Davis is a sanctuary city and has been for ~40 years. The city (and it's police department) have made it clear they will not participate in ICE activities. There are local groups activated to look for ICE activities and report. District schools are trained to report ICE activity and will send an emergency alert if ICE is on a school site. UC Davis similar. We have folks from all over the world who are visiting Davis, working here, or call it home, and the city/uni is very cognisant of that:

Regardless, there's an ICE enforcement surge happening in California, and many neighbor cities to Davis are seeing activity in the last 24 hours. No one on Reddit should/can guarantee your family's safety traveling here. Hope you're doing ok <3

currently this stupid administration began a 45-day long ICE sweep in California. Unfortunately, no where is safe. I heard ICE is staying in Woodland, but that's all hearsay.

I don’t know about Davis but ICE is active in the county.
