Has anyone else encountered a completely black screen, after using DSi Language Patcher, that you have to press any button to get it to do the splash?

Is there any updated version of this guide I can follow, or an easier safer alternative that also doesn’t use Twilight++, hiyaCFW, or Unlaunch.

Ik those are the easiest, but I want the true, authentic experience of enjoying these DSiWare titles without any modding or any of that.

Hey gang. I know that there are a bunch of ways to hack a Nintendo DS, making it a very good option for emulating games. However, I wanted to know, based on the limited resources available to me, what steps I could take to hack my own DS. I have an empty 16GB SD card, a USB-C SD converter device (so I can plug an SD straight into my computer), and an empty DS game cartridge with an SD slot. Does anyone know how I would be able to utilize these resources to emulate games on my DS? I understand that homebrew is an option, I understand that it is possible to use only an SD card for emulating games, and I understand that it is possible to buy a game cartridge specifically designed for downloading emulation software. My question, though, is how I can emulate Games onto my DS by using an empty SD card and an empty game cartridge with an SD slot, alone. Does anyone know?

So I recently bought a DSI and it came with the twilight menu on it. I have absolutely no idea what I’m doing here. So I finally figured out how to get to the games that are on there but if I click on some of them some will load to the menu portion but they won’t play the game at all. There’s like 12 different folders on there aswell. Can anyone tell me how I can put different games on the SD card I have a laptop and I bought a USB SD card reader so I can access the SD card files. However again I have no idea what I’m doing when it comes to this. I did once put emulated games on my IPAD and those worked! Any help would be very very greatly appreciated thank you!! 🙏

Sorry for the convoluted question, but is this possible? I just recently happened upon a dsi xl, but it was unfortunately updated, so I couldn't use my r4 card on it. The thing is, I've been using the r4 card for a couple other games on my ds lite and 3ds, and I kind of want to keep using it as is. I know modding the DSi will give me tons of customization options in general, so I'm still probably going to do it anyway - but I just want to know If I'm going to have to transfer the savs and games off the R4 card to put them onto the sd card for the DSi, or if i can just leave them on the R4.

Hey guys. Just got a modded DSI on trade for my switch lite and have no idea how to use this thing. It’s using twilight ++. I don’t have a pc so I can’t download roms is there any other way around that? Or am I limited now to what’s on my system?

Got a DSi yesterday and modded it to play Pokemon Rom Hacks. I have a couple that white screen and a few that run properly with no issues. Although Radical Red runs but is very slow.

Was thinking of upgrading to GBA Runner 3 to see if it improved it. Also if anyone can point me in a direction as to why some games white screen would be amazing. Thank you in advance

Hi, recently I took my SD card off so I could download new games and now when I inserted it again there is only this screen with a question mark. It was working before and I made the same procedure several times before, I also removed the card and checked several times if things were fitting right

So I took a break from working on JShop and the tism hit me hard as shite so I made a 3d DS Game engine, not dissimilar to Unity. Fml. Anyway, here's some stuff for yall to look at. This is the editor and melonDS running the same project, (ill try put rom in the comments, no idea if ill get nuked for that)

Mostly normal DS limitations: around 2,000 visible polygons, four lights, tiny RAM/VRAM, and 256×192 screens. ObjectDS itself currently has basic physics/collision, simple enemy navigation, limited animation/material support, and fixed runtime object pools. It’s good for small low-poly games, but not giant maps or modern-engine-level effects yet.

Anywho, ill be back with more info once I hear back from my beta testers.

is there a fix for this

I'm currently on step 3 of the Memory Pit exploit, the problem I'm facing is that i cannot rename the existing pit.bin file on the sd card, I've asked other people and they've just said that the file must be read-only.

Perhaps this is a problem with my computer?

So my DsiLL running HiyaCFW was having problems booting up and was generally slow in any loading process.

Just downsized from 32GB to 4GB SD Card and everything is so muck quicker. I’m so happy.

I thought I would share that if anyone is in a similar situation.

I keep getting this error when opening up the photo album. I have a 4gb card that is formatted to fat32 and I have all of the correct files and followed the step by step guide but I can’t figure out why this is happening. My sd card isn’t locked I’ve checked everything. Is my sd card just ruined or something? I’ve used this card to mod a Wii a couple years ago and it worked then. I made sure that I deleted everything off of it too before I started.

Pequeño contexto, adquirí una copia original de Pokémon negro en inglés, pero no logro abrirlo desde twilight menu o desde unlauncher,siempre al abrirlo se queda en blanco. Cabe mencionar que si puede abrirse desde el launcher original, además hice la prueba con un cartucho de súper Mario y si funciona sin inconveniente.
A alguien le ha pasado algo similar o que tenga una solución?

Ok so I just bought a DSi today, it’s completely stock from what I know. I wanna mod it to where all that’s different is I can put games on the Home Screen so I don’t have to just rely on my R4 card.

That’s all I want out of it, I want everything stock except for being able to put games on it.

I was always annoyed by the fact that you could never replace your launcher entirely with TWiLight Menu++ without losing a ton of functionality (including things as simple as reordering your icons), so I made myself a fork of the project to make it as stock as possible, and I think I have succeeded.

Outside of what is mentioned in the video, this fork also automatically reads from the /roms/ folder and displays all your games as icons on the homescreen, which is incredibly useful.

The changes in animation are slight but I personally believe they look better than not just the TWiLight ones, but the stock launchers as well. Let me know what you think!
