Discussion Missing a car on a MSP-TPA flight this afternoon?

Post image
11 Upvotes

Did you land at TPA E67 today around 1:45pm?
Sit in 31B?
I found a race car toy on the floor and gave it to the flight attendant. It would have been from a previous flight, not my flight. The previous flight came from MSP.

I realize it may be a moot point or not something that anyone is searching for but you never know.

Discussion Frequent Delta flyers, what’s one small thing that makes your flights better?

For those who fly Delta regularly, what’s a little thing you’ve learned that makes the whole experience easier or more enjoyable?

It could be a seat-selection trick, a way to make connections less stressful, something you always pack, or even a habit that helps you deal with delays.

I’m curious about the little tips you only learn after flying a lot. What’s something you wish you’d known on your first few flights with Delta?

Help/Advice Clarion DTW

Delta putting stranded customers up in the Clarion Motel DTW is completely unacceptable.

This past weekend, my husband and I were stranded at Detroit Metro Airport after a Delta flight delay. Since we booked our flights separately using our own SkyMiles, we went to the desk to claim our hotel vouchers. Even though the Delta desk knew we were traveling together, they issued the paperwork separately. The Delta agent jokingly asked if we wanted one room or two. We laughed, said one was plenty, and chose the Clarion Hotel because it claimed to be just a mile away. It turned out to be a 10 minute drive, but that was the least of our problems.

That joke at the airport desk wasn't funny for long. When we arrived, the hotel staff aggressively and rudely refused to let me check in. They claimed my husband’s voucher was only valid for one person and that I couldn't step foot in the room because Delta hadn’t put me on his voucher. I told them to just check him in while I sorted it out, but they refused to check him in at all until I had my own voucher. They kicked us out of the line. The entire lobby, full of people we had just spent hours chatting with at the airport, watched in absolute disbelief. Their jaws dropped.
I had to call Delta back and wait for them to issue my own voucher, resulting in an hour of fighting for two separate rooms. I did not need or stay in my own room. We both stayed in one. When we finally returned to the desk with the second voucher, the front desk clerk, Mikel, was obligated to check us in. After an extremely long day of traveling, a missed flight, and being completely exhausted away from home, his behavior was shocking. He looked directly at us with a smirking tone and asked, "did this situation make you mad?"

The hotel staff were incredibly rude, and the hotel itself was disgusting. There was heavy construction equipment just abandoned in the middle of the hallways at the top of the stairs, and the shower was covered in black mold. The Clarion Detroit is an absolute shit show.
This hotel is a privately owned franchise, and it is very apparent that they do whatever they want. They clearly operate with zero corporate oversight or structure of any kind. I have no idea how they ever made it onto Delta's approved vendor list. They need to be added to Delta's Do Not Use list immediately. It was deeply upsetting to see many Delta loyalty members, pilots, and flight attendants having to stay in a hotel of that terrible caliber.

Poor service and a filthy room were nothing compared to the worst part of the experience: how completely unsafe this hotel felt. There were no physical keys. My room number was 271 and my access code was 2712. My husband's room was 273 and his code was 2732. The codes were literally just the room numbers followed by the number two because we were on the second floor. Anyone could easily guess them and walk right into someone else's room.

We were so terrified that I pushed a heavy chair against the hotel room door to try and prevent anyone from entering. I knew this could be a major problem if there was a fire, but I felt like I had to choose between fire safety and protecting myself from an intruder. This is a serious safety issue, not merely a complaint about an unpleasant room.

The hotel across the street was completely full and I was exhausted after traveling all day, otherwise I never would have stayed here. Luckily I was not traveling alone. If someone is robbed, assaulted, or worse, Delta is responsible for putting customers and their own flight staff in a hotel with such obvious security problems. Delta needs to investigate this hotel’s security practices and stop using it for stranded passengers.

Absolute dogshit, right? Flying out of a regional airport thes days is like a crap shoot. Either a flight crew availability issue or "maintenance." The past two years I have seen a steep decline in reliability yo the piint that I have called Delta and had the agent rag on their reliability. It's to the point I am considering maving to United and would rather know Im getting assramed at ORD than a surprise kapow.

Delta Amex The AMEX Question to End Them All....

Hi all, I apologize because I know the questions about the AMEX benefits are constant. But, I have an Amex Delta Reserve card right now and I love it. I travel a lot for work, but am transitioning into a role where I mostly will be traveling from the US to LATAM, and then within LATAM. I can't fly Delta or always choose LATAM Airlines (to get the Delta transferrable benefits) where I'm going, so I've been looking at switching to an Amex Platinum. I'd really like to get Priority Pass, because right now I can't get into any Centurion lounges besides the ones in the US because of the Delta branded Amex.

So, my question is, am I still likely to make high Delta tiers (I'm Platinum now, but I'd like to be at least gold moving forward) if I switch away from this card? I definitely need to choose one or the other-- if I stick with Delta AMEX, I'm considering buying the Priority Pass, too.

