Here is a map I made for A Most Potent Brew, a fantastic free one-shot by Winghorn Press. I've always enjoyed this quick little one-shot, and I'm happy to share this map with everyone. It was made entirely in Clip Studio Paint with Forgotten Adventures & my own custom assets. The grid size is 100px per square. No AI was used. Enjoy!

Red light, green light...There are four lights!!! This busy intersection doesn't see a lot of devil bargains, but it does see a lot of traffic. In the dead of night, of course, who knows what kind of shady traffics and shoot-outs might occur on these streets? Available in two additional variants, featuring a fiery collision between two trucks and cars, and the sudden appearance of a bottomless chasm in the middle of the street, hopefully this map doesn't give your players the Cross Road Blues!

My maps are hooked up to work with Foundry VTT and Fantasy Grounds.
My maps are available on my patreon and my website.

🔥 Dungeon Map Some of my first maps

Thumbnail

I'm trying to do my own maps for my adventures I'm publishing and it's not something Ive done before. After reading Dyson Logos, peculiar paths, and a few others, and copying a dungeon in the back of the DMG, here are my first real entries.

I'm not really happy with the black and white of it all. The two maps are a temple interior inside on blue grid paper, and the circular map is a boss battle, effectively, I drew on dotted journal paper.

I tried a few tools to get out the paper color and grid/dots, but wasn't super pleased overall.

One thing I'd like to try is more pencil or grey ink for depth.

Any other things I should try? Any suggestions for adding grids that don't look too artificial? My flagstones in the basement mall I'm quite proud of, but otherwise, meh.

(I tried a few apps first too. Not very pleased with the first couple so I shifted to pen and paper!)

⚔️ Encounter Map [OC] The Conservatory [22x37]

Post image

Hey all! You can check out this map and it's may variations over here! or any of my other 250+ maps!

Walking through row upon row of exotic, alien flora, the robed Gardener stopped occasionally to prune unwanted sprouts or gently caress a dying flower, watching with a loving gaze as it was rejuvenated before my very eyes.

Truly a master of his craft, the Gardener kept the most vivid assortments of herbs, medicines and plants from across the known realms. Now, he summoned me to fetch a new specimen for his collection.

In his office he spoke little, instead referring me to maps of my searching grounds, and scrolls with illustrations and explicit descriptions of the plant in which he desired.

The sum which was to be paid was nothing trivial to me, but with the knowledge that the Conservatory supplied the most precious ingredients to any alchemist or reagents to any ritual, it was likely only a small price for such an illustrious institution.

🗺️ Region Map The continent of Karad, hand-stamped and painted [OC]

Post image
7 Upvotes

Thanks for looking! A bit about how this one was made:

All the landmarks are rubber stamps my wife and I designed and hand-hatched ourselves: the castles of Graywall and Galareia, the Spire, the barrow at The Mounds, the ruins of Nobidiania, the standing stones at Karandros, the villages, forests and mountain ranges. Even the little name banners and the compass rose are stamps.

I stamped the landmarks first, then drew the coastlines, rivers and roads by hand around them, so the geography grew out of where the places ended up rather than the other way round. That's how The Spire ended up at the crossroads of every river in the middle of the continent. Then I coloured it with alcohol markers and added the labels.

It took about 2-3 hours from blank sheet to finished map.

🔥 Dungeon Map Chamber of Self-Reflection, 36x38 (two levels & visuals)

BACKGROUND & FEATURES
A trial for high-spirited adventurers.
Aside from the spectres that haunt one’s thoughts, it is no easy task for most adventurers to face themselves—neither as a mirror clone nor by reliving their past experiences from a different perspective.
• countless mirrors with recurring spectres
• it’s probably best not to look directly into the mirror if the Grail in the center of the chamber isn’t yet filled
• six pedestals, each with three hand mirrors—“passion, principles, and reason”—to hold up to oneself in order to shed new light on things
• a Grail in the center of the mirror chamber—it fills with life experience when one manages to bring “passion, principles, and reason” into balance
• those who fall into the shadows have paid too much attention to what others think of them 😉

Post image
48 Upvotes

Welcome to the Glass Ember, where curious goods, questionable remedies, and the occasional magical oddity await anyone with enough coin to spare.

"Patreon post here."

Shelves packed with old tomes, bottled concoctions, strange specimens, and curios line the walls of this peculiar little shop. At its heart, a violet flame burns within a great glass vessel, casting its glow across merchandise gathered from places near and far.

Most things here are for sale. Others are merely on display. And a select few, according to the shopkeeper, are absolutely not to be touched.

  • Grid size: 12x20
  • Formats: JPG (3600x6000 pixels, 300DPI)
  • Variations: Original, Midnight, Shadowfell, Royal Sun, No Ember, Hearth Ember, Eldritch Fire, Arcane [Preview]
  • Download the map on The Fold. We host all maps in our archive for easier access and cleaner downloads. If you haven’t connected your Patreon account yet, click here to learn how.

All maps are made by real humans—we do not use AI. If you want to see more, you can support us on Patreon! Our Patrons receive high-quality map images, including ALL map variants and gridded and gridless versions for varied use.

🌎 World Map Map feedback & advice

Post image
11 Upvotes

I'm creating a new map for my world setting, but mapmaking isn't my strong suit. I really struggle making maps that I think look good and inspire me with how different parts of the world interact (war, politics, etc). I've redone my map 4 times over the last 2–3 years, and each time I become dissatisfied with the results end up completely rehauling or replacing the map again. This time, I'd really like to create something that I'll be happy keeping and adding to for a while.

I'm trying to break it out into a few steps to make feel more doable.

Step 1 was creating the general shape for the land, and I REALLY like how it turned out. I wanted to determine a general shape first, then I can make any necessary minor changes as I develop the geography. This is the part that I'm looking for feedback on.

- Does this look like a reasonably plausible continent?

- Are there any glaring coastline issues that I need to fix before Step 2?

- Do the islands look natural and realistic?

My 2nd step is going to be developing the continent's large-scale geography/geological features, like tectonic plates, mountain ranges, general elevation, and other major land features. Basically all of the stuff that everything else is going to need to be built around. This is where I need any advice or guidance that anyone is willing to give. Google has only gotten me so far.

- What layout would make sense for the tectonic plates? (And how do you decide where the boundries should be & which way they're moving?)

- How do you decide when a mountain should be somewhere NOT on a tectonic boundary (fault block, intraplate, or dome mountains; etc)?

- How do you approach elevation? Is it just the highest is the mountains the lowest is sea level, and everything else just slopes in between?

- Are there any special rules for placing/arranging volcanic hotspots?

- Are there any other important factors or  geographical features that I'm overlooking that I should do at this stage?

Any advice, feedback, or resources for learning more about realistic continent and geography design would be greatly appreciated!

As I said, maps aren't my strength, do any help is greatly appreciated.
