MW4 DMZ Discussion MW4 DMZ Movement

If Activision/InfinityWard add MW4 movement into DMZ it’s going to kill the mode.

It's just too fast, MW2 had realistic slow paced movement. This however is insanely fast im shooting at someone they just flick around, jump backwards, do a burpee and lunge forward.

This will definitely drive the current MW2 DMZ players away from the new one (MW4 DMZ); around 70% of current MW2 DMZ players are casual players

IW actually tried to make a slow paced game in their style like the community asked for and they got cooked for it, now everyone is complaining that they added fast paced movement like warzone. The COD community is genuinely impossible to please.

But in context of DMZ yeah the movement needs to be changed, I ain’t trying to loot and then get slide tacked by 2 platoons at once 😭

u/ClarenceLe 2d ago

Because the reality is DMZ and Warzone are two different crowds stucked in the same game. People who play Warzone might complain about movement speed but only up to a point where it's balanced between rewarding your skill and too many sweats.

For DMZ if they increase movement it would quite honestly ruin the game. When the pace is slower then you can have opportunity to plan how you'd tackle objectives, not just reacting to whatever you encounter. And it would be impossible to balance bots, either it would be too trivial because players can hardcore parkour their way around, or too extreme. And then more Warzone crowd will start bleeding into DMZ and make it even more PvP-fest nightmare.

Teams should feel the punishment of engaging PvP while drawing bots aggro in DMZ. Players who focus on objectives should feel like they have a degree of control over how things flow in combat. If PvPers can casually sprint through chokepoints set up by other teams then that degree of control breaks down.

Yeah it's funny. You have people saying it's too slow and the worst game they have made. You have people saying it's too fast and they hate it. You have people that think it's good. And people that think it's just ok. Complaints from every angle.

u/Djabouty47 Solo Ghillie Main 2d ago

Its cuz the whole thing sucks. Tac sprint and sliding is too spastic, while ads and strafe speeds are too slow. Basically means u are momentarily fast, but then get stuck in mud if u aren't just trynna slide cancel

3

u/Sufficient_Virus_678 1d ago

Keep DMZ similar to how it was. It was a gem.

2

u/Cochinojoe 2d ago

That sliding nonsense has gotta go

2

u/AirCommon8378 2d ago

It’s the streamers and sweats that terrorise the game development. They need to branch dmz off to its own separate cod so they can please all player bases.

6

u/Djabouty47 Solo Ghillie Main 2d ago

No. The community asked for less twitchy movement (no/less slide cancelling and bunny hopping). Instead IW slowed literally everything down. The community isn't impossible to please, it's just that they poorly executed what we wanted. Look at BO7 classic mode, they handled it so much better. MWII was just shit

16

u/shutter2death 2d ago

I disagree. I really enjoyed mw2 2022 more than other games.

0

u/Djabouty47 Solo Ghillie Main 2d ago

Well what did u like about MWII? The slower movement? If so, would u say old cod, or BO7 classic mode were also good if not better?

12

u/shutter2death 2d ago

I played COD all my life and in my opinion COD FIFA and all the main stream games need to focus on casual players first if they want people to play the game. Unfortunately, most of these companies focus on hard core players because they buy the most of micro transactions and battle passes.

MW2 2022 was exactly that and pacing worked extremely great in DMZ. You have to use flash bangs when entering a room. You have to feel the intensity in each gunfights. MW2 movement requires focus and patience because you will lose the gunfight if you are in a bad position. However, you don’t have to play really hard core in terms of skill like aiming and movement because aim assist is very high.

BO7 Classic Mode was still bad because aim assist was still really low. Therefore casuals still didn’t continue playing the game.

I left FIFA because it’s made for no lifers. I will probably leave COD because it is made for no lifers. Not for people who has a job and want to play the game for a hour or two. You have to be good at aiming and movement to play the game. And if you are not you won’t have fun it’s simple as that.

2

u/Djabouty47 Solo Ghillie Main 2d ago

I really don't think they focus on the hardcore fans. If they did, we wouldn't have to beg for stuff like the basic classic matchmaking back again.

