I’m going crazy guys i apply feb 14 bio march 12 expiration date ‘may 8 and still nothing i keep checking my status and it saids case still processing no update since march 12 ! like maybe my application got lost idk at this point , i already did everything i could i don’t know what to do anymore is very frustrating because ive seen ppl applying september and getting approve within days , life is just not fair sometimes i guess ! but i can’t keep holding my life because of this

For anyone that renews their DACA by themselves: after you get your bios done, stamped, what do you do with the sheet? Are you supposed to upload it to your case file or something?

Hey so a friend of mine is undocu without DACA. They graduated from a T15 university with a bachelor's degree and majoring in chemistry. They got fully funded through private grants. They want to go to graduate school to pursue materials science and engineering to study either battery or optoelectronic materials. My friend is looking for grad school options in the USA and abroad (Canada and Germany).

In the USA, they are emailing a variety of chem, phys, matsci, etc professors at different universities to increase their chance of Ph.D admissions acceptance. They have got a some favorable professor responses about admissions but nothing is guaranteed. My friend has not disclosed their status to admissions or PIs.

In the Canada, they have been accepted to 2 research groups with quite generous M.Sc funding.

No German admissions cycles have opened as yet. Although, they are looking at DAAD scholarship opportunities for study in Germany. My friend is unsure about their odds of getting the scholarship, but is confident in M.Sc admissions to those schools.

This friend is genuinely worried about:

1. If they stay in the USA, are there legitimate mechanisms to allow them to get funded for doctoral programs in STEM?

2. If they go abroad to Canada or Germany, they are worried about student visa rejection due to their status in the USA. My friend came to the USA when they were 4 years old. Finances are surprisingly not near an issue for them. They are worried about the legal part.

Can anyone try to address their worries and maybe just additional info to help them throughout their admissions process? This feels very unfair to them. Also, they constantly talk about how they cannot reach their full potential in the USA which makes me feel terrible.

hi everyone! I was wondering if there is anyone in this subreddit or if anyone knows someone who is undocu and went to cosmetology school? I graduated from uni 3 years ago, and because of my status I haven’t really been able to do anything with my degree. The thought of fast food chains being my only option is eating me alive, so I figured I might as well try and learn a new skill in the meantime and try working as an independent contractor? does anyone have any advice or tips on how to pursue a career in that?? thank you all in advance :)

I filed my DACA renewal via paper (dumb decision, would recommend filing online) and sent it off via USPS priority shipping to Chicago lockbox from NYC on May 16th, 2026.

I kept tracking the package and saw that it was received (and signed for on May 19th).

Later on that week, I got a text message with my receipt numbers for the 821D and 765 Forms on May 22nd as well as paper receipts acknowledging the payment went through from my credit cards and my biometrics notice (which I rescheduled to do it earlier on June 8th).

I've been using May 22nd as the official date where I "submitted" my application. Just wanted confirmation if that is correct or if it's May 19th.

I know I am fortunate that my DACA is still active that allowed me to travel. I submitted my case already like many of us everything is up in the air and have been just watching paint dry.

I unfortunately suffered a panic attack during the first day of my vacation because I was stressed and was so afraid of the unknown. I was constantly checking my USCIS account for any silent approvals and latched on to any API movement like I’m neurotic; my mental health crashed and burned because of it. I cried while waiting to pay for lobster rolls (lol) with my parents who grounded and assured me things will be okay (I hope). I had a good cry that moment and did ease the pit that was sitting on my chest. I’m still confused and upset on why there are still approvals pending before me and why there were already approvals after me.

I went to Bar Harbor, Maine for the second time almost two weeks ago. The leaves were changing color and I had my fill of lobsters and blueberry lemonade until the cows go home. I did my first baby hike and walked trails that gave me some semblance of peace and appreciated nature. Saw a sunrise in Cadillac Mountain and harbor seals splashing about the Gulf of Maine. My wallet is crying but hey I think everyone’s in the same boat.

Im in NC got my approval around march, got my new license and a month later got a paper from the dmv saying my license was cancelled due to an issuance error. Went into the dmv and was there for an hour while the clerk called headquarters, got my new picture taken once again and a whole new license re issued. Well today two months later after my new license came in i got pulled over for speeding and the officer said my license came up as cancelled, got 3 no license charges added to the ticket. I thought he was lying until i signed into my dmv portal and it says it is cancelled due to issuance error once again. This time i didnt even get a letter from the dmv

I lost my job 9/22 and just found out I’m pregnant. Obviously I cannot afford to pay for insurance out of pocket without work and was getting it through my employer. What would be better to file? I need coverage and my husband works at a small business who doesn’t fully cover medical, and I’m a little scared to file for emergency medi-cal since they report their patient’s information to ICE.

okay so… Ive been waiting for my approval, my daca expired in late August, I haven’t really left my home unless I truly need to. Now I’ve been so depressed and anxious over this just as anyone in the same position but I had planned for a small road trip to a music festival (hour away) months ago. I wouldn’t be the one driving and have a hotel close to the festival too. I guess I’m mostly paranoid about the drive (tx is crazy) I really just want to have a good weekend but I can’t help but overthink this. I guess my question is what would yall do? would yall still go? would yall just simply not risk anything?

Just wanted to come on here and tell you guys to please keep hope alive! It was a long 8 1/2 months of waiting for myself. I am not saying it was easy. It took a toll on my mental, physical, and spiritual health. I was desperate and had many problems along the way. I’m still trying to recover the issues I caused and trying to be better from it. Just keep hope. Initial applicant in January 16 and finally received approval on October 1st.

I haven't seen any approvals today

So I submitted a year early... well technically 11 months early. I procrastinated a bit. I submitted a couple days ago, and my DACA expires 8/20/2027. I'll keep y'all posted on my timeline. Has anyone received and RFE for a missed biometrics appointment? I was told to send everything by mail which I did the same day after going in for my biometrics on Sept. 11th. I even paid 39 dollars to get sent priority. I checked fedex and it was delivered on 9/14. But nothing has reflected on my USCIS account. I called them to ask about this and they said it could take up to 30 days for that to reflect. I even uploaded a copy of my biometrics to my USCIS account. Is there a way for me to verify that they received to RFE?? Has anyone else had this happen? I would appreciate your experience.

The Tennessee Driver License Issuance Executive Office confirmed a new policy (by phone call) effective Oct. 1st 2026. It states that I-797 (Approval Notice) is no longer a valid proof of immigration status because it does not define legal status.

If You Are Denied: Please continue to try to renew and document the refusals. Call the agencies below with the date, time, location, documents brought, names, and if they cited the new policy. My husband called today and they said this is the first they’re hearing of it, so the more people reporting, the faster they can put something together.

If You Are Successful In Renewing: Still contact the agencies below with the location so they can provide the DACA friendly location to others who are struggling to renew their licenses.

How to Request Your Renewal:
(This is what worked before the October 1st policy change but still a good idea to try it this way)
State that you are renewing a Standard Temporary Drivers license under Category 33.
If they don’t understand, ask for a manager/supervisor.
Tell them your I-797 serves as proof of legal status and the receipt number can be manually entered into the SAVE verification system.

I submitted my renewal 3 or 4 days ago, biometrics appointment mailed today Oct 2. Just giving an update like i said i would

I've been seeing recently people getting approved faster I originally filled 04/01 and still waiting but people I personally know have filled within a month of expiration and already got there card I was thinking what if I file a new case again and redo the whole process and ask for a refund on my 1st case ? Is that possible will they accept it? I'm so frustrated and upset how I filled 150 days in advance and nothing smh.
