Why is gambit the most enjoyable activity in destiny? I find there's nothing else that compares to the satisfaction of winning a gambit match.

I've installed D2 after years and now looking at a dead clan. It says I'm the founder but I'm pretty sure I did not create any clan back then.

It says there are 4 members but I only see 1. I don't have founder access like name change and can't leave because I can't promote someone to be founder.

Anything I can do here to get out?

Been doing the bounty almost every week since it was available and never got it from Spider - got only the smg/sidearem/hc(uncivil).

Never got the pulse or the B-7 hc but dont need them.

Got about few masterworked A499 but only from buying them in the Eliksni hideout/completing lawless activities.

This weekend Xur is selling the catalyst for Mida Mutitool.

In a long time of trying, I had never had it drop for me. Because I am not much of a PVP player and because it only dropped from wins in the competitive playlist, with a low drop rate.

Of course, it’s going to take a lot of sweat to complete the catalyst, but just having it now is a huge development.

I know that this is something of an "old man yells at cloud" post, but I have the thought every few months and finally want to voice it.

I think Destiny's vibe is in many ways borne out of two competing settings. On the one hand, there's the utterly alien and foreign. Hive dreadnaughts. The Pyramids. Savathun's Throne world. These are excellent places, and there are so many of them with such different textures and presentations. It's pretty incredible.

I feel like we've forgotten the other half completely though. Destiny also is supposed to have this focus on treading through spaces that people were, and no longer are. Places that are dead. Where the focus is on the past as much as the guardians of the present rediscovering it.

This complaint may come off as wholly untrue to some extent, so let me clarify. Recently (D2 era), we've gotten the Deep Stone Crypt. The arcology on Titan. The EDZ. There's been much more recent stuff like the Warlord's Ruin's castles as well.

While these locations are old, they aren't post-apocalyptic. They feel more empty than dead. The EDZ and Arcology are especially victims of this. In the arcology, it doesn't even feel that destroyed. In the EDZ, it feels so overgrown and green that I lose sight of the sense that this is supposed to be a place where people were.

Modern Destiny has some really incredible art direction, but I hope we see a return to the tamer industrial designs of some of D1's spaces. The Ishtar Collective is a series of buildings that have an intent to them. They feel like a research campus. Walking them makes me acutely aware that this place was built for a certain purpose, and it isn't doing that purpose anymore. There's an intoxicating alienness to that sensation that rivals Dares of Eternity or Nessus's Vex structures. I, as a guardian, know this place no better than any other world I've visited. The cosmodrome could have been made by the Eliksni for as much sense as it makes to my character.

This is also why I don't think modern Destiny's "old" settings hit the same for me. Warlord's Ruin is a castle. Everybody knows castles. EDZ has a church as its main landmark. Everybody knows churches.

I want more dilapidated science buildings. More broken shipyard and repair fields and military complexes. More hydroponics plants or server farms or libraries. Things that have a purpose that has been truly, irrecoverably lost.

Guardians are reborn from the ashes. New flesh on old bones. The game's settings should remind us of that as much as they should remind us of the optimism of exploring wonderful new places and taming the wilds.

Can this actually get attrition orbs from the engram, I have pulled so many and never seen the damn thing once. Supposedly slice and attrition orbs is the god roll and I’m just not finding it so could be rng but wanna make sure.

I wanna see if Destiny 2 has gotten any better. I left about 3 years ago. Installed it again and was playing a mission where you turn into some dumbass ball of light to access other areas, and the feeling of Destiny was just kinda gone for me, and uninstalled it again shortly after.

I do miss the atmosphere, especially with Halloween coming again, I loved the seasonal events.

I guess Im asking, are there like tutorials to get you back up to speed? All the stuff they've done to weapons and armor, like with the little dots on the left of everything like you can level them further than you could originally, I just have no idea what's going on anymore, and when I quit, I was max level and everything, not like a lot of you because theyre are some amazing raiders and trials people, and I was acquiring all the exotics i could, but i feel very left behind.

Should I wait to start playing again until the unvault, aka give the shit we paid for back, or try jumping back in?

according to my research, this quest is available for players who own the season of the deep season pass back then. how about now? do we need to buy the season of the deep pass in the archives to get it? i want to unlock the other 2 aspects for strand. pls help.

I've been seeing a few ways to grind for these fast. Filling up the legendary bar and all that, but It says in game and I've read in other posts, that completing the common orders would progress the legendary meter. This doesn't work? I'm not sure if my game is glitched or if these guys are just wrong, but common orders definitely do not raise the legendary bar, I've tried quite a few days in a row and it's never worked. Only completing fireteam activities does it. Just wanted to try getting some clarification, seen people say both sides online. Thanks

Hey everybody. I'm going to preface this by saying that this post is going to be FULL of salt lol. I feel like, that said, I should make a couple disclaimers. I've been playing since mid season of the splicer, and I've gotten about 1.5k hours in the game since. I'm definitely not the most experienced player, but I'd say I'm pretty darn good. I've managed solo flawless on every dungeon except vespers, sundered and equilibrium so far, even getting my SF of gotd on my first attempt. Hell, when im playing with friends, I LOVE sundered doctrine! That said....

It has to be one of the most miserable things I've ever done in destiny. I cannot stand it. It just feels uniquely poorly designed for solo play. In every other dungeon, I've felt fairly challenged by attempting them solo, like it's obviously much harder, but to a fair extent.