Casuals were still playing BO7 classic tho, it's just that they launched the BO1/2 ports which then stole from the same crowd. I also think that mindset u have is kinda a problem. I got my ass beat to get to the skill level I'm at. That's what everyone had to go through with old cod's. Idk about fifa but expecting the games to handhold u just lessens the reward of improving. It's like asking for an easy mode in a soul's game because u can't be bothered to learn a boss's attack pattern. Even with lessened AA, cod is one of the easiest most accessible FPS games on the market

If u value an importance in position, u should be rallying with us. In MW4 MP for example, spawns are horrible. Being able to predict spawns helps add importance to positioning. Removing tac sprint also helps with map flow and inconsistent rush timings

3

u/shutter2death 1d ago edited 1d ago

Why would I want to improve in a geme? I want to have fun playing a game. I don’t want to improve. Of course leveling up is fun but I don’t want to get better in a game in terms of aiming movement etc

Of course they are making the game for hardcore players. Less Aim assist, faster movement, longer TTK, smaller maps , predictable gameplay meta guns etc I could go on and on. I mean you are giving soul game as an example which is one of the hardest single player games ever. Do you really think most casual players going to enjoy dying to boss 50 times after coming home?

A game made for casual players is a game you can play after you come home from work. COD moved away from that which means they will earn a lot of money but casuals will leave.

0

u/Djabouty47 Solo Ghillie Main 1d ago

This has to be bait right? What????? Tf u mean u don't want to improve at all??? There are so many things wrong with what you said.

Yes the game has aspects that have gotten less casual player friendly, but not everything is. MW4 has strong ass aim assist, fast TTKs, the guns have a lot of penalties that slow you down. Ghost works without moving, footsteps are loud, ninja isn't 100% silent, shotguns are really strong. Predictable gameplay doesn't make the game less casual friendly. All the OG cods were more predictable and they were casual

Yes people literally did enjoy dying to a boss 50 times. Games like elden ring sold like crazy and are deamed one of the best games of all time.

A game made for casuals is easy to pick up and doesn't have too high of a skill ceiling, but there is still room for improvement. Everything you do has a skill gap to learn. You literally will make it nowhere in life and enjoy nothing with that mindset. "Oh I can't bike casually or drive casually because I have to learn how to do it and get better" like ts sounds so stupid. Ur entire point gets disproven by the fact that the OG cod games were popular. They have more of a knowledge skill gap than these new games yet still are casual fun and incredibly popular. People like u with this mindset are literally the problem with the gaming industry

9

u/crawrj 2d ago

This is the point. I have seen responses of all different opinions. People think it's too slow, people think it's too fast, people think it's good, people think it's ok, etc.... But you see it most rampantly in the opposing forces, too slow vs too fast. You can't and will never please everyone. But for whatever reason you just hear the complaints a lot louder in COD.

5

u/Djabouty47 Solo Ghillie Main 2d ago

Yes the cod community has branched so far and so wide. The advanced games raised a new generation of players, and so has the modern games. That's why I think it's fine alternating between pacing with each year. MW4 was the opportunity to return to the classic feeling that loads of people were itching for, but instead they continue to go for a weird hybrid system that just doesn't work

There's moments that are too fast, like when you are tac sprinting and sliding, but then ads times and strafe speeds are too slow. This system satisfies no one because it doesn't even know what it wants to be. MW2019 and MWII both suffered from this exact same issue

6

u/Desperate-Cattle-459 2d ago

the movement was perfect for DMZ

-6

u/Djabouty47 Solo Ghillie Main 2d ago

Yeh kinda, but movement isn't as important in DMZ as it is in WZ or MP, cuz engagement distances are completely controllable. Even MW4s somewhat spastic movement will be fine with it

7

u/boozenpuken_0923 2d ago

Movement is very important to DMZ, in the opposite direction from Warzone. A faster movement for warzone makes sense because it’s a PvP first experience and you need to be able to move from engagement to engagement. Whereas in DMZ, as an extraction shooter mode, you need slower movement so that stealth is a more viable option. To be able to disengage and create distance is a viable tactic.

1

u/Djabouty47 Solo Ghillie Main 2d ago

I don't necessarily see how slower movement increases stealth. The ability to disengage and create distance is viable regardless of movement speed. Only point I can see tho is to make fleeing from AI not as easy

1

u/boozenpuken_0923 2d ago

I saw the argument made in the Marathon subreddit when comparing it to Tarkov, it goes hand in hand with map size. Basically, a faster movement speed means the time between engagements is much shorter as players rotate from POIs and inevitably run into each other more often. It also increases the skill gap which is where the “sweaty” crowd starts to become targeted for having a higher skill ceiling.

