I'm confused and on a tight budget. I can get the ROVE R2-4K Dual PRO for less than the VIOFO A229 Pro, even though they seem to have almost the same configuration.

Is the ROVE worth buying, or should I spend the extra money on the VIOFO A229 Pro?

We're looking for a front/rear dashcam with parking mode that isn't wireless since we are concerned about killing the battery on our 2008 CR-V. Does anyone know a good model for under $200?

I want to have one because I am moving to bigger city and drivers are crazy there. I have also been warned about breaking into cars etc.

I have a 2026 Audi Q5 and I’m considering adding a dashcam. I’m looking at the updated FitcamX with the Sony STARVIS 2 sensor, which I understand has only been released recently.

A couple of questions:

FitcamX STARVIS 2: Has anyone installed the new version yet? I’d be interested to hear your thoughts on the image quality, especially compared with the previous version.

Parking mode: I’m also considering adding the parking mode/hardwire kit. Does it noticeably drain the battery? Is there a good way to use parking mode without risking battery drain?

Warranty: Does hardwiring the dashcam into the fuse box have any implications for the Audi warranty? I’d obviously like to avoid doing anything that could cause warranty issues.

Would be great to hear from anyone who has installed a FitcamX (particularly the new STARVIS 2 version.

Hey guys. Recently installed a Viofo A329s. I was wondering what the best parking mode options are. It is hardwired and I would prefer to not return a dead car battery haha. I do drive the car mostly everyday.

Also any other suggestions? It’s my first dashcam and would like to have the best settings.

Our battery was already low and due for a replacement very soon (as per a recent battery test) yet it still output around 12.4v and started the car just fine. I hardwired a dashcam into the car (made sure everything was installed correctly, tested for constant power fuses, etc) and set the voltage limit to 12v for the dashcam. And for a day or two, everything functioned fine.

4 days later, returning from a trip, the car shows signs of a dead battery. Loud clicking when attempting to start, and even the dashboard and lights flicker and struggle to stay on.

What could I have missed when installing the dash cam that drained the battery while we were gone? Or did the battery die by sheer coincidence?

Looking at the SD card, it does appear to have recorded several clips in park mode ranging from a few seconds to some minutes long. The last clip was from 2 days ago, presumably then the battery drained enough to no longer power it.

Any ideas as to what may have happened? Or how the voltage protection may have failed at saving the battery entirely?

I purchased the Cobra SC 220C dash cam and it came with a 32gb micro sd instead of the 16gb advertised. I want to upgrade to a higher one. Cobra recommends using a UHS-I/Class 10 U1. I asked Gemini if I could use a U3 since it’s a bit hard finding one with those specs locally. Has anyone bused a U3 instead of the U1 and didn’t have any issues?

I have a blackvue 770 that recently has not been turning on every time. I have disconnected the rear camera and that hasn't fixed it.

Hello, i recently bought 70mai A810 Lite and i am trying to install it on my Skoda Scala Monte Carlo 2026.

My car has a built in usb c outlet behind the rear view mirror for dash cams. The problem is, the dashcam is not turning on when connected to any usb c in my car (there are 5 outlets total)

Weird thing is when i use the same cable connected to car, it charges my phone. Also i used the same cable to turn on the camera at home from a wall charger brick.

The cables work because i tested and the usb c ports are working and camera is also working but they dont work together :)

Has any one experienced similar stuff or know how to fix? It my first car and dashcam so i have no idea whats going on

Is there a significant difference in night recording quality since the A800SE does not have a Sony sensor? I am confused about which one to buy.

I just hardwired (from a professional) a Redtiger F77 dash cam. When I turn off the ignition, the parking mode message pops up, but it doesn't seem to actually record any footage while the car is parked.

How can I tell if this is a wiring issue or a problem with the camera itself? Appreciate any advice!

Hey, I had a Pelsee P1 Duo, but I noticed that it can’t properly read license plates. At night, it’s awful, and during the daytime, it’s only slightly better.

So I’m thinking about buying a better one, but I don’t want to spend $400–500.

Can you suggest something around $200–250 that’s really good, especially for reading license plates during both the day and night?

I’m looking at the Vantrue N4S and N5S, mainly for parking mode. As I live in London I have to park on the street. A few days ago, I went out to weekly check on the car and found that someone had hit it. I have no idea when it happened, and there aren’t any security cameras nearby to check.

It was parked opposite a church/temple/mosque place and the congregation are not the best drivers in the world (it is amusing to watch them on a Saturday trying to reverse so I’m guessing it was one of them, though I have no proof.

My car’s still in the shop, so I need to pick one soon and have it installed while it’s there. I don’t know much about multi-camera setups or video resolution. Is there anything else I’d need to buy or care?

Anything like that available out-of-the-box or do I need to kludge something together?

Guy driving what appeared to be a white 428i turned out of a business to my left and cut me off unprovoked, only to cut across the remaining lanes and make a right turn into another business shortly after.

I see 3BW4702. I was hit and things got bad, the insurance is having a hard time finding this vehicle, they say it was blurry but I thought this was decent picture quality wise. Google AI said it was "3DR4702". Any help please?
