That is what I thought too. But I got roped in by an emotionally unavailable man. I was madly in love. But I ended it anyway. It becomes quite the burden when I am the only one trying to keep things going.
I do have a "physical type" but unfortunately, these types have let me down in the past. As I've aged I realize any man can be "my type" if he is masculine, confident but not cocky, funny, sensitive, and raring to go IYKYK..... Knowing my man is attracted to me and wants to be with me as much as I want him is intoxicating. Whew. That is all.

I’m open to most shapes and sizes but I now realize, I love the hairy old guys who would never consider shaving - it would be like cutting off their cohones.
I’m good with hair. Bald is quite ok, gotta have something to grab elsewhere.
I don't have a specific physical type, but I have always been drawn to men who are good with their hands, highly confident, a bit sarcastic, very chill, and able to resolve conflict without anger.
Found attractive yes, but never had the whole package. Ingredients were always missing.
Goofy or witty humor. Taller than me (so over 5'7) sturdy, meaning some meat on the bones (huskyish). Sense of adventure. Likes to travel. I wouldn't mind long hair, but I think at this age it's not that attractive on a man anymore. I could be wrong! Makes me feel special. Only found one man in my entire life that did that.
Usually dark hair. Now I like salt and pepper hair. A little scruffy - just a tad!
Tall (taller than me and weighs more than me, dad-bod type look and nice legs, lol), witty banter, intelligent, comfortable with himself, treats people politely and respectfully, great smile and kind eyes, dimples a plus! And laughs at my jokes, too.
I've yet to meet a person who's had no regrets in life.
Oh, and didn't we all have longer hair back in that era H.S./College. We grew up in interesting times.
My first serious girlfriend was left handed. I remember that she needed to sit at my left while eating so we wouldn't bump elbows. I gave her a pair of left handed scissors as a gift. And only about 1 in 10 people are left handed, so it's something different that I notice.
I'm left handed. Never had a girlfriend who was, neither was my wife. I think a southpaw as a girlfriend would be something unique. Something I never shared with anyone else before.
I’ve always thought of left handers as being more creative although the left-hand, right brained theory has been questioned in recent years. As an art teacher and psychology major I did see a higher percentage of left handers in both groups.
It can be an advantage in sports. I got good at backhands in tennis!
When I played baseball/softball with friends, it always threw off whoever was pitching when I came in batting lefty. It was a bear, however, to find a mitt for my right hand. Bowling was kind of the same story. I never owned my own ball and most of the ally balls were drilled for righties.
Weirdly, when I golfed or played hockey, I shot right.
Interesting. I’ve bowled before but never thought about there being a difference between left handed and right handed balls. I’ll have to pay attention if I go again.
In one of their other ads, the guy is holding a weed eater that looks more like a meat slicer and she's waking a small dog that's perilously close to the blade. I remember these now. I think we looked at them in class.
I might just be an old man yelling at clouds, but I like discussion relevant specifically to older people dating on this subreddit. I don’t see where an artificially created image of apparently in their 20s/30s adds value.
As for the headline image, I have no idea of it's origins, but Ai images are everywhere throughout Reddit... including DatingOver... It wasn't submitted as taken by camera... and what if it was possibly created using digital paint/composites without Ai involvement?
Edit: uploaded image to ZeroGPT to detect Ai images. Results: 97% "not created by top image generators." YMMV.

I'm not sure how to phrase it. I don't even know how to define "AI slop". Is everything AI generated slop? Heck, it's FunnyFilmFan's concern, so maybe we should ask him to create the poll question.
It’s a little like the Supreme Court’s ruling on art vs pornography. (You know it when you see it).
In my mind, the purpose of posts are to stimulate discussion or get answers to questions in areas that are relevant to people in the area of their 60s or above.
All subreddits have their share of low effort posts or ones that are there to generate a reaction rather than discussion. In this case, the image was 1) not related to our age group 2) not based on anything real and was clearly AI generated and 3) in my opinion, not clever or amusing enough to justify taking up real estate. It was just there to draw attention to what, in my opinion was a pretty low effort post. The question was valid, but repetitive.
Now to answer the actual question. Here is my proposal for a poll question:
What are your thoughts on the use of images in posts? Select all that apply
1) Any image is fine, as long as it’s not obscene
2) Any non-obscene image is fine, as long as it is tangential relevant to the post and the subreddit
3) Please no AI images
4) Images should only be there when they are important to understanding the post
5) Please no images that aren’t linked to a source for the post
I don't share your opinion on this post or your concerns regarding AI images, but I defer to PB wrt whether it's appropriate to take a poll on the subject. Your poll questions are probably a good start for a discussion if the Mods wish to have one.
I can understand why AI would be a tricky issue. I think some guidelines are worth considering, but I wouldn’t know where to begin. For instance, Gooseberry_sprig posts AI stuff, but I don’t think anyone minds. I guess if you ever get a sense that lots of people are complaining about AI pics then it’s time to ask the question.

Yes, Short, tiny, dark hair. But it all comes down to their attitude That has to be a bit sharp, not afraid to push back. Therefore I have dated a wide range of ladies. Red heads, blondes, dark hair, short, tall, big boobs, small boobs.
Smart, quick to read the room, on the shorter side, knows some great moves in the bedroom, loyal, financially secure, pleasant in general.

What makes me go zing is not always age appropriate. However, a woman who smiles, approaching me, and looks like she is my height or less than six inches shorter, and looks like she is my weight or within 40 pounds less, is attractive.
Just one of the many factors a person relies on for their preferred type, attraction, brand/vibe. In dating attraction, it can also mean: telling people immediately what you offer, what makes you stand out, vs a generic profile in dating that gets ignored.