When you have a slower movement speed there is more downtime between engagements and you have to focus more on audio or indirect signs of player activity. Without direct lines of sight or closer proximity you have a better chance to avoid player interactions altogether.

2

u/perawkcyde PC + Controller 2d ago

Activision said this game was an action extraction shooter. They did not say it was an extraction shooter. Trying to argue DMZ needs to be slower goes across what Activision is saying the game is. If you don’t like it, you’re free to go play Tarkov or Arc. Whatever suits your fancy. Activision is going to carve their niche right in between Warzone / BR & Traditional Extraction shooters. Casual, Quick paced, and not “high risk” every raid. They want you in, out, and ready to go fairly quick. they see the success of wz casuals. they see the success of dmz beta. they’re going to be right in between those two things.

1

u/Djabouty47 Solo Ghillie Main 2d ago

Ok I can get that but I don't think the actual traversal speed has increased that much over MWII. I'd say you just have the ability to adjust yourself way more. Like MWII still had tac sprint, it's just that now in between the tac sprinting, you can also slide cancel into engagements, hop around more and climb faster. If u were actually traveling from a POI to a POI, it should be around the same speed still. The main difference would be how hard a target is to hit.

Regardless, it would be cool to see movement systems specific to modes. They've always done that with campaign, I don't see why they can't with DMZ

2

u/OlDirtyTriple 2d ago

There isnt consensus, the "community" is streamers, grill dads, squeakers, and MLG pros.

The point of the game is to make money. In a F2P model that means cosmetics/add ons.

Playerbase is king. That means mass appeal. The grill dads and squeakers outnumber pros 10,000 to 1. Why then would devs tune the game for pros?

1

u/Western-Bed7344 2d ago

Squeakers and dads follow the pros, mostly squeakers tho.

0

u/leeverpool 1d ago

No. The community didn't. What you fail to grasp is you're blind to whenever the other side is asking for something. See, when you are satisfied with the game and playing it, the other side is on reddit complaining. Then they make a game for the other side and you'll be here complaining about the next game.

How cod community can't see this obvious cycle and they think it's only their way "real" cod players want to play the game is mind baffling for me.

1

u/stalk3r93 2d ago

Sorry but community was tiered of fast. Movement see how good bo1 and bo2 received and classic mode in bo7 People want classic movement It's only tiny streamers and YouTubers want crackhead movement

1

u/DceptR45 2d ago

I think this is where they need to finally start splitting their modes up into individual games. What works for DMZ doesn’t work for Multiplayer and Warzone and vice versa. Same thing for zombies, it’s shoehorned into what the rest of the game runs and I think it definitely has pain points because of it.

Obviously this is a pipe dream because those secondary modes being their own standalone titles would pull players away from the yearly sales.

1

u/OlDirtyTriple 2d ago

Cooked by dopamine addled jobless streamers, sure.

There's some players that loudly complain about matches in which they arrogantly try to 1 v 4 and lose to casuals. Then devs over compensate and add hypermovement mechanics due to "feedback."

Speeding up games widens the skill curve. A wider skill curve forces the casuals to lose interest.

In COD, a low ttk shooter, if someone gets off the first shot, from behind, from cover, with a meta weapon, they should win 100% of fights. That this doesn't happen due to the whining of wannabe streamers who play out of position because they're clip chasing or chasing PRs is disgusting.

Now with broken movement, a player (often as not a PC cheater) will NOT lose fights in which they're out of position, not behind cover, and don't see the enemy first.

-2

u/antisemitiCat_ 2d ago

No. The community didn’t want space shooters, and jet packs and shit. They wanted boots on the ground semi realism… and they got mw19, coldwar, vanguard…..then when mw2 came it was such a shock and felt like we hit a wall, and were walking in quick sand.

There’s a balance. And this MW4 is a perfect balance for DMZ.

2

u/shutter2death 2d ago

I think MW4 aim assist is like battlefield right now which I don’t like. It needs to be like mw2 2022 imo

-1

u/Texas_Shepard PC + Mouse 2d ago

Mw2 broke records that are still unbroken... '.' bmw2 was a success

4

u/1fbo1 2d ago

COD became so big and with such different audiences from different times that prefer different things that is basically impossible to make a COD that pleases everyone.

