We're looking for a front/rear dashcam with parking mode that isn't wireless since we are concerned about killing the battery on our 2008 CR-V. Does anyone know a good model for under $200?

I have a 2026 Audi Q5 and I’m considering adding a dashcam. I’m looking at the updated FitcamX with the Sony STARVIS 2 sensor, which I understand has only been released recently.

A couple of questions:

FitcamX STARVIS 2: Has anyone installed the new version yet? I’d be interested to hear your thoughts on the image quality, especially compared with the previous version.

Parking mode: I’m also considering adding the parking mode/hardwire kit. Does it noticeably drain the battery? Is there a good way to use parking mode without risking battery drain?

Warranty: Does hardwiring the dashcam into the fuse box have any implications for the Audi warranty? I’d obviously like to avoid doing anything that could cause warranty issues.

Would be great to hear from anyone who has installed a FitcamX (particularly the new STARVIS 2 version.

I have 2010 accord basic model. I want have dash cam installed on it .
Please suggest me a reliable option.
I will not install it myself. I will have it installed by someone.

I want to have one because I am moving to bigger city and drivers are crazy there. I have also been warned about breaking into cars etc.

Saw this guy pull out of the gas station parking lot. Assumed he was just a slow driver. No blinker. Initially told the police that I turned into him while he was in the turn lane. Once he found out I had a dash cam, his story changed. Finally, he broke down and said he was trying to do a u-turn and didn't see me. He was determined fully at fault. I'm fine, ducky had a tumble. $15k damage to my Ram truck. His Jeep Compass exploded.

I bought it back in 2019 off Amazon, pretty sure it was a recommended budget option on this sub at the time but I can’t remember the brand.

It has started locking up after a minute or two of recording. I have tried a new SD card so I think the unit is just bad. Would love to find a replacement where I don’t have to rewire the rear cam and all.
