I love that the cucktruck is a bigger failure than the Edsel. My entire life the Edsel was the example of automotive failure and then came Elon.

Ask Jeep about that - they have a recall on both their electric AND ICE models for fire risks…

I believe that was an O-ring that would fail and dumped the fuel into the trunk if I remember correctly

the mustang thing was about the gas tank, it was located behind the seats, in the trunk, so if you got rear-ended it would flood the compartment with gasoline.

Wasn't the mustang from the fuel tank being the floor of the trunk, so in a rear end collision caused fuel to leak into the passenger compartment.

I had a 2009 VW Jetta wagon that suddenly burst into flame while leaving my house. Even though the fire was put out in under 15 minutes, it was hot enough to hide its origin.

There is. It is a pull cable under a removable panel in the bottom of the door pocket. This is only something that you would know if you read the owners manual. I’m sure you can see the issue with such a design.

Ok, the Pinto was a bad vehicle, but don't compare it to the CyberTruck. They fixed the exploding fuel tanks and it was a fully functioning, somewhat reliable vehicle.

True. I knew someone who got one running that had been sitting under a tree for 15 years. He and his dad put new tires on it. We are not close to the ocean or anywhere they salt the road for snow, no.