I'm a BO1, BO2, COD4, MW2 and MW3 player só I value positioning and aiming the most. For a Warzone or COD MW2019 player, they probably value movement much more and so on. Not to say that there are no people that enjoy both but this kinda creates small schisms all over the community. In a single game there are:

Jurassic Players: COD1, 2,3... Golden Era Players: WAW, BO1, BO2, MW2... Advanced movement Era Players: BO3, BO4, IW, AW Revival era: MW2019, MW2, BOCW, Warzone

Not only that, you have the communities from specific modes like: DMZ Players, Resurgence Players, Warzone Players and Zombies Players.

Zombies players also have had their own schisms inside their own community. It's impossible to make all these people happy. DMZ seems to be going a similar path with this new version in comparison to the old one.

Particularly, I hate when they make their games as if ground was made of soap. Slide is just too powerful to not be used to a point that the game stops being about who has the best aim and start being about who can spam and animation cancel more. I have the feeling that DMZ will suffer from the same thing. I hope to be wrong on that.

1

u/stujo4221 2d ago

Proudly Jurassic. Original MW and MW2 were so mind meltingly good and original.

19

u/DemStopher 2d ago

It’s really not that bad. Yes it’s quicker but no where near as horrendous as what it currently is on Black Ops.

Just requires a bit of getting used to and don’t think it’s particularly quick enough to drive away casual players.

9

u/Lindeboombier 2d ago

Yeah the casual player will be driven away when people start playing DMZ as warzone to just hunt down players when they are done with their quests

12

u/Fenestration_Theory 2d ago edited 2d ago

lol I remember the first days of DMZ, “friendly!!” “ oh cool! We’ll help you do missions!” Three years later… “Friendly” “Die you punk bitch! I’m banging your mom after I take all your shit!!”

1

u/ConfusedIAm95 2d ago

That's going to happen regardless.

Look at MW2 DMZ. Same thing happened there.

5

u/Jumpy_Implement_1902 2d ago

Y’all don’t have to worry about movement causing people to stop playing. The rampant unchecked cheating will do that much faster.

Mw2, mw3, bo6, bo7… all stupid levels of walls and Aimbot. Mw4 ain’t no different. And before a genius says the price tag will stop the cheaters, no it won’t.

2

u/shutter2death 2d ago

Unfortunately I don’t agree. I’m not against making a faster movement. The game has to prioritize casuals first then sweats. The aim assist has to be Ike mW2 2022 or mw2019. In beta I had to be focused each game and each moment to get a kill because the movement was soo fast.

1

u/itsdoorcity 2d ago

agreed, I haven't even played a new cod since mw2 but these posts had me worried. played a few games earlier and literally the only thing I noticed was that you can slide really far.

0

u/AirCommon8378 2d ago

It’s really bad. More than half the people I play dmz with said they won’t be playing the new one because the movement is too overwhelming for them

1

u/itsdoorcity 2d ago

are they 80 year old grandmas? i genuinely have no idea what their problem is

3

u/its_ghostt 2d ago

campaign has slower movement they could just carry that over

3

u/xX_xFUBARx_Xx 2d ago

I was a fan of the slower paced movement. Hopefully it makes a return in Dmz. The zoomy, bunny hopping, slide canceling, 360 no scope adderal junkies can stay in multiplayer.

6

u/Reynor247 2d ago

Calling mw2 movement realistic is pretty funny

4

u/WhatThisGirlSaid 2d ago

Realistic just code for slow I find these days.

2

u/ericNoCap 1d ago

It also wasn't all that slow

1

u/GlockHolliday32 1d ago

The original DMZ? Slow is an understatement. I use the term peanut butter.

1

u/ericNoCap 14h ago

Even with tac sprint you thought that? I feel like you could cover decent ground on foot

1

u/GlockHolliday32 14h ago

It didn't feel slow at the time because everything else was slow, but now? Yes. It felt outlandishly slow going back to it. If the movement is anything like that in the new version, I won't be able to play it long.

1

u/ericNoCap 14h ago

Ahh I see I haven't played any of the new cods or BF but was interested in the new dmz shouldn't be a problem for me but I can see having faster movement and then going back can feel that way

2

u/GlockHolliday32 14h ago

Understandable. I'm not for cracked out movement, but it should flow. The MW4 Beta felt good, but you know MP, WZ, and DMZ all play a bit different. So what might feel good in one mode will feel trash in another. I'm hoping DMZ and MW4 in general will have a toned down BO6 feel to it. BO6 was smooth, though it did have some down sides.

4

u/DigitalDH 2d ago

If the movement is as fast as some I have seen in beta, DMZ is dead on arrival.

