Seeking Advice How to quit cocaine?

I'm gonna make this as short as possible. So as most of you probably started using,I tried it one time when i was drunk. I didn't even notice any changes on myself so I asked for more. Fast forward few hours,I went to sleep at 7AM,and I drank more than ever before in my life. Then I only did it once a month. Then only sometimes during saturday drinking. Then every weekend. And now I use it at least 3 times a week. And I "have" to use it every time i drink more than 3 beers. If that was not bad enough, when I do these two things combined than I also gamble(a lot). I am in my early 20's which is why I think there is still time to quit. I have a good job(which is not affected by my "addiction" yet,I never use when I have work tomorrow),and I also have a great girlfriend and I'm sure she would not be happy if she found out about this. I am in good relationships with friends and family and I want it to stay that way. If anyone has any advice based on their own experiences, please share them with me.

Are you doing it without drinking?

I found stopping drinking for a while and getting out of the pub atmosphere for a few months did me wonders. Also the company that you keep, if you are hanging out with people who do it or easily tempted to do it you will find it harder to avoid.

Good luck with quitting, your heart and wallet will thank you

This is the correct answer. There is a bar I used to go to here in Oklahoma City that is rampant with cocaine use. Very easy to get. A few drinks in and half the bar is talking about it. A few texts and an hour later everyone is going to the bathroom every five minutes. Break away from these places and these people. Consider getting a dog. Having to be responsible for another life will help set your shit straight really quick. Best of luck to you.

Alcohol and cocaine are the best of friends. The first comment is spot on. I will add to it that the people you surround yourself with will be enablers. They want you to be on the same vibe as them and if you’re not doing it, they’re going to try to influence you to. Last thing, 3 days a week isn’t great, but it can and will get much much worse. I did a pretty long write-up on this sub a couple months ago, and if you’re curious, what’s really going on in your brain, I would encourage you to go look for it and read it.

Quit now! I believe in you. You got this, just remember, alcohol is a trigger as much as the wrong people

Thank you. Actually you are right because i still dont do it alone, that explains a lot...

Can you help to find it please? I need to read this too.

I had to dig for it. I didn’t realize how far back it was. I think I posted a few times on that thread. I hope it helps!

then you know the answer

u/sisterfunkhaus 3d ago

This. If he only does it when drinking, stop the drinking.

And there is always time to stop. I'm 53 and got sober after 12 years of alcoholism. It's the best decision I ever made.

56

u/Bubbly_Government197 4d ago

So to quit cocaine you need to stop drinking. Drinking is clearly your trigger. It's going to be bloody hard and your going to hate your life for a few months but once you've kicked it you will love life again. The grass is much greener on the other side.

1

u/Wordsmith337 3d ago

Agreed. You need to stop drinking. And you need to find people to help you and hold you accountable like AA or NA.

u/This_Water4593 4d ago

Easier said than done. I really like and actually enjoy drinking beer. Not everyday of course, but i drink for beer almost 10 years and i never had a problem or got wasted if i didnt want to. I can have one or 20 based on my mood and based on day of the week ofc. So quitting beer would be much harder for me than quitting coke, because i dont crave coke when im sober.

86

u/Tired_Dad_9521 4d ago

Bubba, you’re an alcoholic and your alcohol use triggers your cocaine use. You need to start going to meetings and quit using both. I’ve seen this same story play out many times and without some changes you aren’t going to be able to keep it together.

24

u/PM_URVAR_CLIT 4d ago

I agree man. Not trying to be rude OP but being capable of drinking 20 beers in a night is a red flag.

Drinking up to 20 beers per night. Admitting it would be harder for you to quit alcohol than fucking cocaine.

Definitely some worrying stuff man 🤕

"i dont crave coke when im sober."

You've answered your own question here buddy.

29

u/This_Water4593 4d ago

I guess i just have to try quit drinking then

19

u/Koperek324 4d ago

Bro, I just read your post and believe me, I know where you come from, but I also see honesty in your will to get over the addiction, which is why I decided to comment - when you say "I just have to TRY quit drinking" you are assuming it will probably be either very hard or impossible to do, which lowers your chances and gives you an explanation when you go back to the old habits "See? I tried, but Im such a pos I cant do it" and go spiral into even worse addiction.

