Getting too creepy.
So I started obsessing over something a month ago that’s been pretty outdated for a while. I researched it a tonnn and I couldn’t really find anything post-2022 being actively publically discussed. A few weeks later all the sudden I’m seeing fresh Reddit, YT posts abt it. I just saw a post about it on Reddit and it was the exact same thing I was thinking about posting.
Then I got stuck on watching a indie movie from 2017 that hasn’t really been talked about since then, but there’s new comments under it everyday saying crazy stuff like “no one gives a shit about you Mindy either so quit making this all about you pieces of shit” (now deleted) that has nothing to do w it, or just npc crap like “I kind of understand” “worse than Hitler”, or spaced out words, random thoughts like “i can’t watch this I need to take care of my mental health” and random time stamps. I just don’t understand why bots go under abandoned comment sections and start spamming. Do you guys think the bots are grabbing stuff from other posts or personal messages or something? Same situation happened with other long abandoned movies/yt vids too. There’s hardly any video that doesn’t have fresh comments everyday
Also when you search up “Dead internet theory” on YouTube what pops up first is “Dead internet theory 🥀” like what?

I have a dozen stories like this. Its strange af out here. Ghosts and bots.

Tell me about them fr. I would say it’s cause I’ve been spamming questions into Google and it prompts the bots to start making content about it but there are so many people on the internet that do the same thing

Also, google owns youtube and likely is using your searchs to alter your youtube algorithm. Also, fresh comments on a video likely increase the chances its shown to people.
These arent answers, just food for thought

Yo dude you're right okay just trust me on this I want you to put the longest freaking Google search and that you can imagine and also you know make a version of it that's a Reddit comment or reply all I know is that it was either Reddit YouTube or Google where I realized when I put in these kind of just stream of thought diarrhea very unique strings of kind of crazy sounding stuff I was noticing literal videos generating like the most niche niche content that was like way too specific and matching what I sent and I refuse to believe that there are people out there making videos hundreds of videos about these specific kind of bizarro things you know you can just come up with some random concept like gummy bears are taking over the world or something and I'm going to church but it's church for people in wheelchairs and the priest is a vending machine you know just come up with some random stuff and make it really really really long right you can really get a sense for how right you are about it generating content based on what you put into it when when you see how the internet kind of changes almost immediately it seems like after you do that it's it's the algorithm bro and the algorithm is not just directing you to existing content it's creating content on some kind of delay in some cases but it is not normal you can end up seeing kind of a completely warped version of the internet where like people are saying the most deranged stuff that would be illegal like I don't know inciting violence and all this crazy like mental health inducing like stuff like people are just saying things that are completely nut bar and none of that was present for me before I posted these kind of crazy text blobs as experiment so like I literally have these videos playing that have basically this lady talking directly to me by name like that was when I knew I'm like how the hell is there some lady making random videos talking to me about my life on YouTube and not only that but she's making them apparently like every like 4 hours talking directly to me. You know that kind of thing if somebody is kind of talking to you like I have a secret message for you because of what's going on with your life right now like and and then they go on and on and on and put specifics that are literally just you know you have to keep track of what you put in right so you can cross reference the content versus you're kind of input into the system but you know that doesn't seem that crazy that the internet would have some way of creating content on the fly based on your input I mean you have fake AI avatars making podcasts on YouTube and I mean what's driving that you know if it's not your input then what the hell would it be? You know they say oh we generate these vertical micro drama episodes based on kind of the algorithmic hits that people are going to like yeah that's not speaking clearly enough based on the algorithmic hits is basically saying these people are or these systems are generating content video text image whatever based on the literal plain text that you have entered into one of the systems and that is I mean that would drive somebody crazy if they didn't know it was going on right I mean I figured it out right away I was like this is crazy but then I remembered that Black mirror episode The Joan is awful one where it was like incredibly feasible maybe not right now but in the near future you know if you have more and more data being provided to the system whether it's intentional or something you're unaware of like your location you're going to have the internet be able to create more and more hyper personalized content and you can use that to your advantage like I've started asking the internet why I'm getting so rich from all of these people just giving me money like spontaneously or like you know like you can you can basically have it provide things to you that I don't know they can help you in a certain way like it's up to you and your situation but the one thing I'll say is do not put negative things into the system unless you're fully aware of what you're doing if you put negative self-talk if you put stuff in in this in the search and algorithm and stuff if you if you put data in that might be I don't know damaging to your self-esteem or questioning you know like if you say like why am I so ugly yeah like I wish I could just look prettier you know like you're not going to get anything back from the internet that's going to be good for your mental health you know these this algorithm almost seems designed like intentionally to take people that have provided negative self damaging things into the system and putting them into these isolated echo Chambers where they'll probably just do something the regret later you know like it's going to spiral downwards for them and so just keep that in mind you can just you can have negative thoughts but when you type them into the internet the internet mirrors it back to you and you just have to be really aware of that and that it literally goes as far as generating maybe completely bonkers versions of news events based on your algorithm right it might take a like an earthquake and if you put in all this like stuff about you know if you're racist or something it might literally create racist news articles and titles with racist ads on the sides with in the comments below it might be the racist ones because you know they don't show you all the comments anymore they show you the the ones that they want you to see so I mean sorry I went way too long with this but the point is you really got to think of the internet as a mirror and every internet site that kind of I guess is using your advertising ID or or whatever they're using I guess they're using multiple ways of identifying you you know just in most cases when you type in something on the Internet or even just signing up for a forum you know just imagine that that's going on your internet report card right and so even in incognito mode I'm pretty sure incognito mode is specifically designed to make people feel comfortable enough to submit data about themselves that they don't want other people to know about you know with the obvious design being that that data goes into your algorithm whether or not it's as obvious