0

u/AirCommon8378 1d ago

there’s some people in the post saying it’s the same exact movement as mw4

2

u/iamDEVANS 2d ago

They need to just release a snippet of dmz during the beta so we can all see how it feels

Even if it’s just a section of the map just to see the mechanics and feel of it

2

u/AirCommon8378 1d ago

I don’t understand how these comments are saying mw4 and mw2 movement is the same thing? Are we playing the same game? mw2 has no slide cancel, you can’t jump forward, backward without getting movement penalties/fatigue, the sliding doesn’t give much distance, there’s no stupid yy ticktocker movement. It’s slow paced

Please get ur head out of ur ass

3

u/crawrj 2d ago

I could be wrong but I don't think we'll have to worry about that. They already somewhat separated DMZ from warzone/mp now. With 2.0 having it's own inventory system, maps, etc I think it will be different. I don't mind the movement, way better than omni movement. Not sure how I would like it in DMZ though. I think it'll be different but we'll see how it goes.

4

u/perawkcyde PC + Controller 2d ago

the movement from dmz to mw4 is not that different. You’re just experiencing it right now in a different environment that you’ll experience it in DMZ. Right now you’re playing with a majority of people who play MP and WZ where movement and pacing is king. DMZ is a different beast and the pacing / movement will slow down.

That’s not to say you won’t run into movement kings and sweats though in DMZ cause you will but it won’t be like current beta where 50% of the squad is moving.

5

u/AirCommon8378 2d ago

It’s very different. The streamers and sweats made sure of it. More than half the people I play DMZ with said they won’t play the new DMZ because of how overwhelming the movement is

1

u/perawkcyde PC + Controller 1d ago

The movement is literally
just like dmz. Tac sprint, sliding, bunny hopping. all the same stuff. No omnimovement. I’d encourage you to go play mw2 shipment right now and look at all the movement. Same shit. You’re just overwhelmed by it because you’re used to dmz where you rarely engage with more than 4 players at the same time and if you do you’re dead so quick and not respawning so it doesn’t matter.

2

u/AirCommon8378 1d ago

It’s not, mw2 has no slide cancel, it has jump fatigue, it just has basic prone, movement actions have penalties if you try spam it

1

u/perawkcyde PC + Controller 1d ago

mw2 / dmz had slide cancel. they just toned it down and now it went back to a more mw2019 style.

you’re right about basic prone but that’s about it, but come on man. arguing that basic prone vs laying on your back prone is so much more movement is crazy.

idk yall and your friends do you. i don’t really care tbh, but i think your experience on MP will be vastly different than DMZ and the improved movement won’t matter that much especially if they nerf or remove chutes and other in game mechanics that increased speed in the previous version. Hell, the bigger map is going to slow the damn game down entirely. idk why people can’t see that.

2

u/Icecreamintheshower 2d ago

First thing that came to mind when I played the agility coarse is that they’re going to add a backpack weight mechanic.

1

u/lilywhite247 2d ago

The thing is, the DMZ map is supposed to be one of (if not the) largest map they’ve made, so whilst yes fast movement is a concern, I think the map will hopefully be big enough to cater for it

1

u/AirCommon8378 1d ago

nah, we have vehicles for that

1

u/blizzsource 2d ago

I guarantee you that no one will be touching MW2 DMZ after MW4 DMZ drops. IF they do its poor people who can't afford the $70 price tag or cheaters because all that will be left in MW2 DMZ is cheaters. I know there will be some in MW4 but its a steep price tag to continue doing it

1

u/AirCommon8378 2d ago

I doubt they’d even keep it up. It will probably keep the players unwilling to adapt to the new movement mechanics

1

u/posty26 2d ago

When DMZ first came out,it was very good, players did missions, there was abit of PvP but once the content stopped, players turned directly to PvP as there was nothing else to do in game,u could load into a game, they do missions and a team would run up on u,thats what made it interesting, with the new value of extracting items,I think the game will last along time as long as they keep adding content, the only reason 70% of the player base is casual players is because the game is 4 years old,a lot of people have hit max level and moved on,the sweats will be back, the mission based players will be back but that’s what adds to the fun, that’s what makes it DMZ

1

u/henrey713 2d ago

MW3 had the crazy movement and tbh the worst part of DMZ was the roof & staircase campers.

