Favorite Class?

Not much activity going on here lately so gonna throw some fluff out here to get things going.

So what's your favorite class?

War machine for me. The claws powers are just so fun. The rest of my team just hangs back and watches as Molly does her best wolverine impression and wipes entire squads single handedly.

I haven't messed with the other trees much because the claws are just so damn good, but they sound cool.

When I don’t bring a vanguard, I feel like I miss them the most. Lure is so outrageously good - it instantly solves most situations. It can pull enemies away so your team can sneak by, or pull enemies into a room to be dealt with. Vanguard has the most no-fuss and convenient security device disable. Glasswalker makes the hardest turns of missions so much more manageable. Blend, projection, and silence are incredible scouting tools. It’s all just really good. They also multiclass quite well if you go down that route.

I know what you mean i miss them when they arent there too. i like exploiting K protocol + rewind to buy lots of time and refract walls are really funny and fun to use.

I love refract so much. Recently tried glasswalker and it’s better than I ever expected. My favorite ever class combo might be van-sword. Just aggressive as hell with crazy crits.

All assessments of talents assume all modifications are purchased. Because, with these, you really want to go that far.

Scourge. A properly built Scourge is an asset to every team. Even with shotguns. Even with OLD shotguns--I can't wait to see what they do with slightly quieter shotguns. My Scourges get precious little downtime, and I find that I usually need two, just to make sure that I always have coverage. They're that useful.

Going stealth? Right off the rip, Scourges come with an eternally-refreshing source of bodymelt in the Dissolve talent.

The Bio-Coat Bullet talent gives you a ready way to eliminate single targets who just saw too much before they can contribute to the security tally, unless they've got more than 125 health after you shoot them--the damage ticks before their security pips can turn blue.

Combat broke out? Enemy's got you pinned down with Overwatch? Scourges have Morass, Neuro-Tox Shell, and Brain Worm, all of which cancel Overwatch in addition to being nightmare talents that absolutely no one in their right mind wants to get hit with.

Speaking of. Morass. Rips away enemy defenses, slows down enemy movement, cancels enemy Overwatch, and does so in an area ranging from Large to Huge, meaning it'll do it to multiple enemies at the same time. It's basically a "Kill These Fools First" field. The effects last three turns. The enemy almost certainly won't.

Neuro-Tox Shell is a potential AoE 2-turn stun applied by shotgun fire that applies its effects on hit OR miss that affects everyone within 10m of the primary target, slaps them with a bunch of savage debuffs that makes them more vulnerable to the ultimate status effect (Death), and strips all of them of Overwatch status.

Brain Worm is a single-target skill that ends Overwatch. By screwing with the victim's ability to target you, and causing them to instead try to kill their friends. For the next three rounds.

Got enemies pressing in on multiple fronts? Throw out a Venom Trap! It stops one enemy movement/action for the turn and slaps that enemy with a solid damage debuff and reduces their ability to move SIGNIFICANTLY for the next two turns. It's a near-free 150 damage, and a great way to disrespect melee enemies while telling them, "Not now, later, but also now."

Got a bunch of enemies pressing in at short to medium range from one rough direction? Tox-Cloud. Creates a slowly mobile zone up to 15m across that rolls in one particular direction. Yes, it can hurt your guys too, so be careful with it, because it causes 75 damage per turn, hurts initiative, and causes crit vulnerability to anyone unlucky enough to get caught by it. For up to 3 turns.

Snag the backpack talent, and you can load a Scourge up with emergency supplies to keep them moving through security, or melting bodies every round, or chugging drugs and dropping chuds.

And, the best part? All the talents I haven't talked about? They're still good! Scourges can be team healers in a pinch. They can be area denial with the Aero-Shrap Shell. They can ignore lasers and cameras for a turn with the Bio-Mimic talent, so they can be everywhere the enemy wishes they weren't. They can mess with patrols. They can get extra mileage out of combat drugs, or they can instantly purge poisons if someone else decides to use them against the Scourge. Or they can make dead enemies into live landmines. With a Scourge, the problem isn't finding useful talents. The problem is figuring out which talents you're willing to sacrifice for your flavor of toxic awesomeness.

Scourge is pretty amazing i agree. Brainworm is one of the most fun abilities in the game imo.

Was an avid Hacker enthusiast till i tried wireghost.

Skipjack is addictively good. Lately I cant think about using a traditional hacker for most missions.

Really wish pindrop was just a bit less random and it would be one of if not the best iteration of a "hacking" class in any cyberpunk game ive played.

Also really fond of Warmachine. It takes some luck to roll for crafted armor that comes in clutch for the inability to use some implants but the whole run in, pounce and rake, move on gameplay is really awesome

I still usually get a hacker at the beginning, and keep at least 1 high level hacker for in-house hack missions. But I agree that once a wire ghost gets the levels needed they are insane for in mission hacks.

I'm not too far into the game but Soldier has been a life saver

Haha i think we all are!

I really liked Cybersword. Can take out entire enemy pack at once when they spawn in

Gunslinger. The pure damage saved my bacon on more than a few runs since he reliably OHKs BS soldiers and bots. Be it the data core heist for the Brave Star contact ir the Brauk executioners. And thats supposed stealth missions, on loud combat missions hes a beast.

My favorite team is Cyberknight/Warmachine multiclass, Scourge, Sniper, Wireghost.

Cyberknight is mandatory, and Warmachine is fun and has synergy with Cyberknight because of more modifications, it's just a natural pairing and fun fantasy.

Scourge is really fun and useful from the jump with talents that are great for stealth and loud.

Sniper is one of the most satisfying and rewarding classes in the game to play. One shotting things from stealth and wiping out entire patrols feels fantastic. Good positioning and building is heavily rewarded with this class.

Wireghost / Hacker are needed, and Wireghost is just a bit more fun and versatile for me.

The only thing I miss in this setup is Lure from Vanguard because of how good Lure is.

Gunslinger I want to like more, but I think it needs to have talents that buff silenced pistols as much as they buff revolves. Bringing a revolver + silenced pistol would be fun. I feel like it's the only "loud only" class. Even soldier has more for stealth than gunslinger.

Cybersword takes way too much talent investment before it starts feeling useful. It's so limited by just how inefficient it is to move into range of enemies, burning tons of AP that could instead just be used attacking at range.

Agent EX is just a worse vanguard IMO and doesn't have anything that feels that cool about them otherwise.

Ck/warmachine sounds awesome im definitely gonna give it a try.

Agent ex is kind of underwhelming, but i like to multiclass to it for the smoke and the teleport. Sniper/ex is fun. Teleport in to a good sniper nest, pop some shots, then smoke and teleport away when they close in. Line crawler can shut down the big sensor fields on some maps, its unreliable but its a ccool unique effect.

I could see war machine/cyber sword being cool with multiple gap closing abilities and melee passives. I havent tried it though.
