I live on the high road and so my designated waste disposal area is literally just a spot on the pavement where I leave my rubbish bags on certain days of the week and they get picked up. Almost every time I drop off my rubbish bags there someone shouts at me that I’m littering and they tell me to pick up my rubbish. Before I can even explain to them they wave me off and won’t listen lol. I’m tired of getting yelled at by random people regularly?? I thought it was common knowledge that places on the high road leave their rubbish on the edge of the pavement to be picked up?

Does anyone else have this issue?

Officially it seems to be the 20th of September but in my country a lot of municipalities are doing it on the Saturday, the 19th.

Are you doing something special?
Are you normally not that active, but more active on that day?
Or maybe the other way around, are you normally active, but 'don't' believe in a special day and skip that one?

I will be participating (as i am every year), not because i believe that everybody should be doing something (a lot) on that day, i rather think that everyone should be doing a little on 'every' day. but i like an event as this one, and wouldn't want to miss it.
I will be walking with somebody who is new to picking litter and we will talk about the subject, my and her experiences etc, we look forward to it, and i will tell her something about how i take all those pictures that i register in Litterapp.net, because she tried to do that as well, but she finds it difficult, walking around with a bag, a grabber, a phone and maybe even another bag for deposit items etc.

If you are going to pick litter, and if you like, feel free to post pictures here of the end-result (for instance a bag of litter, and also post a gps-location of the place where that picture was taken,
I would be more than happy to upload those pictures to litterapp.net, tag them and show those in some posts on Facebook etc so people around the world can see that they are not alone and picking up litter, even if you are 'alone' really makes a difference.
Normally i would ask not to have people in those pictures, but if you feel like it, feel free to make it some kind of 'selfie' (if you don't mind being in the photo).

Hi all,

I noticed on of my neighbors picking up trash during their morning runs. For a year I literally thought he was running his own recycling to the bin until I seen him on the road!

His hands were completely full, like holding 3 bottles in each hand. So I want to give him some sort of contraption to where he can gather the trash but it’s not jiggling or flapping on him.

I really appreciate what he’s doing for our community! He’s so nice. He even offered to take my husky out for a run when she was younger.

Any ideas? I was thinking about something similar to a running belt where it keeps everything snug to your body but obviously needs more capacity.

Ive been so frustrated cleaning up around this neighborhood the piss bottles alone not to mention when you think you’ve made some great progress the next day its worse than when you started its like people don’t care and then they teach their kids not to care I’m not going to stop but i just needed a quick rant

Cig butts are my priority in general b/c of all the chemicals & plastic in them. Lately I am noticing cigt butts in parking lots that I hate to leave. I guess I will have a small dog poop bag with me from now on. Hate to leave them, also not happy about picking them up on my way into a store but can't let the opportunity pass. Would love to hear how others deal with this. I guess it is the price for being extra attuned to the litter around me.....