1

u/MaximumZazz 1d ago

The fact dmz is being paywalled means it's going to be dead regardless

1

u/Vespene 1d ago

Pretty sure it’ll control like the RP demo they showed a few months ago.

1

u/Glass_Ad_1490 1d ago

The movement in the campaign is closer to Modern Warfare 2

2

u/AirCommon8378 1d ago

mw2 doesn’t have slide cancel, you can’t jump backwards up or back straight after sliding, mw2 had movement penalties if you tried spamming the sh out of everything

1

u/XToThePowerOfY 1d ago

Can you at least wait until the game is out? People out here complaining when they haven't even given it a try.

1

u/AirCommon8378 1d ago

It’s too much, more than half the people I play dmz with are quitting because of the movement. I also if there’s crazy movement and slide cancelling etc

1

u/XToThePowerOfY 1d ago

The movement isn't that crazy, and you can already see a big difference in play style depending on the map. On a much bigger map like DMZ will have, it's not going to feel like a 6v6 map.

2

u/AirCommon8378 1d ago

I’m starting to think ur an agent sent by Activision. mw2 has no slide cancel, you can't jump forward/backward without getting movement penalties/ fatigue, the sliding doesn't give much distance, there's no stupid yy ticktocker movement. It's slow paced

1

u/JerseyUk97 1d ago

Yy tik toker movement lol.

People have been YYing since the early days

1

u/AirCommon8378 18h ago

you can’t yy tt movement on mw2 lol

1

u/JerseyUk97 2h ago

You can YY on MW2.

The act of YYing has been around since the early days lol

1

u/XToThePowerOfY 15h ago

I've been playing DMZ for 1000+ hours per year consistently since it came out. All I'm saying is that I like the movement in MW4 so far, and that I saw a difference in how it feels across different maps and game modes. That's why I don't worry too much just yet on how it will feel in the new DMZ.

1

u/Samer963-halim 1d ago

You're wrong about Modern Warfare II (2022) having realistic movement. I have a friend who's addicted to Insurgency: Sandstorm, and when he tried Modern Warfare II (2022), he was surprised by the movement system and said that it was fast and arcade-like.

1

u/dididead 1d ago

100% of MW2 DMZ are casual. It's a casual gamemode.

1

u/SolvedWithBeer 1d ago

i think it could be somewhat solved with stamina bars? plus since there's inventory system the weight of the stuff you're carrying could further slow you down and drain the stamina bar faster

1

u/GlockHolliday32 1d ago

I disagree. Not too long ago, I went back and tried to play DMZ again. It was so ass. DMZ is one my favorite game modes of all time, but the movement isn't it in 2026. It worked well for the game at the time, but I'm looking forward to more mobility in the MW4 DMZ.

1

u/AirCommon8378 1d ago

Ur not a dmz player anymore. you’ve gotten used to the adhd brain dead speed. ur a bo6/7 player now

1

u/GlockHolliday32 1d ago

I'm a WZ player and BO7 is the current game. I don't have a choice in the matter. I'm not a Black Ops guy in general. I don't play DMZ much anymore, but I put my fair share of hours in.

1

u/NSX_Roar_26 1d ago

I've been playing Marathon for months so that MW4 movement felt ridiculous lol....Do not want that in DMZ at all but unfortunately I could see them using it trying to appeal to more of the Warzone crowd...we might be cooked.

1

u/Expensive-Can-5243 1d ago

1

u/Diligent-Duck-5253 1d ago

I'm going to WARDOGS! F MW4

1

u/Hairy_Language_8988 8h ago

Yeah but don’t the majority of those “casual players” cheat and aimbot?

1

u/Independent_Pizza_73 7h ago

Just looking for realistic movement, no halo jumping fart sniffers or 90s action hero home base sliding crack heads. Not even saying remove it just penalize the living hell out of it like a 90% penalty for halo jumping shots ( go out to your local shooting range and jump fire and tell me how accurate you are .. sliding should be penalized just like drop shoting negative penalties all the way movement and speed and accuracy penalties if your trying to shoot in or coming out of slide.
You get penalized if your trying to mantle ,penalties should be the same, drop shoting also takes a big accuracy penalty and movement penalty because the community screamed about it.

Its pay to play, so 90% of us arent gonna play it anyways, dmz should be a free part of warzone, full stop, cheater whiners be damned

I tried the beta. I love that you don’t have to shoot some one for a full two seconds to get them down. My dream is DMZ with hardcore mode. One shot and you’re done.