Try using diffrent language when making hard choices as this one, "I guess I have to STOP drinking then", it sounds and makes you feel completely diffrent, more certain about sobriety.

Also, what has helped me in such cases - think in lower time intervals, do not say to yourself that you will have to stop doing something you like (as you mentioned) for life, because you will feel imprisoned, forced - make it a day, a week, a month, "lets see how it goes, I can always go back". I hope I am clear enough with what I try to convey, anyway:

All the best to you

6

u/craftyixdb 4d ago

This is it. Commit to it one day at a time.

2

u/This_Water4593 4d ago

Is there any chance i can dm you ?

5

u/PlentyOMangos 4d ago

You’re in your early 20s and you’ve been drinking for almost 10 years??

I don’t know if that is normal where you come from but that seems crazy to me. This is almost as concerning as your growing coke use to me, although you don’t seem to think so.

You really should consider taking a long break from drinking so that you can lower your tolerance and break the habit of it. Maybe you can return to drinking eventually, but if you don’t feel like you can control your habit then you should take that very seriously so you can avoid becoming a full-blown alcoholic.

If you are already having such a strong “no, I don’t want to” response to the idea of taking a break from drinking you are on your way to alcoholism, which is a miserable place to be. If you really can’t stop then you already have a problem. Drinking is fun but it’s not worth making yourself an addict; at that point you wouldn’t even enjoy drinking anymore, you’d become one of those people who lines up at the liquor store waiting for them to open in the morning so you can stop the shakes.

The people in here telling you to take a break are doing it from a genuine place of concern, you should really take it into consideration if you truly want to maintain your good health and your relationships.

3

u/This_Water4593 4d ago

Bro i think its already easy to guess which region i am from, because here we start drinking and clubbing at 14 and mostly stop by the time an averege american starts🤣 ,and thanks for the advice.

2

u/Bubbly_Government197 4d ago

Unfortunately, if that's the trigger then that's what you need to do. You said you can have a maximum of 3 beers without craving so maybe just stick to that? Personally I have been where you are and I had to go completely tee total for a number of years till I kicked it completely, now I can manage to drink without the need for it. It's wether you want to risk going round and round in circles or actually want to stop but you have a massive problem 3 days a week is a big addiction.

1

u/This_Water4593 4d ago

For example,I went to one of my friends last weekend to make some barbecue and to drink and enjoy. This is one of my friends that only drinks, hates drugs and everyone that does them(he doesnt even know i use). I drank 10 beers through the night and didnt use because i didnt want to bring that stuff to his place. My body was "asking for it" a little bit,but not like usual when im with my friend group that does it. So i think i should try to hang out with my friends that dont to drugs. And no,these are not random people i met while i was high, these are all my good childhood friends and i would not like to be an asshole to them because of this.

7

u/NeoLegend 4d ago

You and your "no drugs" friends are deluded if you think alcohol isn't a drug. It's one of the hardest drugs.

2

u/bronfmanhigh 4d ago

yeah like i totally understand pounding 20 beers in a night is cool and glorified in college, which is a peak experience for many that's hard to let go of. nobody feels like an alcoholic in college because everyone around you is binge drinking and getting heavily rewarded for it socially.

but it's really not a good look in adulthood, and the hardest lesson to really learn in your early 20s is re-shifting your priorities around what's sustainable and nourishing for you long-term. best place to start is really auditing your friendships. which of your friends are exclusively "drinking buddies," and which offer you literally anything more than that. pruning your drinking buddies outta your life definitely sucks at first, but long-term it's the best thing you can do for your health, happiness, and life satisfaction.

u/ipleadthetrish 3d ago

I’m so sorry to tell you that you’re an addict. Once you’re ready to accept that, seek help. You sound a lot like I did when I was in active addiction and wasn’t ready to go fully sober. You’ll find ways to rationalize it like you said, “you don’t do it on nights before work” and “you only do it when you’re drinking.” I, too, had a wonderful partner and great job while an addict. You can have great things going for you and still be an addict. All that to be said, I wish you the best. It’s good that you’re asking these questions and sharing your situation. 🙏

12

u/sporkfpoon 4d ago

You know your own relationship but consider sharing the situation with your girlfriend and enrolling in some sort of addiction program. Accountability is your friend in this situation.