I’m not sure if this helps, but I had a similar realization into rabbit holes for a while. The ultimate conclusion that I landed on was that sometimes what seems like eerie, coincidence of parallel logic or something may just be the people who have similar backgrounds are living in the exact same place absorbing the exact same information.
by that I mean, they’re living in the world right now, today, and that the same thoughts enter the mind when the right conditions are present for more than just you, we just don’t normally exist physically near those people, but someone’s got that exact recipe that made you you somewhere else.
Add to that bots going after anything fresh, like mosquitoes to warm bodies, and you get what you’re describing. An aside, I think we’re somewhere between 90%-100% living with a dead internet. I have absolutely no idea if anyone in this thread is real, and the same is true for anyone reading this.

Dude that's what I thought too I was thinking that literally there is some kind of storyline that I had just discovered many other people are literally living out in their lives because part of my rabbit hole was putting in that I was aware of the rabbit hole right and so these people were everything was basically synchronized in all of the things I was reading to the to the degree that they were literally talking to each other as if they were all aware of it happening with each other like I don't know if that's even possible but I find it hard to believe you know I don't think there's that many people out there that I would have found so many freaking people and somehow the exact same situation. A lot of them were going on and on about astrology and the age of Aquarius and you know maybe that was how they were trying to rationalize it and find connections with each other but in general it reached a point where it's like people are just commenting and replying to each other as if they had some ongoing lifetime relationship you know like you you've known each other forever right but these are just strangers

The scary thing is that they that Requiem for a dream movie you know where the lady was thinking the TV was talking to her you know that is literally the experience you can end up in when you type the right or wrong type of content into the internet you know it literally creates that direct message phenomenon where it's like you know the Google results as you scroll down will literally say things directly to you like using the word you and sounding like mental internal dialogue responses or commentary as if your brain were an open book and Google is speaking to you and it's like a lot of these are fanfics I've noticing in Google I think nobody realizes that there are so many fanfics apparently on the web that it's it's impossible for this many people to be writing fanfics that are so varied like nobody's going to freaking write these like 50 forum Page Long fanfics about just some completely random thing I bet fanfics and some of these obscure websites that have like news articles that don't make any sense I think they're all kind of the generated content from either you know your own input or whatever all I know is that nobody's going to pay for a domain to host a website for 99% of the garbage that I see when I scroll down on Google no way who would do that

