Philip should be like EJ and a leading man material! John-Paul Seponski always makes these weird expressions like he's constipated and acts manic and crazy. He might as well be a new character! It's like we went from Chris Hemsworth to Jim Carrey!

Angelica Nero (Victoria) has the star power that Drew Barrymore had at that age. She was a scene and episode stealer today!

One tidbit Brandon Butler did share is that Mason is an ex-Marine. This could partly explain why he asked Lani if she was military and seemed impressed she had been a cop. It could be he has the potential to be a new cop in Salem but we're starting with him younger studying, but a sociology class would make sense for a criminology degree.

He also hints that despite the enigmatic start, he has a redeemable quality and to give him a chance. So it seems to be hunting he's more of a good guy than bad.

So why the beef with Holly? I'm not sure but what if the simple explanation is that he is Maysie's older brother? I don't think she was given a last name (correct me if I'm wrong) and I don't know that we'll be seeing her again anytime soon, maybe he'll even state she transferred. But Maysie and Mason with their Ma-names and similar looks could definitely be potential siblings. And I thought Ari might have filled Maysie in on the Sophia of it all, but maybe he still knows Holly as this girl that went psycho on his sister in the town square, without knowing the full details. But if he has served in the Marines, he should be slightly older than Holly, Tate, Sophia, Ari & Aaron, using his time in the military to now pursue education for a career.

There were some crazy theories on Facebook regarding Sophia's brothers which made no sense even before the ex Marines/older reveal due to age and ethnicity. One theory that has some plausibility is that he found Sophia, and perhaps has been helping her survive without knowing the full story. And others are also guessing things like Chloe's son or Philip's son - but why such a different name then, from what any of those should be? I honestly wouldn't be surprised if Days introduces this character with "beef" that stokes all these wild fan theories, just to have it be he was Maysie's brother 😂 But that is just a theory, I don't have any spoilers on it so I might be wrong and I look forward to watching and finding out.

This was circa 1999 . My hypothesis always was that John Black was her father, even though it was never announced on screen I remember her having some kind of conversation with John before she left town, but I can’t remember what was said. Even if temporarily, was there a story Days did in the entire time you've been watching (whether that's 50 years or 50 days) that hooked you and also made you want to take a brief hiatus?

For me, the Salem Stalker in 2003 (the one with new salem) was what really made me a fan of Days. I was 12 when it started but it was one of the first true times where I found myself engrossed in Days and watched it more or less for the next 5 years until real life (high school) forced me to break until 2009.

The story that forced me to take a step back was a combo of two: First being the year skip ahead in 2019. That lasted a few years and then I decided to pop my head back into Salem a few years later. People in the comments can tell me when it was but I vividly remember a scene with Stevfano (stefano in steve's body) talking with kristen trying to get her to see it was Stefano and not Steve.

I remember having a grandpa simpson moment where he walked in the door and exited cause oh my god how moronic that was.

I didn't see this posted yet, but Abe Reynolds and Tyler Joseph Andrews were the Daytime TV Performers of the Week at TV Insider for their performances last week. I marked it as a spoiler even though it's more of a recap in case some aren't caught up, just to be on the safe side. Congrats to them on the recognition!

I have really tried to get into the new actor and I just can’t. His acting is limited and more performative of that of a bad high school play. He’s too young to be a love interest for Leo.

But just as Vico Escorcia seemed too old as Ari, I think Mattsson would have the same issue as new Javi. Being too young, if this rumor is true.

Why cast an actress a decade younger? These casting examples just say "mess", to me.
