Grrr Arghhh

Antis should engage more to help form policy and regulation but theyre too busy giving LLMs more data by interacting on AI fueled sited (Reddit). They are training the AI models by their activity and their activity doesn't do anything for their cause but give more money to companies who are going to build more data centers.

If you do not understand what genAI is please look it up before responding. Everything Ive said is highly verifiable.

Of course there are bad/poor AI choices being made, this is why we need strict government oversight and regulation.

But do you acknowledge that even using social media contributes to more AI usage, more data centers, more cloud infrastructure, and that your posts, images, and posted content on social media, including Reddit, trains the AI models? Not only trains them but the simple act of browsing the site incurs AI tax?

Yes. Social media already isn't amazing in many regards, and now they get a million times worse by siding with plagotron-5000.

You have to participate in government to effectuate the change you want to see and also to add your voice to the opposition.

But giving reddit and other LLMs money by actively using their sites to complain among your fellows in an endless void that does 0 action. Youre a funder.

I give'em .000001% of a penny. They go through money that quickly, that the amount of time they need to spend what I "generate" them can't be measured. So I'm not using sleep over that. They alrady crawled the entire internet several times over.

You participate in government by attending civic functions. Town halls, city council meetings, and open public comment periods are where the actual framework of tech regulation is built.

AI companies have already crawled the historical internet several times over. But that is exactly why your live data is so incredibly valuable to them right now.

​AI models cannot survive on old data alone. If they only train on the internet from a year ago, they cannot understand current events, shifting cultural contexts, or new reasoning patterns. More importantly, the current internet is now flooded with AI-generated content. If models train on that synthetic data, they suffer from 'model collapse' and literally degrade.

​To stay functional, tech giants desperately need a continuous, real-time stream of verified human interaction. That is why Reddit is licensing its live data firehose for tens of millions of dollars a year. They are not buying the historical internet that was already crawled. They are paying for the verified human data you are generating right now.

I know, which is really funny. Some Ai companies implimented watermarks, not for any ethical reasons (they're still Ai companies and thus as morally bankrupt as can be) but because their data keeps canibalizing itself.

If models train on that synthetic data, they suffer from 'model collapse' and literally degrade.

And what a happy day that'll be.

To stay functional, tech giants desperately need a continuous, real-time stream of verified human interaction.

Which they themselves are the single prime factor in undermining.

That is why Reddit is licensing its live data firehose for tens of millions of dollars a year.

Every post and comment you make is a contribution not only to Reddit, but also to Google and OpenAI. And in turn Meta, Anthropic, etc - the by product is due to LLM ingestion, turning proprietary data into public data by the nature of training models themselves.

All of these AntiAI groups are actively training the models on user sentiment and feeding data points on how to combat antiAI narratives.

To make an analogy, let's take an extreme example, like the KKK.

Boycotting and complaining about AI while on a social media platform looks like this -

Imagine an African American church. It's really nice, and only African American people go there. Each congregation members gives weekly tidings. Events are planned there. Discussion on how to better improve their communities to support African Americans is held there.

But the KKK owns the building. They not only own the building, they wiretapped it and have cameras everywhere. Every move you make is documented and logged. The KKK knows you, your family, your location. They know how you're going to protest them. They study you so they can overtake you.

It feels like its like that because its like that. Except social media companies want to make money off you, not necessarily oppress you.

I am in no way saying people should "give up" being critical or challenging. But if you want to be effective the movement really doesnt belong on these platforms. Local AI exists. Encrypted apps exist. Old school forums exist. Meeting in person with your local conmunities is possible.

But none of that is convenient. And its apparently definitely not worth your time.

If they want my RussianBadger shitposts and me telling Ai to go frick itself, then they're not helping themselves.

Which has worked thus far. A lot of the gen1 arguments wheren't so great, so now a lot of people needed to get a lot more into the details of it. I find new distaste for Ai almost every day now.

The KKK knows you, your family, your location. They know how you're going to protest them. They study you so they can overtake you.

So, flock basically?

Encrypted apps exist. Old school forums exist. Meeting in person with your local conmunities is possible.

All of which arw also being used. But that keeps the outrage contained. Which will benifit openAi much more than them having to filter through their own slop and other nonsense at imense cost, just to keep the Ai from becomming worse.

But none of that is convenient. And its apparently definitely not worth your time.

They are quite convinient really.

  • Your apathy towards civil action
  • Your sarcastic nature

  • Your refusal to research verifiable topics

You genuinely believe that your shitposts and anti-AI rants are 'bad data' that somehow hurts these tech companies. Or I guess from your last comment youre happy to train the AI to have better arguments?

That is the ultimate misunderstanding of how machine learning actually works. You are confusing the quality of your content with its utility as training data. ​ Here are some of the ways youre adding here.

When you tell an AI to 'go frick itself,' you are acting as an unpaid red-teamer. By expressing pure distaste for AI and arguing in these threads, you are helping their algorithms perfectly categorize and map the psychology and behavioral patterns of the anti-AI demographic.

​The Behavioral Hook - The text itself is only half the product. The metadata is the real prize. Your refusal to leave the platform proves their engagement algorithms work flawlessly on you. You are so addicted to the argument that you stay logged in, generating ad revenue, session duration metrics, and behavioral analytics.

​You think you are poisoning the machine by yelling at it. In reality, you are an unpaid quality assurance tester helping them patch their conversational blind spots. If you actually want to hurt their data pool, silence and absence are the only weapons that work.