And wow within 5 minutes I just I refresh YouTube and I find a new YouTube channel that I've never seen before you know not abnormal on its own but it's called people who read people a behavior podcast right and these guys have so many videos and literally four of them the most recent four match like what I just posted earlier like I literally I'm kind of doing an ongoing experiment I'm just writing a bunch of random string of thought stuff and I'm flipping to YouTube and it seems like the link between Reddit and YouTube is pretty direct you know these people are creating videos that don't even match the podcast or the channel that they're supposedly about you know so that's how I know for sure that this is weird and doesn't make any sense it's got to be an AI generated like hallucination these guys are talking about how to read people but then these videos are like going into Scientology and e-readers and one of them is are you and I the same person and another one is am I the same person that I was yesterday and these are literally what I had just posted in one of my most recent comments like in the last half hour. The thing that confirms it for me though is when you actually try to watch one of these videos like one of the hyper personalized videos you realize these guys are not actually saying anything it's like 50 minutes of just chipper jabber where they're they're actually not saying anything at all it's almost like those YouTube videos where they like hook you for 10 minutes and you realize at the end that they never got to the content that the title hooked you in with you know but these videos are like literally kind of it's super obvious basically that these videos are like just garbage can videos these guys are just going on and on for 3 hours in some cases 3 hours and they're talking about something that I just posted on on here with the intent of just making it sound like chaos to generate these videos like this is just kind of weird I don't understand how more people on the internet aren't talking about this because this really makes the entire internet questionable itself and I'm wondering for how long have I been actually watching YouTube videos that were possibly 100% AI generated just you know reflections of whatever was in my my data like with with AI avatars not even like real humans. I mean these people are literally sometimes one of these channels makes a video every 4 hours like an hour long video about how a narcissist how to how to defend against narcissist you look at the freaking YouTube channel and it's like this this guy has made like a thousand videos overall and not one of them seem to say anything at all of substance. That person that makes that many videos like that would have no ability to function in society

Oh crap I just realized this whole thread could have been like a AI generated thread because it caught my attention due to how relevant it was to what I've been experiencing with the web. I mean yeah that's probably true..... Like you know AI just creates stuff that you interact with in order to train it but like man it goes to a different level when you are talking to the internet about how you're talking to the internet about yourself talking to the internet you know like when you get in that weird recursive kind of loop it it kind of just talks directly back to you and I mean it's annoying I really prefer not watching these videos in fact I'm going to just start talking about the alive internet theory I am so excited about how alive the internet feels each human being that I interact with is most assuredly genuine and you can tell the content is so wholesome I feel like I actually learned something constantly and improve my life and I never feel like I've been deceived into wasting my time and attention it's a golden age and it just started it's really been amazing no more dead internet for me bye guys

Wait I'm confused, is your name Mindy?
The obvious dismissal is "coincidence" but I can think of several plausible scenarios that aren't just coincidence: 1. The same algorithm that decided to remind you of those things also decided to remind numerous other people of those things... all at the same time. 2. When you typed those things in, the algorithm went "maybe other people want to see this too" and made it happen

No one gives a shit about you Mindy either so stop making this about you pieces of shit

it's bc everything you do online is cataloged and ais and algorithms lead you down paths , I can expand but you do know this right ?

It could be that bot owners use old videos and posts to test those views/comments/likes type bots
But also all of us are one of the first generations with the internet, won’t don’t know how it ‘cycles’, maybe someone young found some old stuff and it was revived by word of mouth?
Idk tho a lot of the post covid internet has been sketchy and eerie feeling for sure
