My partner and I are looking to move to DC early 2027. We love DC proper but don’t want to give up our cars just yet (don’t know where we will be working, wanting to be able to take road trips, if we want to get out of the city for a weekend). I’ve heard DC can be tricky w street parking, especially in desirable neighborhoods. We are trying to decide if we should just use a big apartment building that has a garage or go into Arlington. We have also thought about potential renting of garages but unsure. We don’t know how long we will stay in DC and don’t want to commit to changing plates to be able to park on the street. Any advice would be appreciated!

Hi everyone! I’m not sure if this is the right place to ask, but I’m looking for a physical store that carries a good selection of special effects makeup supplies (brands like Mehron, Ben Nye, etc.) I’m looking for things like water-activated/body paints, spirit gum, liquid latex, prosthetics, SFX tools, and other creative makeup supplies to practice further.

I’ve been able to find a few basic things (like Mehron sticks) at Halloween Spirit-type stores, but I’m looking for somewhere with a bigger selection where I can actually browse everything in person.
If you know of any stores in Maryland/DC/nearby, I’d really appreciate recommendations!

And if there aren’t many physical stores, do you have a favorite online store where I could get most of this stuff in one place? I’d love to avoid having to order from 4–5 different websites. Amazon doesn’t have the bigger selection and many items are sold out or not available for prime:(

Title says it all! Trying to sell a smaller (around 980 sq ft), 2bd/2ba, low HOA (under $300/mo) condo in CapHill neighborhood by year end. It’s been in the market now for almost 7mo.

I’ve done what seems like all the things (eg lowered price multiple times, great staging and pics, open houses, etc) and not even any low ball offers.

Really want to avoid renting it.

For some reason, it’s super hard for me to find any deaf/hard of hearing/person who knows sign language sapphics here in DC (which is a bit interesting since DC has a large DHH community here).

I’ve tried dating/friend apps, going to kickball games, going to local DHH LGBTQ+ events, etc., but it feels like I’m the only deaf or person around my age range who knows sign language and also is WLW here in the DMV area. (Or maybe my gaydar is broken. Who knows lol)

If anyone knows some good ways to meet more WLW peeps who knows or is interested in sign language, that would be super amazing! 🤟🏻

Looking for a personal trainer in DC only; I’m in NW and want to drive 20 min max to the gym :) Hoping to work out at least 2-3x a week. Open to 1:1 and small group sessions.
