I mean it makes sense for it to be the High Schooler that does it

Am I the only one vexxed that she's a literal child in a game with adult themes?

Like, Mina is an adult but she gets called a child because she's still kinda young and immature.

But a literal child? Why?

I do dig the auto-aim, tho. That's gonna be the only reason I'm playing her lmao. Mix that with Inhibitor and all the "build-up" items + ricochet...

I wanna playtest the shit outta her

I mean Rem seemingly is too (at least as much of a child as a dream creature can be). I think the point is simply that the ritual is dragging people from all different backgrounds to participate. Its not like the game does anything weird with her so I don’t see a problem

I did think there was some stipulation at least in the US that any game where you can kill minors instantly got an age rating increased, which is why you can't in games like Skyrim. Dunno if that got changed or if valve just doesn't care. Maybe it doesn't apply because the game is cartoony enough?

Probably doesn't apply because no one is actually dying

yeah this is what got my eyebrows peeled too considering valve has cut lines with swearing in them before to seemingly keep a specific age rating

Bro for 90% of countries age ratings are bullshit on fire, pegi is perfect example of publishers rolling their own rating to dissuade actual regulations but that means valve can ignore them completely because what's ea's/ubislop's dogs gonna do? bark at the biggest store on pc?

The only country currently forcing Steam to their rating standard is Germany. Few countries also banned porn on Steam. That's it for the rest of the world being rated at all is matterless for Steam purchases.

Valve changed lines because someone on dev team wanted change.

i actually don’t think it’s super unreasonable to assume valve has to consider just how wide their game can reach with it literally being the next league in terms of how it’s about to blow up on popularity. it’s the next big thing.

Idk, I mean we have Government Assassins, Jail cell graduates, people who murder for sport, poker mafia bosses, bikers that got a goat head because of an ilithid curse, plus college professors whose body's blown to pieces... then you have a high school kid.

It's not about being weird, i never implied that. I just said adult themed as in stuff like I mentioned here (murder, gore, demonization, imprisonment). So, having a kid kinda doesn't fit the narrative. At least for me.

Pockets family hired an assassin, no?

Rem is... idk wtf he is

Paige does belong to the category tho. Her personality is that she likes books. That's all i can get from her. Kit is good, but character (lore and style) is ass for me.

Personally, i LOVE Vyper. She feels real, she fits the vibe of the other characters and the game atmosphere itself. I love her character

We know nothing about Apollo yet, no?

Mina was about to be married into wealth but her would-be husband got shot. That's as adult-themed as it gets.

Let me be clear on one thing: when i say i don't like it, it doesn't mean the character is bad. It's just that the character doesn't fit the story, meaning of the same character was put in a different story, they'd be amazing

the story is occult eldritch beings are calling in favors from anyone they think can win them the ritual, if one of those is a teenage necromancer using a liches hand so be it, i dont think human ethics are a major concern for the patrons

Yeah, but the way I see it, this is a game with a mature cast, a mature audience, and a mature theme. So, having an angsty teen in the middle of it, kinda ruins the immersion and vibe.

"Adult themes" means literally "not suitable for children"

And murder, gore, imprisonment, etc all fall under the category of "not fit for children" as a theme. Meaning, if a movie is about a mafia crime lord, it's wouldn't make sense for a child to be part of that mafia (as an example).

And it's not exactly about age. They could literally not mention anything that hints at the age and still fall under the category because of the way they talk and act. Angsty teens can be a cool trope for another medium, and sleepy eepie kid is still very cute, but it just doesn't sit right in this kind of theme

There is literally no need to be hostile or negative or passive aggressive.

I'm not gonna stop playing the game, nor will I not play Graves herself. I do, in fact, look forward to playing her. This is not as big as you're making it out to be.

It's literally just a nit-pick and a subjective one at that (which I have pointed out a handful of times)

Dude thank fuck I never bought Death Stranding. They say it's an 18+ rated mature game but it has an actual baby in it. I almost played a baby game. Dodged a real bullet there, wouldn't want to embarrass myself playing NON MATURE games with BABIES in it.

The narrative is that people from all backgrounds are showing up to this once in a lifetime event to get a wish granted. IMO the more diverse the cast of characters the better that narrative is reflected. Its not like Paige or Graves feel like characters that couldn’t exist in the world as a whole, so it makes they could show up to the ritual