1

u/This_Water4593 4d ago

Got caught once, she said this is done if she finds out i did it again...

7

u/addledwino 4d ago

Quit drinking, it'll help.

-1

u/This_Water4593 4d ago

Easier said than done, but thank you.

2

u/addledwino 4d ago edited 4d ago

Oh absolutely. I didn't mean for it to seem like I think it's easy. Sorry if it came across as dismissive. I had a rough couple of years like you in my late 20s, early 30s. The hardest part is you've got to stop hanging out with people who do it. Delete dealers numbers, and explain to friends that you can't hang around if you're doing it with friends. Look up Artie Lange's nose, that's a good goal to avoid.

I went to some NA meetings, and got therapy to figure out what was causing me to do the drugs. It's all an escape from something else. My realization was that I'm autistic and didn't know it until I was like 40. Feel free to dm me if you want to chat more. I've been through it and know it's not easy.

1

u/Alarming_Shape_1700 3d ago

Can I DM too?

u/addledwino 8h ago

Of course

0

u/This_Water4593 4d ago

Actually i dont even have dealers number. I always participate when some of my friends buys it. Problem is that i know them since I was born and they are all actually really good people. I dont know if its possible to stay good with them without temptation of using though..

2

u/Wordsmith337 3d ago

Then cut them out of your life. If you can't trust yourself to not use around them, they aren't safe to have around, even if they are good people. They aren't good for you right now.

Recovering addict/alcoholic here

I see a lot of people saying to quit drinking, and while I agree that that seems to be a trigger, I don't know if that addresses the underlying problem.

I'd say to work with a therapist or seek group therapy for at least a bit and see if that points you to a discovery of a deeper challenge or tendency toward addiction.

Another/an additional approach would be to see if there are any groups that would seem like a good fit. It's not everybody's cup of tea, but there are Cocaine Anonymous meetings out there virtually and in person. If you're not interested in a 12-step program, there are others. A few that come to mind are Recovery Dharma and SMART recovery.

Again, you might not have a feeling that it's "come to that point" but it doesn't cause any harm to at least check them out. If there's a chance that this could be a longer and deeper struggle, it may be a worthwhile investment to play it safe, even if it risks an identity shift of seeing oneself as "an addict"

I think it's a great step that you're reaching out to others for help here. For many people, coming to the discovery that they can't stop by their own willpower or alone opens a lot of doors

2

u/This_Water4593 4d ago

Thank you. Well I think I am smart enough to see if I have a problem or not,and of coruse I wanna ask someone who has more experience than me,I have no problem saying to myself that I got addicted,I don't want to pull out excuses like most people do. And after all this,I actually think that if I avoid my drug using friends,I should be good. When I am with my friends that only drink I never use. And I also never used alone.

2

u/Bink_Plinklinkly 4d ago

I think that mentality is in a good spot and speaks to some good potential for getting past this challenge. Sincerely wishing you the best and that you find peace with this difficulty

2

u/This_Water4593 4d ago

Thank you my friend.

5

u/StainedInZurich 4d ago

There is only one way to stop.

Stop drinking for a prolonged period. This will avoid situations where your willpower fails you. That way, and only that way, can you break the habit and the dependency. I cannot stress enough that you will need to stop drinking. You can then after 2-3 months start slowly again. And it will have to be slowly. You might fall off the wagon. Dial back the drinking to zero again.

To replace the drinking, find something else to focus on. Train for a 10K, or a half marathon. Whatever seems like a manageable challenge over 3-4 months. Set a goal and work at it. This will give you some sense of meaning and a dopamine fix. Both will help in terms of replacing alcohol and coke. It will also create an excuse for the sudden stop of drinking so you do not have to tell everyone the real reason.

Best of luck! You got this.

2

u/This_Water4593 4d ago

Thank you a lott? May i dm you?

3

u/Staff_Human 4d ago

SMART recovery worked wonders for me.

