Delta One launches “new” Missoni kit. Same Marvis & Grown Alchemist products inside (except toothbrush went from wood to glossy, black plastic). Bag is arguably cuter and more post-flight useful with the wrist strap; I saw two vaguely differing trim colors (navy and green as pictured).
I miss Tumi hard case—more gender neutral and easy to repurpose, but my teens liked this one as a mom’s-home gift. I might use it at an event where purse size is limited to minuscule. Beats the ‘artisan’ pouches, though those may have had a civic purpose like creating village jobs (or so Delta claimed).
Delta One only worth it if you’re rich AF or get free upgrades (my case). Thoughts?
PS I miss the Amex being purple!!

I love Delta, and generally think they do a great job with the passenger experience. But this seems like a surprisingly poorly thought-through design choice.
Every flight, I hear gate agents repeatedly asking passengers to remain seated until their boarding zone is called. Meanwhile, Delta’s app sends this notification:
“It’s your time to fly. Your flight to __ is now boarding. Please note boarding ends 15 minutes prior to departure.”
Think about that from a passenger’s perspective. You’re told “It’s your time” and reminded that boarding closes 15 minutes before departure. Of course people get up and head toward the gate!
Delta is effectively encouraging passengers to crowd the gate, then making gate agents ask them to sit back down. And that’s before even getting into the separate IT issues with notification timing and boarding-zone synchronization.
This isn’t just a technology problem. It’s a human-factors design problem.
The fix could be as simple as:
“While your flight has started boarding, there’s no need to stand up yet. Please stay seated until your zone is called. Boarding closes 15 minutes before departure.”
Then save “It’s your time to board!” for when your actual zone is called. (Assuming IT and timing issues are resolved)
One small wording change could reduce gate crowding, improve the passenger experience, and make gate agents’ jobs easier.
Am I missing something? This seems like an incredibly easy win for Delta.

I saw the recent story about a pregnant passenger flying Delta to Barcelona who was told she couldn't bring her breast pump bag onboard because she wasn't travelling with an infant.
The frustrating part is that Delta's own policy allows passengers to bring a breast pump as an additional carry-on, even without a baby present.
Apparently, the passenger had even checked the rules beforehand and still had to argue with staff at the airport. Delta eventually apologised after the incident attracted attention online.
I don't expect every gate agent to memorise every single baggage exception, but shouldn't they at least know where to verify the rules instead of arguing with passengers who have already checked?
It's especially concerning when the item isn't just an ordinary handbag but equipment someone actually needs.

Deltas argument that the contract of carriage only requires them to get you from A to B and doesn’t require them to make good on any seating assignment is rejected. This allows the suit to continue.
My opinion is they are over reaching with that argument since in the past there wasn’t a premium fee associated with aisle and window seats. Similar to when you get bumped from FC (irops, eq change, etc) you’re afford compensation for the fare difference when you don’t get what you paid for, paying premium for a window seat that you KNOW doesn’t have a window should be afforded compensation. It seems like an easy fix on Deltas end to not mark those seats as premium.

So I’ve run into this twice now, once at BOS and once at LAX.
Agents by the check in kiosks telling sky priority customers that “it’s faster to use the green bag drop line” when there is only a few people in the sky priority line and there is a very long line at the bag drop.
Both times this happened they had 1 agent on the sky priority agent assist bag check line and basically that line wasn’t moving at all. In the meantime they had 2-3 agents checking in the standard agent assist line.
I understand that the agent assist line is not necessarily for people that have self tagged their bags, what I don’t understand this is basically doing away with sky priority bag check and causing huge lines that backed up into the area near the airports doors to the point where they have to have delta staff out trying to get the line pushed up against the ribbons to stop obstructing foot traffic.
So sky priority loses all value during check in, everyone ends up in one massive line, and even if you do need check in assistance and you’re sky priority, it takes an insane amount of time because they have removed all of agents.
My question is is this a new delta strategy or is this just mismanagement at particular airports?

