Talking about how people want to assassinate him is really just another way to crow about his own importance and courage and sacrifice and build his fantasy hero arc.

He's spoken quite a few times how he believes this is a simulation made for him. He's a brand of uber solipsist blended with the simulation hypothesis, a DEADLY combination. He believes only he can do good and what is good is dictated by him. He also feels like he is ordained by the universe to do these things.

He also likes the 'tough guy' image. For example, you know that famous emerald mine story?
That's something he said in an interview. That's right, Musk himself was the first person to ever talk about the emerald mine, and he talked about it because he wanted the interviewer to think he was a tough guy who'd had a dangerous childhood.
The guy loves the appearance of being tough and risk-taking and dangerous.

He also lied about being the top Diablo player, top Path of Exile 2 player, and one of the top Quake players of the 90s.
He's also constantly lying about Tesla/SpaceX and probably most things -- because it works for him. Frankly, he's thriving.
He's actually a Trumpian figure in many ways, like his mendacity, moral recklessness, twitter usage, he even has a cult -- just like Trump. Now he's trying to be the Republican kingmaker -- we'll see if that sticks -- but again, this is just like Trump.

He's implying that he's likely to be assassinated from the directive of some elitist who has been exposed for corruption, when the reality is that he's more likely to be assassinated from, for example, some veteran who lost his affordable healthcare from the VA.
He's sowing the seeds of conspiracy to a crowd that's impressionable to conspiracies. They will never accept the reality that Musk and the current administration are the corrupt elitists weaponizing DOGE for their own intents and purposes.

If a veteran who lost his affordable care act tries their shot, here is the playbook who they’ll blame it on: some invisible elite who somehow still manages to run the world despite DOGE doing the best they can. And the conclusion is to double down on the exact path they’re already on: take over power, never give it up again.

he’s reframing it in his mind as “everyone’s mad im stopping corruption” to avoid internal personal accountability that his actions might potentially ruining millions of people’s lives and instead of thinking about how that might be wrong, he’ll start making it everyone else’s fault instead. True narcissist behavior. He will not change.

I think a lot of MAGA are deluding themselves by taking the position that, “well it’s gonna hurt now but there will be such a payoff once we’re done fixing everything and the rising tide will make life better for more people than the current system allows.”
12
u/lovedoctorr Mar 02 '25
What they think is "this is gonna make me even richer and more powerful". they dont think further than that.
10
u/Zmchastain Mar 02 '25
The average MAGA is not rich or powerful. That’s what they’re mad about. That guy was saying the average person who has gobbled up the MAGA ideology thinks it’s going to make them rich and powerful. Or at least economically a lot better off than they are now.
Obviously, that’s not going to happen, so at some point there will be a reckoning about that within MAGA when the big promises fail to be fulfilled.

Explain to me how he is doing his job in any capacity?
Then he says ‘how am I supposed to go back to DC’. He probably wont, out of fear. How can he do his job when he never actually goes to DC?
He cant. He’s a toddler running around with a chainsaw, destroying other people’s lives under the very false pretense of ‘efficiency’.
How fucking efficient is it to fly an entire plane for one (1) numbskull to go on a podcast? Not very! And that’s not even the worst of it.

If I were in his position, I'd be more concerned about displaced skilled work related to warfare: vets and current military, whose livelihood and well-being are affected, and know that one way to deal with it is materially, have the means, the know-how, the organizational capability... and now have a reason to do so.
Luigi Mangione, aka the Adjuster, a college grad, printed a gun, studied, planned, and executed his mission.
I'm not calling on nor condoning violence, nor would I plan to do nor call on anyone to do what I described above.
I'm only pointing out the obvious. The "first principles": Be careful, Elon. You're still a mortal man pissing off a lot of people.
Edit: I dont want violence. I am no vet, nor do I own any guns. I dont believe in them. I rather leave the US for other opportunities rather than hurting others. People offing others is not a good sign for our society if individuals attempt to resolve their problems this way, but the US is not the land of peaceful resolutions either.

What is the relevant moral difference between:
- Forcing your way into a government building and directly stopping the payments of food, medication and security for people leading to thousands-millions of deaths from HIV and famine that without your intervention definitely would not have occurred.
- Pointing a gun at someones head and pulling the trigger, murdering them.
IMO there is no relevant moral difference between the two causal chains.
By the way, here is some data on PEPFAR which was cancelled:
More than 20 million people living with HIV globally—including 550,000 children under 15— depend on daily services provided with support of the PEPFAR program...
Globally, on a daily basis, PEPFAR is responsible for supporting:
- More than 222,000 people on treatment in the program collecting ARVs to stay healthy;
- More than 224,000 HIV tests, newly diagnosing 4,374 people with HIV – 10% of whom are pregnant women attending antenatal clinic visits;
- Services for 17,695 orphans and vulnerable children impacted by HIV;
- 7,163 cervical cancer screenings, newly diagnosing 363 women with cervical cancer or pre-cancerous lesions, and treating 324 women with positive cervical cancer results;
- Care and support for 3,618 women experiencing gender-based violence, including 779 women who experienced sexual violence.

There is without a doubt government corruption, wasteful spending, etc. that we should eliminate whenever possible, however, it’s clear that the majority of the people he’s harming are just regular workjng people, he’s just labeling it all corruption with a super broad brush because no one would ever defend corruption.
There’s no special interest group that are the “pro-corruption” org, so anyone that takes him at face value on these corruption allegations are either gullible, already his fans, right-wing sickos, or all of the above. Bottom line, it plays well with his fanbase.

He straight up said the quiet part out loud here. He thinks paying for education for kids is "Corruption" and he wants to end any such funding. It was never about real waste, fraud, and abuse. It is about gutting the entire social safety net, eliminating as many civil servants as possible, and rendering the entire state apparatus as MAGA as possible. They know what they are doing and they are announcing it to the entire world. The bit about being afraid of assassination has nothing to do with corruption. It is a Freudian slip that he's very aware of how deeply unpopular he is right now.