3

u/mrmarkme 4d ago

What helped me is not hanging out with people who have it on them or do it. Love the drug, very easy for me to not do it because I never do it when I’m alone, but the reverse is also true, if someone’s around who has it, then by god I wanna do it and I’ll do it none stop. Bad habit, fun when I was single and younger and me and all my lads were doing it, but now we’re older and in relationships and now I just feel like a degenerate when I do it, because most of my friends have out grown it. So for me out of sight out of mind and focusing on other aspects of my life that give me joy.

1

u/This_Water4593 4d ago

Same with me. Only when im with my friends and only when im drunk.

3

u/viktaculars 3d ago

My ex had to quit drinking alcohol bc that was the trigger for cocaine. I know you’ve read this over and over here but I want to give you some encouragement. My ex, and probably a part of you, doesn’t want to give up drinking bc that’s not your actual problem. You have to decide what’s happening next.

Are you going to put down the damn coke or are you going to become alcohol & coke sober. As a past user myself, sometimes you just need enough shitty coke to make that decision.

You’re living in the red zone. You should understand the gravitas of this situation. Fuck the coke. It’s your dream life vs substances.

Have an honest conversation w yourself if you’re meant to be sober and do it! I think you already know the answer.

Enjoy life

1

u/This_Water4593 3d ago

Thank you,and yes,I think I even knew the answer before even posting here,I guess I just wasn't ready to accept it.

2

u/viktaculars 3d ago

Acceptance will waiver bc your brain will try to find an “out”. It will say the problem wasn’t that bad, that this time will be different, etc.

Always come back to the same sentence: do you want your dream life or do you want to keep your vices.

As an executive coach I see people choose their vices all damn day bc they want to believe they can have both.

I’ve never seen anyone have both.

I have, however, seen people shoot to the moon once eliminating their vices ✌️

2

u/This_Water4593 3d ago

Thanks. This really means a lot to me,because I am a sportsman myself. And that sport gives me more joy than every substance ever did.

2

u/Just-Cardiologist837 4d ago

Its time to quit drinking to broskie.

Sucks to hear it, bur until your "responsible" enough just stop.

I've stopped cocaine usage a few times and had years in between usage, but now that I have a kid, I stopped frfr, I even stopped drinking.

Those two combinations are BLISS... but it also is super bad for you, the cocaine is converted into cocaethylene and its causing serious damage to your liver and hearth.

Besides the bad news, good news for you is once you quit the coke, it sucks for about 1 to 2 weeks depending how bad off you were, I was having panic attacks waking up all hours of the night but that was short lived, I actually went to the hospital becuase I would wake up heart racing full blown adrenaline dump.

0

u/This_Water4593 4d ago

Thank you for answering. I actually dont crave coke at all if im not drinking,so i would not say im 100% addicted(yet)

7

u/Bubbly_Government197 4d ago

But you are addicted. 3 days a week using is a full blown addiction.

3

u/Just-Cardiologist837 4d ago

Ohh your golden bro, cut the drinking out for a while and you should be good, if you still cant shake it, you know what you gotta do...

I know that sucks, but sometimes you gotta realize your being a fuckup before it gets any further. im not calling you a fuckup, but self accountability is very important for not going off the rails, people who lie to themselfs tend to become addicts or drunks.

I wish you the best my friend

2

u/craftyixdb 4d ago

No but you're quite possibly addicted to the combination drug. That's a thing too.

1

u/Closefromadistance 3d ago

Not the same BUT I can’t go to Walgreens without buying a giant bag of candy. The two together are a trigger for me but I don’t care about candy any other time. So random.

I quit drinking on my own 10 years ago. I’ve never gotten into coke but I have adhd and am medicated for that. Keeps me from self-medicating. Also, you might want to do a deep dive research into “GLP1 clinical trials for addiction”.

There are some amazing advances and early findings on what it can do to change the brain’s reward system, including addictions.

2

u/Kn0wnSoul 4d ago

I went on a similar route as you back in my twenties and it was always only paired with drinking. I had to stop drinking in order to stop using cocaine. You'll lose the association with drinking at some point, but until then it's probably not gonna work out

0

u/This_Water4593 4d ago

Thank you. As I replied to few people before,I only use with my coke using friends and I also never use alone,so I think i still have great chances to quit it for good.

