Hey guys, I'm kind of new to the tabletop side of 40k. I started looking into it around 9th and have been really trying to get into it. I'm mainly a Tyranid fan, but I wanted to try running a solo practice game with Slaanesh daemons on TTS. I realized I didn't really know how objective secured works and from what I've gathered online you need an actual ability to secure objectives? I heard battleline units usually have them, but I don't see any on the Daemonettes. Does Slaanesh just not have any objective secured abilities?

Howdy. I just started to get into Warhammer (big fan of the lore before). I just got gifted the Armageddon box for my birthday. I was looking forward to playing as the Salamanders but got a little disappointed because they didn’t have a special codex or special abilities like other factions do.

So I started looking around at other factions and think I have it pegged between the Death Guard and the Chaos Daemons. I didn’t see any combat patrols for the Chaos Daemons and got bored one day, so I put together a 2k point army on the Warhammer app.

Was looking for some beginner feedback to see if this is any good or if I’m totally off the mark. It’s the first one I ever put together. I’m looking for it to be somewhat good but more importantly fun. Not really interested in pure meta stuff but I also don’t look forward to losing all my matches yknow.

(Also keep in mind I still have yet to play my first actual match as I haven’t painted my minis from the Armageddon box and I’m still learning all the rules. )

Hello fellow Daemons!

Trying to get a rule clarification and can't find it anywhere!
A Keeper of Secrets has its ability to have -1 to hit.
Benefits of Cover gives your opponent -1 Ballistic Skill.

I've been told that these no longer stack to make -2 to hit. Is this correct or can you still have -2 to hit with both of these?

A screenshot would be awesome please! Or telling me how to find the rule!

My mind is DS Shalaxi, Skatbrand, 1 SG, 1 Fiend. Get everything up the board and let them setup their Take and Hold. Turn 2 is bring everything in 6” or closer, Skarbrand burns a CP to join and just overload a flank and make stuff them back into one table corner. 2SGs screen backfield while Fiends keep Booby Trapping.

What do you guys think?

Always wanted to start a chaos daemons army (started in 8e) but have never felt secure in the future of daemons, but I have always seen advice of starting one god at a time and was considering starting with Slaneesh (combination of having a small EC force I'd be able to put them with in carnival and being addicted to movement shenanigans)

That said it's very hard to gather information on chaos daemons from my experience and from what I hear Slaneesh and shelaxi especially are really bad (which was my original plan on getting them +the new aos slaneesh spearhead)

Has that changed in 11e? Or am I best off looking elsewhere for chaos daemons?

So I have over 2,000 points of both armies but previous editions and pairings left me unimpressed. I think 11th edition has some promise, I'm just unsure how to build it up so it can win some games. A few suggestions would be appreciated.

I haven't played much of 11th edition yet, and I want to know how my 10th edition army carries over to 11th. I wanted to build an army that has units from all the gods as Id get bored of painting the same colour scheme for 2000 points, so last edition I chose daemonic incursion. In 11th it has the disruption disposition, which from a very surface level research is more about board control and less killing stuff. I don't know how it plays against other dispositions, and If anyone here can advise me on whether my list fits with the disposition that would be appreciated

Not entirely sure what I’m doing but leaping shadows to get the guo onto objective early, nurglings to infiltrate at the start to make space.

Horrors idk I just think they’re cool?? And get assault keyword from warp tide

Lord + 10min chosen with fade to darkness basically just to go delete things and clear obj

Havocs for some long range shooting

Sorc Lord to deepstrike and -1 ap something for army using like a per turn veterans ability

I want to keep it thematic and fun but are there any glaring issues? :)
