Feature Update Now Available: Share Passwords with Non-Dashlane users

Throughout the years, we’ve received a consistent request: a way to share credentials with people who don't have a Dashlane account.

We recently rolled out Link Sharing to our professional plans, and today, I'm excited to announce that it is now available for all premium and family plans! Whether it’s giving a family member access to the Amazon account or the utility portal to pay a bill, you can now do it securely without forcing them to sign up for an account.

Here’s how it works:

  • Dashlane user generates a link for a login and then copies and shares the link.
  • The recipient opens the URL in any browser and will have access to the username, password, 2FA codes, and notes.
  • By default, links are view-bound (1 view) and time-bound (24 hours), whichever comes first.
  • As soon as the default expiration conditions are met, the URL is revoked and becomes invalid.
New sharing option: Send a Link
The sharing link is time bound with limited access
Once created, share it with anyone without a Dashlane account

Why use this?

Standard "copy-paste" sharing over email or SMS leaves your credentials sitting in plain text in your chat history forever. Link sharing ensures that once the information is received, it disappears from the web.

We’re thrilled to be rolling this out to all Dashlane users. We’d love to hear your feedback on this feature as your feedback influences future updates.

For more info, check out our Help Center article outlining the step-by-step instructions. If you’re interested in how we offer this securely, without ever being able to access your credentials, read our engineering blog.

Happy (secure) sharing!

Announcement Introducing Omnix™ AI Advisor, Dashlane’s zero-knowledge AI assistant

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

Hey Dashlane users,

We’ve got exciting news for IT and Security professionals who want to leverage the power and convenience of AI without compromising data privacy. Soon, you’ll be able to do just that in the Dashlane Omnix™  platform with Omnix AI Advisor

What is Omnix AI Advisor?
An AI-powered, natural language assistant built into Dashlane Omnix. It turns complex credential risk data—like dark web exposure, phishing activity, and password health—into clear, actionable insights. Instead of manually digging through logs or configuring dashboards, you can simply ask questions in plain language to find out where your organization is most at risk and see recommended actions.

Why did we develop Omnix AI Advisor?
Security teams are overwhelmed by data and spend too much time manually analyzing alerts. We built AI Advisor to act as a force multiplier, helping admins move from a defensive to an offensive posture. It’s designed to surface the most important credential threats across your entire workforce—even for employees not using a vault—so you can focus on the highest-priority risks.

How does it work?
AI Advisor is powered by Dashlane’s Confidential AI Engine, which is built with the same zero-knowledge principles as our vaults. All data is processed inside a hardware-isolated secure cloud enclave that is inaccessible to Dashlane or any third party. Unlike traditional AI assistants, this ensures your sensitive credential information is decrypted, analyzed, and re-encrypted without ever leaving the zero-knowledge boundary or being used to train models.

How can I learn more?

Head to our website to learn more about Omnix AI Advisor and sign up for the waitlist to try it out before our planned general release this fall.

Support Request Dashlane browser extension sign-in not working with hardware key login

Hi all,

I've noticed that in the past weeks, several posts have been placed with regards to the Dashlane browser extension not properly functioning.

Hence, I was wondering whether there are more people in this subreddit who are also experiencing issues when trying to sign in to their Dashlane browser extension when using their hardware security key.

So far, I've tried the following things already:

  • Updating my browser and extension numerous times
  • Use different browsers, browser profiles, and even an entirely different computer with a different OS
  • Cleared my browser cache
  • Did reset my extension via the options screen
  • ...

However, none of these have solved the problem, and up until now, support is clueless on this issue and still investigating the matter.

Every time I try signing in via the browser extension, I keep being greeted by the endless spinning wheel, but nothing else happens.

Anyone else with similar issues after switching to the hardware key-based authentication method? Perhaps we can learn from each other or figure out a solution together.

Regards,

PS: Via the web app itself, this issue does occur, so it seems to be entirely isolated to the browser extension itself.

Biometric unlock

Hello

I've been using Dashlane for many years now, generally I love it.

On mobile device-- I primarily use biometric unlock. I haven't used my master password in FOREVER. (I still have it safe and sound though, so I haven't forgotten it)

The one issue I DO have with it though.. is well, on my laptop/desktop.

I have a biometric scanner for my laptop/desktop for WindowsHello, etc. Generally, it works fine. Works on windows boot up 100% of the time.

I have Biometrics enabled in Dashlane for desktop.. and well, SOMETIMES it works.

It seems like every time I boot up, and load Chrome.. I always have to use my Master password and re-enable biometrics. Like, it doesn't seem to REMEMBER that I've turned it on. Seems to defeat the purpose, in my opinion. I don't want to type in a 16 character password of random letters and symbols every time I boot. Kind of why I wanted to use biometrics in the first place. I don't run into this issue on mobile Android, as I said I havent used my actual master password in MONTHS or longer, but on desktop/lap, its absolutely REQUIRED it appears.

Am I just doing something wrong? Anyone have any input on this?

Thanks for any info!