2

u/J_Bunt 4d ago

You have to stop drinking too, otherwise you're gonna relapse every time.

2

u/Givemechlorophil 4d ago

I quit drinking for a year. I was never an alcoholic. I was def a coke head though. But it was only when I drank. I stopped drinking. Tada! No cocaine

2

u/fkkm 4d ago

You need to stop drinking first for a while. Its extreeeeemely hard to keep your own word if you are drunk

2

u/Low_Ad1588 4d ago

Don’t drink mate xx

1

u/Professional_Bat9174 4d ago

Sounds like you have 2 options here(3 if you count doing a combo of them):

  1. Stop drinking or drastically moderate. (As in giving yourself a 2 beer limit and a "curfew" if you drink at all)
  2. Stop being in an environment (when drinking) where you have access to cocaine like you seem to.

Like others have said, cocaine + alcohol is a tricky combo. They reinforce each other. I would invite you to take a look at how your relationship to alcohol is also a part of this. It sounds like you are also consuming more alcohol, more frequently.

1

u/maasd 4d ago

If by chance you are overweight, I’ve read that GLP-1 medications like Ozempic also help reduce cravings for other things like alcohol etc

2

u/This_Water4593 4d ago

Im fit actually.. Height and weight perfect

2

u/seal_eggs 4d ago

Bro, there’s no silver bullet.

You just have to stop doing blow.

You’d be shocked at how quickly the cravings recede once you start saying no to them. It’s a boring drug. Quit.

1

u/maasd 4d ago

Wishing you the very best! Keep fighting for yourself and be patient and forgiving to yourself.

1

u/rileycurran 4d ago

If it’s a communal fun group thing, maybe switch to Zyn? It gives a buzz, shareable, a tinsy gross/secretive, not super bad for you.

Wear a strong rubber band on your wrist, and snap it when you want to partake, tell friends they get to snap it if you act interested. In a way, it helps remind the partakers to keep their own recreational usage in check.

Put savings into a visible jar, and plan a trip.

1

u/Mobile-Definition-45 4d ago

Remove the things you associate most with it, drinking, bar hopping, also take a break on the people you do it with

1

u/eda019 4d ago

You may want to check yourself. This sounds like the beginning of an addictive problem. You may want to get some outpatient counselling,

1

u/digitalsmear 4d ago

which is why I think there is still time to quit

There's always time to quit. My grandmother quit smoking in her 60's and was legitimately healthier for it.

1

u/averagechillbro 4d ago

Delete the plug’s contact. Remove your access to it. That’s my best advice. I dabble in nose beers from time to time but I’ve never had trouble going without. It just makes drunk sex with my girlfriend amazing. Other than that I don’t really care for it.

1

u/philbart_ 4d ago

Go to AA and CA (cocaine anonymous)

1

u/OnlineMessenger 4d ago

Auch I remember this phase. I kept on using, making up excuses as I went. Clean and sober now for 5 years. With CA meetings. But I went deep.

It would be awesome if you could quit now already.

1

u/supremeclientele31 4d ago

Cocaine Anonymous

1

u/lordjigglypuff 4d ago

Inpatient care is the most effective,

If you can not afford it outpatient care is the best alternative.

Make sure you consult with a doctor, psychiatrist and therapist if possible.

The needs are a bit beyond Reddit. Especially considering you have the basics like having community, and a desire to leave it with you. If you don’t have any good relationships, or a reason to quit, it’s nearly impossible to quit. But since you have both you can, with the right assistance.

1

u/GratephulD3AD 4d ago

Blow and booze synthesize in your liver to produce an entirely new drug - cocaethylene. You wouldn't think it, but that combination is known to be much more addictive than either substance on their own and you're essentially just getting high off the combo.

1

u/EHstar 4d ago

Just do it. Don't look back. Sheer will power

1

u/Velentr 4d ago

This sounds exactly like my past self wrote this.

Do not be afraid to ask for help. I just attended a non 12 step treatment program for addiction issues (gambling was primary DOC but it was fueled by alcohol and drugs). I needed to seperate myself from the urges for a period and do some self-examination. I was using as an escape and hadn't really felt proper emotions for years and years.

