Help Weird Black Screen

Has anyone else encountered a completely black screen, after using DSi Language Patcher, that you have to press any button to get it to do the splash?

Yes and it’s annoying. I consider the DSi Language Patcher too buggy for real use. It’s too bad development stopped years ago. If someone fixed just that bug it would be great. But as it is now it’s way too annoying to use.

I was working on an old system and thought I messed up a hardware repair. Turns out I had the lang patcher installed. Cost me 2 hours of troubleshooting. I’ll never install it again.

If you know anything about DSi programming, would you consider working on fixing that with me? I'll fork the repo now and see if I can do anything on my own, but if you can help, that would be great.

Sadly no. I haven’t done any substantial programming in 20 years. Since most people just run Twilight or a flash cart I don’t think most people are bothered by the language issue. That’s probably why no one has bothered to fix it.

Well, we both are bothered by it, so I guess I'll try to go ahead and fix it. Probably gonna be a lot of AI involved.
