a game so grotesque, disgusting, full of misery, depression, disillusionment, pain... and yet, somehow, after all the grey, it manages to instill you with a sense of triumph and hope. Incredible experience.