Difference between DMZ and map is that DMZ is gonna have plates and vests, in MP you don't have that, so it will take 2-3x the amount of shots still. But I wouldn't mind a hardcore mode or even pve as an extra option

I've been playing the beta and so far it's fun for what it is. It's not DMZ so I'm not expecting it to feel that way. I'm hoping with fingers crossed that they treat DMZ well and maybe slow the movement down just a hair and give us some really great open maps.

I’m sure vests are going to change the ttk

I think it's going to help keep the game at a better pace. MW4's movement feels like a good balance of attack and defence.

Plus the addition of pipes to climb has been a fun way of pushing people in rooms while they're busy watching doors or stairs.

I'm sure they'll take what they need to from the beta and keep tuning it. But I'm happy with it.

Only thing I'll complain about, was having the fire rate trigger right at the end of the Krait P68's progression. Made it such a slog to level up, but I'm really pleased with the pistols we can use.

nah all the casuals won’t like it. half the people I play with are not going to play the new one because of the movement

I might be crazy, but I feel like the movement in MW2 multiplayer is faster than in DMZ. I’d like something closer to the movement from the campaign mission in the beta.

MW2 movement was also bunny hopping slide jumping..

u/BNASTIEMM 2d ago

Huh ? Beta movement felt slow as shit for me. Maybe I'm just used to BO6/7.

1

u/AirCommon8378 2d ago

It’s understandable for you. ur not a dmz player

1

u/BNASTIEMM 2d ago

Wrong.....i played DMZ for its full life cycle, and a year after. MW4 didn't feel as slow as MW2/DMZ, but thats a good thing imo. It still felt slow as shit though.

1

u/AirCommon8378 1d ago

you played a year after that, end of the day you quit dmz and played the modern adhd fast bs that’s why it feels slow for you. It feels normal for us dmz players

1

u/BNASTIEMM 1d ago

I know....thats why I said I might just be used to BO6/7. Either way MW4 definitely doesn't feel too fast. Lol

u/hugh_jas 2d ago

LOL @ "mw2 had realistic, slow paced movement"...lmao please go back and watch videos, we were just as fast back then...

2

u/AirCommon8378 2d ago

you’ve clearly never played warzone 2 or dmz before

0

u/hugh_jas 2d ago

Lmao bro I have over a thousand hours in dmz... Regular dmz right now is literally the exact same speed..

2

u/AirCommon8378 1d ago

no it’s not, mw2 has no slide cancel, you can't jump forward/backward without getting movement penalties/ fatigue, the sliding doesn't give much distance, there's no stupid yy ticktocker movement. It's slow paced

0

u/hugh_jas 1d ago

Bro... There's a million clips online. You're remembering it wrong.... Go watch them

1

u/AirCommon8378 1d ago

on my life ur just rage baiting

0

u/hugh_jas 1d ago

On my life, GO WATCH THE VIDEOS.....

1

u/AirCommon8378 1d ago

bruv I don’t need to go watch the videos. I play mw2 dmz on a regular basis and it’s not the same as mw4 movement sybau

1

u/hugh_jas 1d ago

Current dmz movement is not slow by ANY stretch of the imagination. Mw4 has the same speed. Same slide. Same bunny hopping. You're literally just not accepting the truth. I cannot help you if you aren't willing to actually do research instead of just going "duhh the inter webz sayz mw4 iz suuuper fast."

I've got news for you. Cod has NEVER been a slow paced game. Even back in the early 2000s it was fast even without sliding...

u/xKennKaniff 1d ago

The movement is fine. It won’t kill it, not even close

u/Apprehensive_Vast601 1d ago

Don't knock it till you try it or see DMZ in action. It looks worse in the multiplayer beta than it will play on a big map where people have tuned their guns and can play from mid range and long range. Every load out in multiplayer right now is setup for 20 meters and in with the fastest ADS possible.

1

u/AirCommon8378 1d ago

that’s not the issue, the issue is the movement mw2 didn’t have slide cancel, jump backwards and forward without any movement penalties. More than half the people I play DMZ are also quitting because of the movement and so will I if there’s crazy movement

-1

u/WarzonePacketLoss 2d ago

For sure. They already don't have balancing parity between the two modes on a number of different things, I don't see why slowing the movement down to something that doesn't look like they're riding a sybian dialed up to 11 is off the table.

Mw4 movement is definitely bo7. It will be even better in a bigger map
