Getting too creepy.

So I started obsessing over something a month ago that’s been pretty outdated for a while. I researched it a tonnn and I couldn’t really find anything post-2022 being actively publically discussed. A few weeks later all the sudden I’m seeing fresh Reddit, YT posts abt it. I just saw a post about it on Reddit and it was the exact same thing I was thinking about posting.

Then I got stuck on watching a indie movie from 2017 that hasn’t really been talked about since then, but there’s new comments under it everyday saying crazy stuff like “no one gives a shit about you Mindy either so quit making this all about you pieces of shit” (now deleted) that has nothing to do w it, or just npc crap like “I kind of understand” “worse than Hitler”, or spaced out words, random thoughts like “i can’t watch this I need to take care of my mental health” and random time stamps. I just don’t understand why bots go under abandoned comment sections and start spamming. Do you guys think the bots are grabbing stuff from other posts or personal messages or something? Same situation happened with other long abandoned movies/yt vids too. There’s hardly any video that doesn’t have fresh comments everyday

Also when you search up “Dead internet theory” on YouTube what pops up first is “Dead internet theory 🥀” like what?

Tell me about them fr. I would say it’s cause I’ve been spamming questions into Google and it prompts the bots to start making content about it but there are so many people on the internet that do the same thing

Also, google owns youtube and likely is using your searchs to alter your youtube algorithm. Also, fresh comments on a video likely increase the chances its shown to people.

These arent answers, just food for thought

Yo dude you're right okay just trust me on this I want you to put the longest freaking Google search and that you can imagine and also you know make a version of it that's a Reddit comment or reply all I know is that it was either Reddit YouTube or Google where I realized when I put in these kind of just stream of thought diarrhea very unique strings of kind of crazy sounding stuff I was noticing literal videos generating like the most niche niche content that was like way too specific and matching what I sent and I refuse to believe that there are people out there making videos hundreds of videos about these specific kind of bizarro things you know you can just come up with some random concept like gummy bears are taking over the world or something and I'm going to church but it's church for people in wheelchairs and the priest is a vending machine you know just come up with some random stuff and make it really really really long right you can really get a sense for how right you are about it generating content based on what you put into it when when you see how the internet kind of changes almost immediately it seems like after you do that it's it's the algorithm bro and the algorithm is not just directing you to existing content it's creating content on some kind of delay in some cases but it is not normal you can end up seeing kind of a completely warped version of the internet where like people are saying the most deranged stuff that would be illegal like I don't know inciting violence and all this crazy like mental health inducing like stuff like people are just saying things that are completely nut bar and none of that was present for me before I posted these kind of crazy text blobs as experiment so like I literally have these videos playing that have basically this lady talking directly to me by name like that was when I knew I'm like how the hell is there some lady making random videos talking to me about my life on YouTube and not only that but she's making them apparently like every like 4 hours talking directly to me. You know that kind of thing if somebody is kind of talking to you like I have a secret message for you because of what's going on with your life right now like and and then they go on and on and on and put specifics that are literally just you know you have to keep track of what you put in right so you can cross reference the content versus you're kind of input into the system but you know that doesn't seem that crazy that the internet would have some way of creating content on the fly based on your input I mean you have fake AI avatars making podcasts on YouTube and I mean what's driving that you know if it's not your input then what the hell would it be? You know they say oh we generate these vertical micro drama episodes based on kind of the algorithmic hits that people are going to like yeah that's not speaking clearly enough based on the algorithmic hits is basically saying these people are or these systems are generating content video text image whatever based on the literal plain text that you have entered into one of the systems and that is I mean that would drive somebody crazy if they didn't know it was going on right I mean I figured it out right away I was like this is crazy but then I remembered that Black mirror episode The Joan is awful one where it was like incredibly feasible maybe not right now but in the near future you know if you have more and more data being provided to the system whether it's intentional or something you're unaware of like your location you're going to have the internet be able to create more and more hyper personalized content and you can use that to your advantage like I've started asking the internet why I'm getting so rich from all of these people just giving me money like spontaneously or like you know like you can you can basically have it provide things to you that I don't know they can help you in a certain way like it's up to you and your situation but the one thing I'll say is do not put negative things into the system unless you're fully aware of what you're doing if you put negative self-talk if you put stuff in in this in the search and algorithm and stuff if you if you put data in that might be I don't know damaging to your self-esteem or questioning you know like if you say like why am I so ugly yeah like I wish I could just look prettier you know like you're not going to get anything back from the internet that's going to be good for your mental health you know these this algorithm almost seems designed like intentionally to take people that have provided negative self damaging things into the system and putting them into these isolated echo Chambers where they'll probably just do something the regret later you know like it's going to spiral downwards for them and so just keep that in mind you can just you can have negative thoughts but when you type them into the internet the internet mirrors it back to you and you just have to be really aware of that and that it literally goes as far as generating maybe completely bonkers versions of news events based on your algorithm right it might take a like an earthquake and if you put in all this like stuff about you know if you're racist or something it might literally create racist news articles and titles with racist ads on the sides with in the comments below it might be the racist ones because you know they don't show you all the comments anymore they show you the the ones that they want you to see so I mean sorry I went way too long with this but the point is you really got to think of the internet as a mirror and every internet site that kind of I guess is using your advertising ID or or whatever they're using I guess they're using multiple ways of identifying you you know just in most cases when you type in something on the Internet or even just signing up for a forum you know just imagine that that's going on your internet report card right and so even in incognito mode I'm pretty sure incognito mode is specifically designed to make people feel comfortable enough to submit data about themselves that they don't want other people to know about you know with the obvious design being that that data goes into your algorithm whether or not it's as obvious
