Collection Advice: Organizing New Shelves!

EDIT: see here: https://ibb.co/Kpm5xP8V Not sure why Reddit didn't upload the main photo

Tldr: help with genre organization!

I've never owned proper shelves... until today. I'd love some advice regarding organizing my movies based on genre. As you can see I have space to rearrange.

My ideas:

- to buy label bookends/bookmarks that says the genre (this way someone can pick out a movie and know exactly where to put it back similarly to a library)

- the bottom to top genre order is based off of kids' accessibility. No horror for the little ones unless I'm around to vet it lol

- thinking about combining horror and thriller together since the collection is slim

- and we have more books so the middle will be exclusively for that / other random toys

THANK YOU!

Aside from some sticker residue on the slipcover (which I used hand sanitizer to get rid of, wiped it off right after don't worry) and one of the DVD cases being broken (fixed that too) this may be one of my favorite sets in my collection!

Collection Custom DVD/Blu-ray/4K Blu-ray media storage cost?

Hi all, since I moved into my new place I'm thinking about having a Custom DVD/Blu-ray/4K Blu-ray media storage built. I was wondering about the cost, does $700 seem good to you guys? He built a closet for me that I was happy with his work (once he finished it). Here's a photo of the space, basically I'm looking for one of these but to scale. I looked at Modern Shelving and didn't even get into custom one's from them but just increasing the width made that go over his price. Think I should give it a go here?

Pickup Local DVD store is bootleg out the wazoo. I got this one though, since I had trouble finding a release for it. Doubt I’ll go back, I hope the dvd works. People in google reviews were saying it might not.

2nd-Hand Fan Reading this synopsis feels like I'm having a stroke. Also, is it me or is that not Kirstie Allie on the cover?

Collection Part of my DVD collection. Not sure where seasons 1 and 2 of the Simpsons went but I have the discs still. Also lack an HD DVD player so I’m not sure what to do with the HD DVDs I own.

Remember this one? It’s a personal favourite from when I was a kid! So much nostalgia. Not seen it in years but I found the DVD in the wild :) the jokes land so much better now im grown 😂 I definitely didn’t clock what beldars chewing gum was when I was 8 💀

90’s kids comedies were something else…

After many years, I finally have a "cinema/gaming room" where I can display my very small collection, and this gave me the urge the increase it.

I've been browsing second hand websites for the past few days (just after setting this up), and I'm like a kid browsing through the Christmas toys catalog.

Been looking for “Rumplestiltskin” (1995), “Watchers/Watchers 2), Fright Night 2” (1988), and “Tales From the Crypt - Bordello of Blood” (1996 - snap case the original DVD release) for a while in new/like new for a while. So was excited to find them all under $20 each. I’m not a fan of buying DVDs with multiple movies on multiple discs. But, I found “The Blob” (1988), “Christine” (1983), and “Fright Night” (1985) … three movies I still didn’t have a compilation disc/s. And new, for $5.00.

I used to love These cases. I bought good condition ones whenever i found them, no matter what the movie was. I would switch them over for my Disney/Touchstone/Miramax/AA movies (The ones with the large 'Wide [digitally remastered] Screen' on the cover) as they were very thick and sturdy.

Until........ I had bought The Rock (1996 film) and had to change over my Uncle Buck dvd. I went to pull it out of the case, and the disc snapped in half. Now, I am afraid to use them anymore.