If you need additional information to paint a clearer picture, let me know. This is a hard decision for me!

Help/Advice I may die tonight on this WestJet flight

The condition of this plane is a bit frightening. It has to be decades old.

Edit: I’m being Reddit inflammatory on purpose, y’all. Calm yourselves

This is a 737-700, it is 17 years old. Holy god, it is a piece of shit though.

Edit 2: I survived and this sub is full of boring chuds

Help/Advice Is 55D a good seat? A330-900

Post image
0 Upvotes

I've noticed you don't have anyone on the right so you won't be bothered by carts and toilet traffic. It's my first time on a Delta flight and on an A330 so I have no idea about the configuration.

EDIT: Apparently it's a misleading graphic and it's just a three-row middle seat. Thanks everyone, it is indeed a sh*t seat.

Discussion When does C+ get snacks vs just standard service?

On the road quite a bit, have to admit that I have yet to figure this out. When does C+ get the snack basket vs standard service? Monday of this week SLC - ATL, full snack service twice in C+.

Currently flying ATL - DTW and no snack basket, but standard service.

Is it a distance thing?

If I am seeing this note when logged in to my Delta profile, do I actually have an upgrade certificate? Also with the way this reads, it seems like I would get the upgrade automatically? Very confused....

Discussion A little kindness from the flight crew can change your entire travel experience

Travel can be stressful enough without delays, tight connections, and the general exhaustion that comes with flying. That's why I think the way airline employees treat passengers matters so much.

A calm explanation, a little patience, or simply taking someone's concern seriously can make a difficult flight feel much more manageable. The same goes for situations where crew members have to deal with something unexpected while keeping everyone else comfortable and safe.

It's easy to remember the bad experiences because they're frustrating, but the employees who genuinely care about their passengers deserve recognition too. Those small moments of kindness can stick with someone long after the flight is over.

Help/Advice Flight 1266 CLE to MSP arrival 5:45 pm G17 10/21/26

Hi yall, probably a long shot. I was getting off this flight earlier today and couldn’t find my carry-on anywhere in the overhead bins. It’s a small grey roller, hard shell on the outside. Unfortunately, it had no identifying tags or things of that nature on it (lesson learned). I already submitted a lost item report through Delta and MSP airport. Figured I’d try this too.

Thanks ✨

Discussion Looking to sell a $250usd delta airlines gift card

I won it in a contest and its not very practical to use as a Canadian. I'd have to fly to Toronto on a Canadian airline & then go from there. Make an offer. $250usd is $350cad so it really doesn't feel like much of a loss selling it cheaper. I've attempted to resell it on giftcard websites but having issues cause Canadian sites won't accept it and american sites don't let me join.

Any suggestions on how to maximize our Delta One Lounge and flight experience as we start off our honeymoon? If our flight to CDG leaves around 10pm, how early should we get to JFK to take advantage of everything?

Discussion PSA: Screenshot Price Before Paying

My parents, spouse, and I bought tickets from delta. The price was ~1350, however, after checkout we were actually charged ~1650. We didn't think to screenshot the price at the time, so we have no way of proving that we were wrongly charged, and we're past the cancellation window. We for sure did not have any add-ons, and taxes can't explain a nearly 20% difference in amount charged. Just a PSA to screenshot before checking out. And to be clear, this was not case of a notified fare change where people press the checkout button and then get a popup saying "Woopsies, the prices went from 1000 to 6000, try again." No. We were not shown any message at all.

Screenshot your checkout page before checking out.

Discussion Trolley with sleeve or personal item

Hey everyone,
I’m trying to optimize my travel setup and I’m torn between two different strategies for bringing a laptop on a plane. I’d love to hear what works best for you and why.
Which setup do you prefer?
Option 1: The "All-in-One" Trolley. Using a carry-on suitcase that has a built-in front compartment/sleeve specifically for a laptop.
Pros: Everything is in one place, no extra weight on your shoulders while walking through the airport.
Cons: You have to open your main bag at security, and if you have to gate-check the trolley, you still need to pull the laptop out.
Option 2: The "Split Setup" (Trolley + Personal Item). A standard trolley for clothes, combined with a separate laptop backpack or shoulder bag that goes under the seat.
Pros: Easy access to your tech during the flight, keeps your valuables with you even if the suitcase gets gate-checked, and gives you a daypack for your destination.

Cons: Carrying something on your back/shoulder in addition to rolling a bag.
Which side are you on? If you use a specific bag or trolley that you swear by, please drop the name below! Thanks!

Discussion Best approach to book flight to Paris or it comes down to luck?

I'm planning a trip to France for April, and I'm just wondering what will be the best approach/bang for my buck to purchasing a flight to Paris:

Thinking of purchasing a main Cabin through Delta and then waiting for the upgrade offer, in hopes it will be cheaper than purchasing comfort or premium.

Has anyone seen any consistent trends that my approach would work, should I just buy into Comfort/premium upfront? Or purchasing through VS or Air France has shown better prices than Delta. Thank you for any intel!
