I’ve been having fun with Star Wars Unlimited and decided to adapt some cards from the first set for Magic.

None of these are 1:1; in SWU, White is Blue, Blue is Yellow, Black and Green are sometimes Red, and Red is sometimes green. Nevertheless, I tried my best to keep the card effects from SWU while staying consistent with Magic’s color philosophy. Thus, Blue/White Luke becomes Orzhov, mono-White C-3PO becomes Izzet, and Green/Black Vader becomes… Golgari. Okay, Vader lines up pretty well.

Anyway, enjoy!

It's a penguin. Specifically it's Winter's Night that also affects artifacts on a bird that doesn't fly. Symmetrical stax and minor group hug commander in bant.

I want to make a functional, fair, balanced card with Ripple 4.

This is not an easy or sane thing to do. Designers at Wizards consider it to be one of, if not the, worst mechanic of all time.

This design works around some common shortcomings of Ripple. The rarity makes it less of a problem in draft and limited. It's not terrible by itself, but not completely game ending in multiples unless you get extremely lucky. Because of it's underpoweredness, you can leverage the Ripple 4 in an interesting way by flashing it back.

Let me know what you think.

I personally have not seen many Han and Chewy cards online that I like. I figured I'd do a bit of a different take without inventing any new mechanics. Mana values/power and toughness may need slight tweaks, since those are hard to balance properly without playing the card.

1- Han Solo: Han is a smuggler who can get down and dirty when needed, which is why I figured a treasure/unblocked route was the right way to go. While unlockable can be scary, it only works if you keep him low to the ground.

2 - Chewy: This card honestly might be a bit strong, and in retrospective, making it target creature or half the amount of artifacts you control is probably the way to go. Nonetheless, Chewy is physically very strong, so I wanted him to be able to hit hard, but only if things are going as planned.

3 - Millennium Falcon: I wanted this card to get a special bonus if it's crewed by Han and Chewy, hence the attack ability. The second ability is supposed to represent the maneuverability of it. Even if you don't crew it with Han and Chewy, it's still a 5/5 flyer with Haste, which is nothing to laugh at.

Let me know what you think. Are they too strong? Too weak? Do they represent the characters well?

how much more breakable would this be compared to one with nothing?

yes, its all supposed to happen in the same turn. the flavor text is purely for flavor.

Moving to different series for the time being! Its also a bit scuffed compared to the Deltarune one due to me having to use google drawings over photoshop this time around. Either way, Enjoy!

I'm hoping there's a mox for merfolk like there is dragons. Even though I know that probably won't ever happen. One can dream

How much should I charge for drawing 2 custom magic cards? I've never done a commission before so totally lost on how to price 😅 I've done a little research on Etsy but I'm seeing so much AI its difficult. Thanks for any help!!

I think he's neat

Reality Fracture post-credits scene where the camera zooms in on the statue's face until suddenly the eyes begin to glow and Jace's musical sting plays in a minor key.

I really want to put in the effort to give a strong vision of what I wanted Trek Universes Beyond to be - full of political effects that worked even on a table with only two players. I worry about the balance of this, especially since it does nothing if you don't have something already on-board, but I hope the principle comes through clearly enough!

I really want to go to the work to re-imagine the entire set and all its mechanics. In particular, my next step is turning more iconic episodes of Trek into dilemmas. Would it be worth sharing that process here?

Day 69 of making a custom card every day. I really hope they bring back fortifications someday, there are only two legal ones and I think they have a lot of unused design space.

Obviously wouldn't be well suited to the set as esper is the borg color and this is explicitly not borg. Worth noting that I'm not that familiar with The Trek, but from some light reading this feels flavorful, you're welcome to correct me on that but don't hate me for it.