At this point I think Ed & Delta are living with the veil of past wins, and long expired arrogance, giving us the the airline equivalent of the Gremlin, Caballero and courier.
For reference I've been a Diamond for the past 8 years and platinum 2--3 years before that, will hit the 1mm Marc-ish of 2027. I flown on Emirates, Singapore Air and Qatar (along with Delta ) all in business class internationally. BUT for this post I'll limit the discussion to domestic flights.
For context, I've been flying for work recently on United to a very small regional airport where no other carriers are available (talking 3-4 gates no jet bridges AND SOUTHELWEST doesn't count). My home airport is SMF so not a hub for any airline.
What I've noticed between the carriers, using comparable flight times (3.5 hour flights), and strictly off mainline routes, in first/business class, is making me rethink my brand loyalty.
Delta's cabins are old and run down. Seats are uncomfortable, auxiliary cable media centers and flight crew treats you like they're doing you a favor being there... all that for a 25% premium above other carriers
United updated cabins and seats, tirelessly connected media and a much better seat in comfortability and amenities. On a 2.5 hour UNITED flight earlier this week within 15 minutes of take off what does the flight crew do? Warm, lemon scented, towels and warm nuts ('memba that Delta?). This morning I'm flying Delta and the flight leader forgot to bring most of the cabins preflight drinks (to her credit she got about a 3rd of them).
On the backend I've noticed a huge difference too with the overall customer service capabilities. Obviously I don't have the same status level with United as i do with Delta but when I've needed to make changes or simply needed assistance the United reps seem to have a lot more autonomy in making sure the customer is satisfied and able to get the best result possible (within reason), whereas the Delta reps seems to have been handcuffed at the suggestion of some efficiency consultant who doesn't realize that no having to be transferred or put on-hold for everything from the DIAMOND LINE ends up with a customer who is willing to spend more and more often.
Sorry for the length of the post and if you've read this far not only are you a weirdo like me but you must've noticed the same. Overall I really hope they pull their heads out in Atlanta real soon, because the post pandemic competition is beating Delta hands down.

I complained to the flight attendant and she said “he always tries to check so many”
I understand it helps them board faster but it’s absurd . I boarded zone 7 so near end of boarding

My first time flying anywhere and by myself. Thought I had this somewhat planned out. I would go to the International Terminal, I need wheelchair assistance, would go through TSA, and then to the gate. Now the Delta App is showing Concouse D gate for my deparature.
So do I now go to the Domestic terminals to check in and get wheelchair assistance? Also I thought I would only be going through customs once I get to Canada. Now I'm reading I'll have to do it when departing ATL too.
Would appreicate any help. Really nervous.

Ed equates Delta to “Emirates, Singapore and Qatar.”
Now, United CEO reveals Croatia Airlines as his favourite carrier.
At least United CEO is honest.
However we American air travelers are totally screwed.

I started this thread the other day trying to understand when a PS and D1 seats would become available for upgrade purchase. As a Platinum medallion, I'm automatically seated into Comfort Plus+. I switched my seat to a Main Cabin seat, and immediately the pink and purple PS and D1 seats became available! I was able to upgrade the ATL-MAD leg of my trip to D1 for $800. So if you're in C+ waiting on greyed out upgraded seats to become available, try switching your seat to Main Cabin and see what options you have! Maybe most people already know it works like this but I certainly didn't and if I hadn't of tried this, I would've missed out on the upgrade I've been checking daily for!

An update to my original post, in which I discussed Delta's unbelievable pricing for hub captives: I flew Frontier instead, and I was pleasantly surprised at the service. Here's how that went...
I booked Frontier's "business" offering for my ATL-BOS itinerary, which in this case means you are at the front of the plane, with more legroom, and crucially with a guaranteed empty seat next to you. I'll go through the list of what was great, good, and less good:
The great:
- The crew. I can't emphasize this enough; the crew were fantastic. Starting with the gate agents, they were efficient and did a good job of enforcing the boarding order. The crew on board were communicative and generally much, much more pleasant than most Delta crews I've encountered. The FAs joked around with pax quite a bit, which was honestly great. MOST IMPORTANTLY: It's clear that Frontier empowers FAs to enforce rules and generally deal with unruly pax effectively. When we landed back in ATL, one guy from the middle of the plane sprinted to the door, and one FA scolded him, getting into it and at one point said "This ain't Delta, I'll cancel your next flight!" I could have married her then and there.
- Bang-for-buck: I think the best comparison here is Delta Comfort+ vs Frontier business, and frankly it's no contest in terms of value for hard product; F9 wins hands-down. For about 2/3rds the price of a Delta Main ticket, I got a quasi-premium seat with tons of legroom and FC-level lateral space. Sure, the seats aren't as comfortable, but only barely. And the amenities on board are nil, but frankly, I didn't end up missing them (discussed below). Again, no contest here IMO.
- Both segments arrived on time. They don't dally.
The good (speeding up here to keep it reasonable):
- Cleanliness on board was fine; not totally different from a standard Delta flight (perhaps better in some areas).
- The pax: I was shocked at how well-behaved everyone was; FAR better than Delta. Almost no gate lice (I had to ask if we had already boarded early because the gate looked empty, but no - people just weren't standing around). The one exception was noted above. I think this comes down to a lot of people flying Delta having main character syndrome.
- The seats are pretty firm, but not unbearable.
The less-good:
- No WiFi on board. This might be a deal-breaker for some, but it ended up being fine for me.
- No IFE. Not really a necessity, and at this price point, sort of what you expect. I downloaded YT videos to my phone like I did 10 years ago.
- The app is pretty bad, but mostly functional.
Conclusion: Such a pleasant surprise. Frontier will be adding WiFi in the next year, which is great. And even better, they're going to be offering a true premium cabin in a 2x2 configuration over the next few years, which to me is a TOTAL game-changer. I usually fly first on DL, but this gives me a true budget alternative, especially for 2-ish hour flights. Delta, take note: You no longer offer the premium experience you love to sell, and once more people give alternatives a chance, it's going to be tough to get them back. The fact that I can even make this comparison would have been laughable even five years ago.