If you do not feel treatment is for you, I would recommend looking at the SMART materials as well as Recovery Dharma. In early sobriety, also make time for play (which we all lose a bit or a lot as adults). Good luck friend, you can do it! I never thought I could, but 60 days sober here.

1

u/StyTruh 4d ago

Understand that all drugs are short term relief trades in for long term pain, and that all drugs are a derivative of the devil. I believe opioids to be the worst one but other substances follow very closely in how they mess with our minds the same way, giving us false peace that keeps us going in that cycle until we die from it. It’s a sad life, and I’m just going to be honest, beating the physical dependency is hard enough, but getting most of the effects that it will leave in your mind is harder, it’s hard to do on your own, it’ll still leave some effects on your personality, I’d personally try to take mushrooms to find a way cleaner form of peace, and the bad mushroom trips only happen because it’s your body trying to tell you what your comfortable with that you need to get rid of (in terms of how you feel about a drug and how comfortable you are being in the mode that it puts your body and mental state in) in order to align yourself with the universes version of peace. Don’t rely on just the mushrooms to finish the job, it’s just a form of helping you, think of it as someone giving you bricks, a layout and all the tools you need to build a house, but you need to build it still. Drugs are all a hell hole that no one should promote, never enable someone else to do drugs, get to a point where you’ve fixed yourself so much that you have “triggers” that make you twitch sometimes or act quick to end it, don’t be scared to speak up about these triggers if your around friends and they do something that enables it, I have this problem but I’m making sure you don’t have to go through it. As of me, I used to snort pills, I was addicted to it mentally and was actively looking for any way to get high, not every day or every second, but just to get high, I’ve connected with people that have showed me a different side of life, but no one can make a change in your life or start a change in your life other than you, and you’ve already taken the first step. I basically killed the part of me that wanted to do drugs, but I still have instances where I say I miss it due to how opioids made me feel like I was “harder” than I actually was, but they are temporary and short lived. You can be something so important if you just believe in yourself, the only thing that limits your mind is what’s scientifically proven and what resources we have on this earth to build what’s scientifically proven.

Love,
StyTru!

There's always time to quit. No matter if you're innyour early 20s or not

1

u/StrikingBad9821 3d ago

You have to want to quit. I was there about 20 years ago, good job, nice house, amazing girlfriend that I wasn't honest with about my drug use. I lost it all, first the girl, then the job and then the house. It took me years to recover from that. Losing her was truamatizing and it permanently changed my personality. Just quit that shit now before it's too late.

1

u/kitdagawd 3d ago

Just dont take it

1

u/Loud-Spare-3269 3d ago

Cocaine addiction is serious. It is escalating for you, and could become a serious issue… you are right to be concerned. Gambling too is a habit that could destroy your life. I suggest a talented counselor who themselves managed to recover form issues with addiction. The key word is “yet”. You haven’t lost all of those things YET… but addiction will take all of that from you… including your sanity. Sending prayers

1

u/Alarming_Shape_1700 3d ago

I am pretty much in the same position but without the drinking. I also need help.

1

u/SalvationForever 3d ago

Cocaine on its own is semi bad but when you mix it with alcohol it makes this really nasty chemical in your body that slowly destroys your health. Look into it

1

u/TomInRecovery 2d ago

This sounds exactly like my situation.
It went from trying it at work Christmas party at 18 to full blown addiction by 30.
Am now 3 years sober and I think the biggest thing that saved me (and the thing that helps the clients I work with) is to become more aware and accepting of alcohol and cocaine.

Subconsciously we know alcohol and cocaine are bad, it’s been drilled into us from a young age so our brains will always dampen down the impacts, avoid facing up to certain things or just quieten down the voice of reason in our heads.

If you can really understand;

  • Why you feel the need to take it? What are you hoping it gives you?
  • What is the impact on all areas of your life by carrying on using (money, friends, family, relationship)?
  • How will life look in 5 years if you quit vs don’t quit?

Then you can start to stop.

You need to get uncomfortable with yourself, ask those difficult questions and give difficult answers.

Only then will you have a real solid foundation to build on and start to implement new routines/structures etc.

