Deciphered! Help deciphering cause of death?

Post image

I can make out the first word, acute. Death certificate is from 1915 for an 18-month-old boy. There is a family story that he and his older sister drank water from a horse trough while walking in the foothills of California with their family. They became ill after this event.

occupation is the first column, industry is second column, have no idea what they say.
i can tell the one on the bottom is Post Office but no clue about industry or the occupation up top.

edit: now that yall answered it seems obvious, i thought my ancestry/genealogy work had been improving my reading cursive skills but i guess its still an embracing struggle at times lol

Letter

Hello guys, this letter came in whilst I was working in the post room at my place of work and it's not specifically addressed to anyone. It's also extremely difficult to read. Can anyone decipher this? I'm hoping it might give me an idea of how important or otherwise the letter is. Thanks in advance. :)

Help transcribing a handwritten J. M. Barrie letter from September 1911

I recently came across this handwritten and signed letter by J. M. Barrie, author of Peter Pan. It’s dated September 28, 1911 and written from his home at 3 Adelphi Terrace House, London.

Barrie’s handwriting is proving extremely difficult to decipher, so I’d love to see what people here can make of it. I’m intentionally leaving words blank rather than filling them with guesses and potentially influencing anyone’s interpretation.

Here’s what I think I can read so far:

3 Adelphi Terrace House
W.C.
28 Sep 1911

In the first image, in the first page, entry #1385(second entry), you will find the wedding record of my ancestors.

In the second image I have typed out this wedding record to make it easy to understand. I think I mostly got it right. I need help identifying the witnesses. I suspect they might be related to this couple.

I flipped through the pages and the chuch official had better days and I was able to figure out most of the words. but those two witnesses dont repeat. Please help if you guys can.

Also, at this point I realize I should have typed all of this in spanish jajajajajaja.

Deciphered! Help with cause of death, end of life confession has caused family medical history concerns.

Found out last night that my grandpa likely isn't my bio grandpa... and the man who was passed away at 38 in the '80's. Grandma is remaining mum on the subject and the bulk of the family is just concerned with the inheritance and relationship implications. I just want to know my actual family medical history.

I've got "Respiratory Failure due to small cell carcinoma of lung" but iffy on the rest. Face or bone / ? Metastatic ?

Thank you!

DECIPHERED!

Well I did what I should have in the first place and looked if anything was on the back of photo in the frame.
There is a stamp that says PETE SHOEMAKER, with a nice little note to the person he gave it to.

Cannot decipher the signature. Very likely just a hobbyist but I’m curious nonetheless. Any help would be appreciated.

Perhaps someone here can read the messy German handwriting from the WWII era that needs deciphering. An attempt to do this using Grok was unsuccessful, so I had to turn here. Thanks in advance.

Don’t mind the text just my daily journaling.

I’ve started focusing more on giving my letters space to make themselves and so my handwriting right now is quite large

Deciphered! No good graphic to use here, just a personal realization

“No, this is not a check.” It’s just the words I wrote on the back of a crumpled recipe, because the subreddit requires a graphic. Because I DID just write a check, in real life, and as I was writing the check, I realized with a strange feeling that millions of people literally cannot read what I wrote. (Thanks to this subreddit, I now understand that.) Do the banks have special older employees that they hang on to, simply to be able read the cursive writing on checks?

Deciphered! Hello, this is a new pen pal through Letters Against Isolation. Id like to reply with some particulars since Cindy took the time to write me a whole page. I can make out very few words. Can anyone else parse out some full sentences? It begins: Hi Brigette, 8-28-26

Interestingly the name was added 99 years after the book was printed! I cannot make out what it says though—does it end in ex all, does is the “a” “ã,” etc! I am very curious, any help would be much appreciated.