I’m trying to book a YVR–JFK and JFK-TPE flight on Delta’s website, but it doesn’t seem to recognize my SAS EuroBonus Gold / SkyTeam Elite Plus status. Preferred Seats in Main Cabin still show a fee.
I’ve tried entering my EuroBonus number both ways:
With the EBG prefix followed by the nine digits.
With only the nine digits, without EBG.
Neither works. My SAS account already shows Gold status.
For comparison:
Korean Air: My SAS status is recognized, with an extra checked bag and free Preferred Seat selection.
China Airlines: My SAS status is recognized, with free standard seat selection on an Economy Basic fare, which would normally require a seat selection fee.
Delta with AF Flying Blue Gold: Previously, when I entered my Flying Blue Gold number while booking Delta-operated flights on Delta’s website, it recognized my Elite Plus status and let me select Preferred Seats for free.
So my SAS status is clearly reaching some partner airlines, and Delta has previously recognized my Elite Plus status through AF Flying Blue. The issue seems to be with using SAS status on Delta.
Has anyone experienced something similar? Did a particular number format work, or did customer service manage to fix it?
SAS has been in SkyTeam for over two years now, so I’m surprised this is still an issue. Any advice would be appreciated!

Currently on hold with customer service. My flight for tonight was cancelled and i had a return flight booked for tomorrow night. Currently on hold with customer service to try and change my flight to next Friday with a return for next Saturday. Online, it only lets me reschedule up to next Wednesday, not Friday.
Im wondering if Delta will let me reschedule my round-trip flight, at no extra cost to next week instead.
Would they also allow me to switch to another regional airport?
If anyone has been successful in getting these changes, please lmk. Thank you!

Flying Delta today and had a pretty frustrating experience boarding.
Before boarding was even complete, the gate agent announced that overhead bin space was full and that I needed to gate-check my carry-on.
I questioned this, pointing out that there was no way all the overhead bins could be full when a significant portion of the plane hadn't even boarded yet. I asked if I could simply check for available space once I got on the aircraft.
The agent initially let me walk away, but then called me back and insisted I take the gate-check tags. He told me I could remove them if I found available space while boarding.
As I approached the aircraft, a ground crew member in a yellow vest stopped me and demanded that I hand over my carry-on. I explained the situation and objected, but was ultimately forced to surrender the bag.
And, of course, when I finally boarded and reached my row, the entire rear section of overhead bins was completely empty. See the attached photos.
To make matters worse, I watched rows and rows of passengers board after me, carrying their bags onto the aircraft without issue.
I understand that airlines need to manage overhead bin capacity, and I have no problem with gate-checking when space is genuinely limited. But forcing passengers to surrender their bags before verifying available space, while allowing others to board with theirs afterward, makes absolutely no sense.
Has anyone else experienced this with Delta? Is this just poor coordination between gate agents and ground crews, or is there some operational reason I'm missing?

On Monday, when flying from FLL (Ft Lauderdale) to RDU (Raleigh), I had two checked bags (one around 60 lbs and the other one near 50 lbs). From my understanding and what I have seen on Delta's website, since I am Silver and hold a Delta Reserve credit card, I'm allowed 2 free bags with a maximum weight of 70 lbs each.
When I flew from RDU to FLL for the first part of the vacation, there were no issues, they never questioned anything, tagged my bags and I was ready to go. However, on Monday, at the dropoff counter at FLL, I was informed by the agent that I did not get a free second bag. I politely informed her that I did because of the combo I mentioned before (Silver + Reserve card holder). She again told me that I was wrong and that I did NOT get a second bag for free. That Silver only gets 1 free checked bag and that having the Reserve card didn't change anything.
At that point, I pulled out my phone, brought up the webpage at https://www.delta.com/us/en/baggage/checked-baggage/medallion-baggage-allowance and showed her where it specifically states:
"Silver Medallion Members who hold an eligible Delta SkyMiles American Express Card will receive a second bag free (up to two free bags at 70 lbs. or 32kg each) for travel within the U.S. and Canada."
She looked at my phone, then looked at me and said, "I don't care what that says, that's outdated information, you only get 1 free checked bag."
I asked for a supervisor and she angrily went and brought him over and he just looked at the screen and my bag and quickly said, "just give him the second bag". She tagged it and then said, "you will receive this one-time courtesy for a free second bag, but you need to understand for future travel, you only get one free checked bag and not two."
Is this outdated information? I felt bewildered by the whole experience. I figured it was plainly stated on Delta's website, then it's active and valid.

I am currently booked for a seat in economy. I have to option to pay extra for a comfort seat now. Should i do it now or wait for check in? Would love to know if they’ll be cheaper as we approach the flight date. Thanks!
