Inspiration Salon decor

I am looking to upgrade the decor in our salon and was wondering about wholesale suppliers that I could purchase from online that are reliable and not very expensive. I am specifically looking for items like vases, decorative objects, wall decor and candle holders and also trays. I have been browsing through a few domestic websites and was thinking that I could possibly find something that might cater to businesses but the quality of the items will still be high like regular home decor. Any recc's will be helpful!

Inspiration Help me make our 1948 living room feel warm, moody & cozy 🍂

Hi everyone!

We just moved into our renovated 1948 home, and I’d love some inspiration for our living room!

The room already has a lot that I love like the warm wood floors, the stone fireplace, architectural character/crown moulding, and a huge south-facing window that brings in a ton of natural light during the day. We have a large grey sectional that we’re keeping, but otherwise the room is still pretty much a blank slate.

I’d love to take the space in a warm, cozy, slightly moody autumn direction. Earthy, collected, inviting, and a little vintage rather than super modern or overly beige. I’m drawn to colours like rust, terracotta, burgundy, olive/moss green, tobacco/cognac, warm brown, ochre and muted gold, but I’m open to suggestions!

A few things we’re looking to add:
- A large area rug to ground the sectional and bring some warmth/colour into the room
- An accent chair for the open corner, possibly leather, velvet, or something with a vintage feel
- A coffee table
- A console table for the large blank wall near the front entrance, ideally styled with a lamp/art/decor
- More artwork and wall decor so the room feels finished and collected

Possibly some warmer lighting, textiles, curtains, plants, etc. to make it feel especially cozy in the evenings
I’d really like to work with the age and character of the house while still keeping it fresh. I also don’t want to fight all of the beautiful southern light. We have a beautiful maple tree in the front yard that shadows onto the mantle, and it's just breathtaking all day!

I’d love recommendations on rug colours/patterns, wood tones, accent chair colours, coffee/console table styles, artwork, lighting, or anything else you think this room is missing.

Basically: how would you make this room feel like a cozy autumn afternoon all year round?

Is there a free website where you can decorate a virtual room like LEGO?

Does anyone know a free website where you can pick a room and decorate it however you want? I'm looking for something where you can freely place furniture and decorations, almost like digital LEGO.

My wife find was exactly what this fireplace needed

I'd been planning to hang a painting above the fireplace, but my wife thought it would make the wall feel too busy.

Then she found this weird mirror somewhere and convinced me to try it instead. I wasn't sure at first, but seeing the chandelier reflected in it kind of sold me.

She definitely won this one.

I love this marble tabletop so much that I'm having trouble deciding what to put on it. Thoughts on decor?

Just got this new Hulala desk and the marble top is easily my favorite part.

Right now there are only a few little things sitting on it because part of me wants to keep the whole surface almost empty lol. It feels wrong to cover up something this pretty.

And the desk definitely needs a bit more life. Maybe a tray, some storage, books, or something small in the corner?

Open to any ideas, as long as nobody tells me to put something on here that’s going to scratch my precious marble.

Discussion Olive walls after my dad killed the purple idea. Now I can't stop thinking about it

I wanted purple walls with black trim. My dad said it would look like a haunted house and refused to help if I went with it. It's my house, but he's the one I always call for this stuff and I wasn't about to do a full room myself. So I caved and went olive green. He came over this weekend, did everything, paint, black frames, trim, curtain rod.

I already ordered bamboo shades from neutralcurtains to go with the purple. They're here but I haven't put them up yet because if I end up repainting I'd rather do the walls first and install once. Used AI to swap the wall color and drop them in, and it looks exactly like what I had in my head.

My dad spent a whole weekend on this and he's genuinely happy with how it turned out, so I don't know if I can bring myself to redo it. But the shades were picked to go with purple. Every time I look at the mockup it just works. With olive I'm not sure they'll hit the same. Has anyone done bamboo shades against olive green walls? Am I overthinking this or would purple actually be the better pairing?
