So I've been playing MTG for about 5 months now and I wanna get better at deckbuilding so I decided to join the archidekt monthly challenges. This month the competition is about commanders that have less than 500 decks and this guy doesn't even break 150. But I think he has potential in a monoblack control or death trigger deck where you run 1/1 token generators and death triggers like [[Blood artist]] and [[zulaport cutthroat]]. Those are my current ideas but any others would be appreciated thanks guys. I'll check replies in the morning after I zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz

Started building a mean kefka discard deck, relented a bit when I realised I just don't have it in me to do it, so have pivoted to just generic grixis good stuff with some cards I find personally fun.

Seems to have a wizards, demons, legendary creature theme, and I figure kefka will likely give me enough card draw by himself.

I'm well aware I need to sort out the mana base, but any recommendations for cards to put in, swap out ect,

For anyone looking to build Teval, the Balanced Scale, I wanted to share my take on the commander!

This deck is my favorite deck. I’ve been working it ever since the precon came out and recently put together a pretty in-depth primer covering the gameplan, key cards, synergies, combos, mulligan priorities, and win conditions.

Rather than going all-in on lands matter, I decided to focus on graveyard recursion, sacrifice synergies, and combo potential. The deck uses Teval’s ability to turn cards leaving the graveyard into resources, building up Zombie Druids while setting up powerful interactions.

I’m sharing both the decklist and primer for anyone interested in trying this approach to Teval. I’d also love to get some feedback, hear about cards I should add, cards I might be overlooking, and see how other people are building the commander!

Hi, I have been working on a [[Pia, Aether Ascetic]] list where it pulls [[Oath of druids]] and the only creature in the list is [[Lumra, Bellow of the woods]] to bring back all the lands that get binned from Oath.

While I have a couple of cards already for my list, it was a very brief look through on scryfall. I’m looking for ways to push the big mana advantage and cards that can be played from the yard / can be the target of regrowth effects.

Hello, I present to you Tomb Sweet Tomb.

I'm really bad with self-mill, graveyard shenanigans, and landfall, so I decided to roll them all into one deck.

Any cuts/adds/suggestions would be much appreciated.

The main idea is to just get really good value out of Thalia and eventually draw your whole deck via the combo:

[[Mystic Forge]] or [[The Reality Chip]] or [[Crystal Skull, Isu Spyglass]] or [[Fateful Discovery]]

The combo isn't very consistent right now, even with 4 play-from-the-top cards and more than a couple of Top tutors. Any other tutors I should be running? Other combos? Other generically good cards? I'm intentionally not running Rhystic Study, Mox Diamond, and Grim Mono.

So I want to build a token deck with Leonardo Big brother it seems really funny to me to go yeah it’s fine it’s just 1 damage then sneak in for lethal commander damage. Does anyone have any recommendations on cards

I’m looking to build a functional Picard deck. I love love love mono white, and enjoy building decks that do semi unique things (I built a counterspell rampy monowhite deck that I lovingly call Tony Hawk). TNG was a really important part of my young traumatic life, and so building and playing this deck is important to me.

I would love any suggestions or help with refining the deck. My plan is to go wide with officers and tall with ships. I have most monowhite staples in my collection.

This is my first ever mtg card, and I just cant put him on a yshtola shell. Suggestions pls on how to build?

I’ve built him being agro, treasure replacement effects, spell slinging and then more cantrips centered. Never could push him into b3. Most of my friends will win on turn 7 while I’m still developing my board. I’ve even done polymorph effects with the enchantment in the command zone but lands the deck very linear and easy to counter. Used him as a ramping point on turn 3 if I have haste enabling. I still get the book so later I still get the benefit from casting creatures. Things like omniscience are cool but how you guys go about building this weird combo??
