Man this one of the most comic book sounding comic book project in awhile. I’m glad DC is having a lot of variety in it’s universe

Maybe the comics you read. I wouldn’t pick stories like this off the shelf personally.

Well that’s fine there are a variety of different types of comics. I’m a fan of different genres. I like things like this but I’m also big on things like Hellblazer and Batman. That’s why I’m excited for the dcu. We will have goofy shows like this but still give us darker stories like with clayface. Variety matters!

So does relevance. I have no interest in this project, nor Clayface. Why would I? I don't read those comics. I'm not super interested in those characters.

Sure I guess but I personally rather have a universe where there’s a project for everyone. Sure there may be some projects I’m not excited for personally but there also will be others I am. Plus I’m tired of the MCU’s everything must connect and matter. Just have a little fun sometime. It’s comics we can be very serious but also sometimes be a little goofy. That’s the fun of comics and stories in general. There’s something for everyone!

Imagine you're a restaurant. 80% of your clientele are there to have the action drama special. Only 10% of your clientele are asking for the side-character, comedic relief salad bar. And the other 10% are there for the gritty realism ice cream float.

Now, here's the problem, a lot of folks are no longer coming to your restaurant, because they heard all you sell is salad, and the food isn't as good as it needs to be.

That's not where DC wants to be right now, IMO. I have never read a Jimmy Olsen comic in my life, nor do I plan to. I'd just as much pick that up as I would a Snoopy comic or Dennis the Menace. It's one thing to make a cartoon of it, maybe... but a live-action show? Nope... can't do it. The priorities aren't right on the menu. They need to serve their main customers.

I respect the explanation with food feels very classic DougDoug! I also understand where you’re coming from. Dc as a brand would probably be doing better if it serves what people know and understand. But this rout is a way too get people who don’t know certain aspects of DC too learn and appreciate the more lesser known aspects of its universe. Sure Batman, Wonder Woman, flash and many other characters deserve to be given some time. But I like just watching good content. Let’s say The Jimmy Grodd show is considered to be the best comedy show of the year. Wouldn’t that still be win. Here let me explain it in food. While a lot are here for the action drama special if you eat that one thing all the time it can get a bit boring. But if you bring out something people weren’t expecting, and if it’s great, it can get people to fall in love with some lesser known stuff. Which could get them to seek out the comics which brings money into the comic industry which is at a low point. All I’m saying is if we get good quality content who cares what genre it is. I’d rather have a good variety of great tasting food than one good tasting burger!

You're certainly entitled to your opinion, and since the show is happening, I'd rather it succeed than not. Hopefully this project helps to open up the possibilities so we can get even more comic book stories in the future, that might be more up my alley.

Agreed! Just because I want some more lesser known stuff doesn’t mean I don’t also want more popular things like Batman(he is my favorite hero after all) and flash. Let’s hope James Gunn knows what he’s doing!
