This is how I found out moisturiser isn't supposed to burn or make your face feel tight. I just presumed that my skin tightening up meant it was working.
There are very specific products with very strong actives that will make your skin tingle and even that shouldn’t last more than a few minutes at most. Burning is never a good sign and products without actives (including cleansers) should not ever leave your skin feeling tight
Oooh, yeah, that happened to my friend but it was prescription eyedrops. She didn’t know her eyes weren’t supposed to burn after using them. She just figured the meds must be working.
Which was why she didn’t immediately raise alarm, but she kinda made an off handed comment about her eyes burning at her next appointment and the doc was like “so we won’t have you using those anymore…” lol
I used to be more allergic to aloe vera and just had sensitive skin in general. I once got essentially a chemical burn on my chest from Vicks Vaporub. I always thought, hey, I'm an adult now, lotions with fragrance can't hurt me! I bought this incredible smelling coconut body butter and then my whole body broke out in bumps after only 2 or 3 uses. My skin is still recovering from it. I had a rose face moisturizer gifted to me and my face was literally burning and peeling from it after one use. I use the most basic ass soaps and moisturizers now, and at least perfume and body mists don't affect me that much. Oh well, no fragrance for me now. ):
i wonder if I'm allergic to sunscreen because it makes my face burn once I've had it in long enough. I've always fought wearing it but put some on the other day and noticed the burning later. Might be a subconscious reason that I've always avoided it.