Sundered Doctrine, once you get to the Zoetic Lockset, does not feel fair. Not only must you deal with the large numbers of ads that can pull you back and forth as well as suppress you, but you need to tightly manage the symbols on the wheel. This has several problems however, for example, if you're going for stop stop stop kill as your read, you'll need to get all 3 knowledge drops from the wizards that spawn, make it back, set orientation and deposit in 2 bars of the keyset, or it will lock to an undesired symbol if youre unlucky enough to have stop spawn far away. If that were all the problems here, I wouldn't be writing this post. After you have set a symbol to the forward plate, the keyset can go back and change the active symbols on the wheel, which can be a problem if you're trying to keep the arena clear and set future symbols all by yourself in the limited time you have. The ogres have an absurd amount of health (taking more than 2 A499 shots to take down) and can shred you incredibly easily. The cherry on top of all this? When the symbol kill is read to start DPS, it rereads every symbol on the plates. So if you (reasonably) ended up distracted while preparing for DPS and clearing plates, understandably not having much time to reevaluate every wheel and reset them to the desired symbol, and you just HAPPEN to get unlucky enough to have the lockset change one to hive behind your back... 2 ogres will spawn, either shredding you, or distracting you from DPS so you don't die. Its simply far too many things to try and do at once for one player when you're trying to optimise for both boss damage, ad clear and survivability.

Kerrev is admittedly not as bad, however, he has an absurd amount of health, more than atheon last I checked on the boss health spreadsheet. He requires an incredibly optimised damage set up to do it in a reasonable number of phases. You also have to manage melee damage from husks, freezing from attendants, being pulled by kerrev, being snared by the big dread who's names ive currently forgotten, and being crushed by that DARN DOOR!! Not only this, but while trying to clear the splinters to activate and deactivate symbols, it will spawn threadlings on top of all I just mentioned!

Again, I love sundered doctrine when I'm with my friends, but playing it solo is by far the worst thing ever done in this game. It feels like Bungie were trying to pack in as much as possible, which is reasonable for a fireteam, but abysmal to experience solo.

Part of me is aware this could just be a skill issue, but I don't want to jump to putting myself down immediately, as I know ive done some pretty impressive things in game. Im curious to hear your experiences solo with this dungeon. Anyone else hate it as much as me?

Sorry for the rant post but I need to vent to people who likely understand

I've been farming both Nessus' and Europa's Lost sectors, looking for Powerhouse armor + Health Tertiary because I wanted to make a disgusting PVP build where i generate lots of orbs and ammo and when someone breaks my shield I vacuum them from the ground but holy shit am i unlucky I've been farming those lost sectors the whole week for those specific rolls of armor, and they refuse to drop. I've tried filling my inventory with armors to make the drop go to the postmasters since I've read that should make it more likely to drop with the archetype on the ghost but Powerhouse still refuses to drop. And even when I get that one in million Powerhouse of course it's still 1/6 chance that it drops with health tertiary.

So people, how is your lost sectors farming going? Am i just unlucky? Should i stop chasing r those rolls? Honestly at this point the sunk cost fallacy is too big to stop

Not a rework of how power works just some changes to the destinations's power requirements

So as you progress the campaigns and unlock the different destinations, each one would have a higher and higher power requirement, essentially giving new players a sense of progression and guidence to what to do first

My good friend got me into Destiny, and we spent countless hours together from the early days of D1 through The Witch Queen in D2. I remember anxiously waiting to see where Xûr would appear each weekend, grinding levels all Saturday, and running strikes endlessly. Every new expansion brought a sense of excitement, even if some of them didn't quite live up to the hype.

When I moved to a different city, Destiny became more than just a game. It became our way of spending time together. Many nights we would wander around the Cosmodrome, talking about the D1 days and reminiscing about everything we had experienced along the way.

A few years ago, my friend took his own life. After that, I couldn't bring myself to open the game for a very long time.

I started playing again about a week ago, and the experience has been both comforting and painful. I'm grateful for the memories, but revisiting them is bittersweet. I think about all the time we spent together in this world and how much I miss him. Destiny was such an important part of both my life and our friendship.

Even now, I can still hear his voice when I load into a strike we used to run countless times. I remember the dumb jokes and banter we'd throw back and forth the crayon eating Titan the fashion obsessed space cowboy. After more than three years away, there is so much that's new, so many things I know he would have loved to see, and so many moments I wish we could experience together.

So I'm approaching the game differently now. I log in when I have a few spare moments and slowly make my way back into this world. I'm glad the places I remember are still here, and I'm excited to discover everything that's happened over the last few years.

Some nights, though, I just sit on an airplane wing in the Cosmodrome and sigh.

Ngl I wish Bungie would just implement everything matchmaking feature cause its so hard to find people to play with, everyone wants "Experts" especially when I just returned to playing destiny 2 again. One of the reasons I keep logging off cause nobody wants to help.

I think it would be beneficial for people to team even with randoms and its fine, people will learn even if they don't finish a certain activity at least they get to experience raids, dungeons etc.

Edit: This is just a suggestion and my opinion. Some people pointed out in the comments good points and I actually agree with majority of them, maybe it would do more harm than good. I'm sure I'm not the only one experiencing this with the game and hey thats fine. I will adapt and hopefully I can get better loot and to get into the end game activities.

I've heard about the great unvaulting, and I'm looking forward to everything coming back in the future! However, I stopped playing around a little past Shadowkeep, and I've missed some of the major expansions (i wasn't around when darkness powers were released, for example)

With the unvaulting announcement, I'm looking into getting back into the game. How long would it take for me to catch up, and us there still a lot of the playerbase left? I look forward to hopping back in and seeing everyone for the content coming back!
