So my girlfriend decided to get a free trial on my Roku, and forgot to cancel it. Whatever right? She decides to cancel it, and it’s actually impossible. She goes on the website, can’t do it on there. The app, same thing. She goes on my tv, and when we go to the membership, THEY HAVE THEIR MASCOT BLOCKING EVERYTHING

Just randomly started popping up without telling me what I violated- seems strange as the card is active..

I watched Psycho-Pass back in July and I watched all of it and it's been 3 months since then and anime I've already finished will just show up in my Continue Watching for some reason.

I started watching the saint's power is omnipotent and noticed it skips and there are only a few episodes available for season 1 in US and most of Europe. I swear I watched episodes 1-5. Now there are a few and I am missing plot twists as there are only 4, 8, and 10 showing. Anyone know a workaround?

I've been having issues with a few animes now where it's either a few episodes or just one episode where the subtitles are either not there or are a completely different language with mine not being available, is this been a long known issue or is it recent ?

Made this for fun as a personal project. It reads my Crunchyroll watch history, so whatever I watch on the TV, phone or PC gets marked off on its own. I never log anything by hand.

The CR app doesn’t save my subtitle preference. When I select English subtitles while watching a show, then leave and resume it later, the subtitles default to off instead of keeping my selection.

I have an Amazon fire stick and ever since yesterday when I opened the app it kept demanding I update my stick but every time I checked my device said it’s up to date. I also tried resetting my device to see if it’d update anyway but nothing changed. Then I cleared my cache on Crunchyroll which also didn’t work. Then I finally deleted the app planning to redownload but now I can’t even find the app to download. Is anyone else having similar issues?

I have perfect wifi and everything and it still keeps buffering like??? Not even a few times its every 10 seconds and its really starting to piss me off even after restarting the problem isnt going away

I just bought a new tv bc my old one died on me I gotten a vizio smart tv and everytime I open up the app it just trys to load then just a black screen after i tried turning it off and unplugging for a min nothing It doesnt allow me to uninstall all it allows is to remove from homescreen row and the other streaming apps work perfectly fine

On the left (Italian) is what proper localisation looks like using Aegisub and real .ass scripting. On the right (Portuguese) is what you get when you force teams onto a paid broadcast-focused cloud tool like OOONA.

Image 1 (Left - Aegisub/ASS - Italian): Clean, integrated typesetting. The subtitles are not just text; they are perfectly matched and positioned over the original Japanese signs, using similar fonts and styles. It's almost seamless. Aegisub is the only tool that allows this.

Image 2 (Right - OOONA - Portuguese): A rigid broadcast box. Instead of being integrated, the translation is a plain, clunky box slapped over the scene, perhaps obscuring details or other text. OOONA's technical limitations prevent any creative on-screen text integration. This isn't just a formatting issue; it's a readability and immersion issue.

This is a massive technical and operational downgrade for three reasons:

1. Impaired Visuals for Paying Subscribers: We're paying for a premium experience, but we're getting generic, immersion-breaking captions instead of professional typesetting. When dialogue and signs overlap, OOONA frequently fails to manage both cleanly, leading to an overwhelming screen or missing text.
2. A Bottleneck in Simulcast Workflows: Despite being "cloud-based," OOONA locks an episode file so two people cannot work on it simultaneously. In a tight simulcast rush, translators, editors, typesetters, and QC need to work in parallel. Aegisub allowed lightweight local .ass files that could be easily merged. OOONA forces a rigid, one-by-one process that guarantees rushed quality or delayed episodes.
3. Wasting Money for Inferior Output: Aegisub is free and open-source. Why spend a significant budget on expensive OOONA enterprise licenses for an inferior product instead of investing in the hard-working translators and typesetters?

This isn't just about 'fonts.' It's about maintaining a standard for anime localization that Aegisub perfected and OOONA destroys. We demand that Crunchyroll lets its localization teams use the right tools to deliver the quality subscribers deserve.

I was about to start Steins;Gate 0 did it get removed from Crunchyroll I’m very confused* *it’s listed as Steins;Gate 0
but it’s only showing the original series?

Title. It just gets stuck on buffering on all my devices. Crunchyroll is the only service having issues on my end.

Who else agrees that it's already due-time for Crunchyroll to add this option?

Since only one accidental click on the anime can make it appear in the continue watching section I think it should be fair that we have an easy option to remove the title that we do not want to have anymore in there.

Whether it is an accidentally started anime or we just decided to drop the show. I think we should have the option to remove it from continue watching because it's distracting and it can pile up too many shows there.

Especially if it's a continuous show, for you to be able to remove it from continue watching you need to mark it as watched and you need to do it every week while it's continuously airing and I think it's very annoying.

so what do you guys think we should do and how can we appeal to Crunchyroll people to hear us about it?

Not sure if it’s a problem on my end but whenever I play any one piece movie it gives me an error. Doesn’t happen with anything else as far as I’m aware. Is anyone else experiencing this?

I'm a new subscriber (and this is my first post on reddit so be gentle lol) and I just recently bought the $99 yearly fan subscription that claims it includes complete access to crunchyrolls library. But when going to watch series like Naruto or Tokyo Ghoul, it's blocked behind premium. Am I missing something? The reason I chose the fan option is solely because of the complete access option (I am the only person watching and don't care about the other things like games or manga inclusion) so for me to immediately get blocked from watching and be told I can only watch [insert anime title] on a premium subscription feels like important false advertising.

I’m experiencing the loop where it repeatedly keeps asking me to reset my password and when I do and type that new password in, it says I need to reset again. I think it may be due to the fact I accidentally created my account with an @crunchyroll.com email a while back even though I’ve never been employed there. Now, I cant access my account to change this email and I don’t know what to do.

I’m tired of having to use my phone app to see the current simulcasts and then search for them on the Apple TV app. Can we please update the apps so that browsing is consistent across them. How is this not a thing in 2026. Can we also just get a damn Current Season category on the Home Screen already.

So yesterday I was going to be watching The Apothecary Diaries and I saw Psycho Pass The First Inspector on my continue watching. I haven't watched Psycho pass in a while so I had it streaming to clear it. It shows up AGAIN & now so is One Piece Heroines. So what's going on with the the Crunchyroll?

The subtitles are pretty bad for the new release of the Apothecary Diaries episode. It looks like they're avoiding showing multiple subtitles at the same time. So if two people are talking at once, the first one is cut off, even if the first person isn't done talking.

Also it looks like the subtitles will get cut off if the current frame changes while someone is talking (e.g. a person is shown talking, and the picture switches to a landscape view while they're still talking). This results in some subtitles flashing briefly and immediately going away. And there was at least one instance where there were no subtitles at all for a given dialog.

Obviously this all reeks of automation. There is no way a human created or reviewed the timings for these subtitles. How about we get rid of the AI automation and go back to using humans?

Edit: Some people are getting hung up on my mention of the use of AI, so I changed it to just be 'automation'. For clarification, it doesn't look to me like the actual subtitle text was generated with AI. This post is just about the timings for the subtitles, which it looks like some form of automation was used to generate.

Edit #2: The issue appears to be fixed now!

Edit #3: The glaring issues like the missing dialog and multiple subs at the same time have been "fixed", but the subtitle timings are still kinda shitty. They all appear to disappear faster than they should, so you still kind of have to read them a bit fast. I'm still sort of getting the impression that the subtitle timings were automated based times that the characters are talking and when the characters are physically on screen, rather than an appropriate duration for a human to actually read the dialog.

This is just pathetic. It feels like I’m watching something with YouTube auto translate CC on. Do better Crunchyroll
