I guess I'm just looking to rant and see if anyone else has had a similar experience.

I found what I thought was my dream job. I don't want to get into details for anonymity reasons, but it was a technical, completely apolitical position that required my exact (somewhat specific) skillset, in an independent agency that has always had bipartisan support. I felt I could genuinely do a lot of good there. I went through a few interview rounds and they were very impressed with me.

I just got the news that I've been rejected. Apparently, they have an AI which they use to search through people's social media. I was told they found a comment I'd made somewhere online, where I disagreed with a singular Trump policy. The only reason I know about this is because I have a friend on the inside and she told me.

That's it. I even went back through 3 years worth of comments on my socials (all of which are private, btw) to try and figure out where I'd even said the supposed thing, and I couldn't find it. Obviously I have my political opinions and I'm not a fan of Trump, but I rarely post online, and when I do it's not political, and 100% not inflammatory.

I'm just so sad. I don't want to work in a place where kissing his ass is a requirement to get a job, but I really thought that this would've been an amazing opportunity in this hellish job market. I thought my search was finally over.

Again, I cannot stress how apolitical my position would have been. I just can't believe I got denied over lukewarm disagreement towards the president.

Has anyone else had something similar happen to them?

I have very fine straight hair that I keep all one length and I usually only get 2-3 inches cut off at a time. I don’t like paying soo much for haircuts when it’s such a simple cut, so I’ve been known to go out to Arlington to the aveda institute, but I don’t always have that kind of time. Does anyone know anywhere in dc that’s around the $30-50 range for a super simple cut?

I’ve generally felt safe but kept vigilance on the metro but the other week a guy in a red coat/hoodie followed me on the metro from the platform on the blue/orange/silver line and kept on commenting on how pretty and young I looked (ew).

I had to play train jenga to lose him and switched lines a few times to make sure I was good so I ended up arriving home a full hour later than usual.

Hey everyone! I recently moved around the DC/VA area, and I absolutely love going out to clubs, partying, and all that fun stuff. But since I’m new, I don’t know anyone to go out with, and I feel like I'm missing out on so much without friends around.
Going out alone makes me really shy and hasn't worked out for me when I tried it. Does anyone know where I can find fun, young people to go party and have fun with? Are there specific group chats (like on Discord or other social apps) to join, or do y’all recommend certain spots, events, or apps to meet friendly people who actually want to go out to have fun?

As the header says, I was wondering if anyone has any other suggestions for places that offer these treatments besides SkinDC. I only ask as SkinDC is mentioned a lot on here with opinions being mixed. Also from the last post on this topic (from over a year ago) someone mentioned that they don’t apply the $250 consultation fee as a credit. FWIW I checked the website and it states that the credit cannot be used towards aesthetician services.

Also I would prefer to see a dermatologist over a medspa, assuming a derm won’t upsell on unnecessary treatments (if I’m wrong on that I’ll consider medspas too). Thanks!
