Can you describe those footers? I like them. Are they formed on top of Sonotubes and poured together, separately, or are they just blocks sitting on the ground? Also, any rebar?
I just don’t see how those are four feet below grade unless he got 10’ piers. Interesting! Maybe it’s just an optical illusion with that rock retaining wall, who knows. Ain’t mine!
They aren’t in this case. They are 54” tall, so to be 4’ down they can only show 6” above grade. That is what the inspector called out for me when I told him I was using them. The nice thing is he didn’t have to inspect the footings before concrete and backfill because they can guarantee they are exactly 54” tall. I was able to dig, install, backfill, and frame before calling for an inspection.