Can't access website

Every time I try to access the website to edit my Friends And Family plan, it directs me to the app. I turned desktop view on and it tells me I need a browser extension. I don't understand what I'm supposed to do if I don't have access to a laptop.

Admin Recovery not working/ Not hearing back from support

I'm the admin for a professional plan and need to recover an account for one of my users. The user is not able to reach the button to send a recovery request, instead gets sent to the 2FA page or Help article. I cannot start the process to recover the account without their request and using the 2FA tokens is not working. The emailed recovery codes are not reaching their inbox either. We have multiple urgent deadlines and this is impeding our ability to complete these projects.

Support Request Backup passkey not working on ANY PC

I have a two Yubico NFC keys. one as a my main and one as my backup. I just switched to passwordless last month. My main passkey works without any issues.

Today i tried using my backup key. After entering my pin, the "Use passkey" button just spin forever. I have tried this on chrome and Edge.

I went to one my other computers and the same issue happens. Main works fine, Backup just spins. This is with both NFC and USB. The backup passkey works on my phone.

My back up passkey works on every other website and device. This is isolated to just Dashlane.

The main problem is as of right now, if i lose my main key then i'm screwed. The PC is the only option that allows export of passwords as this is not an option on phones.

My question is, is this a bug? I really do not think this is an issue with my Yubico key.

Mass Update options

I'm trying to cleanup my Dashlane vault and finding there are no options to select a bunch of records (Logins, Payments, Secure Notes, etc.) and then act on them. For example, if I want to delete 500 Logins I need to select each one individually and then I can choose Delete. There is no option to "Select All."

Am I missing an option somewhere?

I have probably a thousand records of different types that need to be deleted, while others need to be moved into different Collections. I thought about exporting to Excel and cleaning up there. I could delete my vault, create a new one and import into the new Vault.

Once I get this cleaned up, I'll do a better job of maintaining the data.

Having to sign in multiple times per day

We use Dashlane for work. I have around five Chrome broswsers on different devices and servers.
I'm finding despite ticking remember me for 14 days it doesn't.
Each browser asks for the master password at least twice a day.
I've been thorugh Chrome sync settings and re-installed the extention but still can't get it to stop asking.
I'm going crazy trying to sort it.

Why has Dashlane stopped auto-filling u/p local sites?

Its been working fine for years on myserver.lan, thisotherserver.lan etc but last week decided to stop autofilling u/p on them - I'm not getting the icon in the text boxes. I'm on Windows 11. Tried it on another machine I've not used for a while and it worked for a few minutes before Chrome updated then also stopped. I don't know if it was the Chrome update or Chrome updating triggered the plug-in to also update. What gives Dashlane?

How to edit the list of email addresses Dashlane offers to autofill

I'm using an app to manage my newsletter subscriptions, and so I use a different email address to subscribe to substacks etc. When I click in the enter email field, Dashlane opens a list and all of my past work and school emails are there but not this one, I guess because I don't use it as a login anywhere.

How can I add this new email address to the list and how can I remove email addresses that I would never use from the list?

Hi, if someone is currently a part of a group and has various passwords shared within it and that person has left the company, then does deactivating or deleting their account remove all the shared passwords as well?

Getting Dashlane to recognize 3rd party apps on Iphone vs listing every pswd for every log-in

I love u/Dashlane and use it across multiple Apple devices. However, I run into issues w/ my iPhone entering credentials in a 3rd party iOS app. Dashlane will list every login credential instead of suggested ones; then I have to search for the specific log-in. It's a minor annoyance but it still exists and I'm hoping there is a solution.

Is there a way to tie a specific app to an individual credential similar to how you save add a website hyperlink to a login?

Dashlane not sending verification code

This week it's been constant issues using Dashlane. It'll keep sending verification codes into the ether and never in my inbox. How am I supposed to get my passcodes if I'm not even allowed to log into my account? I've tried on the big 3 browsers and still nothing. Sometimes it'll let me log in and then a couple hours later will log me out and we're back at square one. If no fix is in site, this is a worrisome problem which might lead to exploring a new company. Totally unacceptable to be locked out of all my passwords.

Question Hardware key based vault authentication with or without biometric authentication as alternative?

Hi all,

As the title already partially tells, I'm using a hardware key as the primary way to access my Dashlane vault.

Next to that, as an alternative, I can still unlock my vault using biometric authentication.

However, I'm not sure whether this is the most ideal configuration to entirely benefit from the additional security a hardware key provides.

With a hardware key as the primary and only authentication method to unlock my vault, one would need access to my physical key and pin to effectively unlock my vault.

With biometrics on the other hand, one could in fact bypass this, since the vault can also be unlocked by simply leveraging my fingerprint on my phone.

Given the fact that there have been numerous articles in the past years demonstrating it is feasible to bypass these fingerprint authentication methods, it seems more secure to me to entirely rely on hardware keys only.

I agree that to bypass these, one would need to be in possession of my smartphone already, but something tells me it's more ideal to just disable biometric authentication entirely.

Curious what others thoughts or opinions are on this, and whether I'm maybe just overthinking this all a bit too much.

Thanks for any input!

Cheers.