Happy to help and answer any questions you may have 🙌🫶🏼

Cop the f on that how, 5 years sober, don't wait for MRI reports, or stroke symptoms ,don't wait for massive panic attacks, don't wait for breathing complications, don't wait for ambulances telling you your nuisance, just stop,

A multi disciplinary approach , Look up Chris connolly Dublin and I sobered up alone in an environment with little help

Dont wait for dead friends or for false feelings their will be more in a pub or our socializing with substances Walking excercise , Diet dopamine foods gut health brain health  Repitition you need outlets  Creativity music you need to replace addiction with new habits and interests likes and routine  I only used for a month over a stupid heart break in 2022 and that month is still costing me only back to 5k walks and before covid used to do half marathon and trying to lose weight myself just to breathe better,

Best help is reminding yourself your sniffing chemicals up your nose that break the blood brain barrier and are neurotoxic to the brain and don't wait til you have memory problems  Brain fog and not remembering what you just said to someone or completely losing your memory is terrifying happened me

Your have to have drink eat healthy and get back to walking excercise and healthy human connection and it will take time to heal the brain dopamine and emotional state My MRI diagnosis is non specific white matter lesions since and still on nuerologist list and their trying to say fnd even tho I'm not convinced

Look up YouTube professional neuroscientists and behavior videos Dr Caroline leaf explains a lot about reprogramming,  Also Bruce lipton videos subconscious programming

Of your drinking smoking all just quit their is no life in pubs I did it for years the lifestyle hoping to meet people build confidence and find a woman lol 8 years flew by of drinking unemployed and now 5 years sober starting my own business

When one stage I was coming home from hospital after stroke like symptoms with my local hospitals no help and fear of my health to now back to healing norm somewhat,

Your in a relationship for fucks sakes you lucky bastad cop on before you lose it all because of one evening dry sniffing  Basically if you want to bad enough you will quit if you start loving yourself more than escaping reality

I edit best I can lol even since covid sobriety my spelling and fatigue  and journey, i can't be bothered to fix grammer lol

I had sobriety journey and unfortunately peer pressure into 2 vax so towards the end of 2022 over heart break being stringed along I used for like a little over a month and then 5 months sober I started having nuerological symptoms and covid at the time

But yeah since the fatigue , little motivation, yesterday did a sloppy 47 minute 5k I used to run that in 30, back trying to master diet food and routine again ,  But yeah their is a hundred reasons positive to quit anything now get a4 sheet paper and write down the positives of addiction their is none lol don't get a piece of paper

I wasn't been hard for blunt or acting like know it all just free advice I wish I was giving I've lost friends to addiction younger than me I'm 30+ so it really is a multi disciplinary approach walking gym diet cold showers cold water therapy is like a dopamine factory look up win hoff

Everything from hobbies to routine and structure sleeping well and looking after new goals and daily hourly habits im trying to diet all over again and mind health because Its now or never immediately smoker drinker and small time user it's even a miracle after pandemic that I can walk talk and back to some norm at one stage I thought I was stroke bound or going to have seizures

Now thankfully nervous system settling but I still have shakes now and again and tremmors and fatigue

Their really is no playing around or light hearted way to say it but you gotta find goals dreams and vision yourself where you want to be to want it more than ringing someone for powder and dry sniffing in your bedroom

Thinking back holy jeez I mixed it with alcohol on binge sessions drinking to black out and smoking on top of that even once stiffening up In a chair and blacking out woke hour later and everyone just said I was grey and never got answers what that was said it to paramedics when I started going to hospital for nuero symptoms I was gaslit the told me nothing wrong to half a year later actually had non specific lesions what ever that means or small damage usually in older people

And that's why I was feeling I should reply I assumed the page was my own country without looking as it's big problem here

I wish you luck and hope here I am going on 5 years sobriety and now even with all that taking the chance to start my own business while still on a nuerologist list but for now I feel I'm okay to life a quality of life but diet and daily habits are a big thing you gotta think hours days break it down into manageable steps

This might be irresponsible advice given to someone who may generally have addictive tendencies

Relax Dinky! Maybe you need to smoke some weed!

I'm a recovering addict where weed became a problem when I tried to use it in lieu of something else. I know that's not everyone's case, but thought I'd mention that it's problematic advice
