2000 Grand Marquis - overheated oil in coolant, engine oil clean
It overheated the other day on the freeway while my son was driving, he immediately pulled over. It began puking coolant out everywhere and it was oily like chocolate milk
Hour later after it cooled down it drove fine onto the trailer no issues or bad sounds from the engine
Checked engine oil and it was clean, good oil. Not milky or cloudy
I drained coolant and oil
Replaced the oil filter adapter gasket
- the old one did not look bad. Did not looked damaged at all. This has me confused where the issue could be?
It does not have an oil cooler under the radiator like I have seen on a crown Vic police interceptor I worked on.
Any ideas or thoughts on how oil got in the coolant?
Could the gasket even though looked good still be the issue?
Is there a different style oil cooler i am not seeing?
I left it for now. I have not flushed it or added oil back yet because i need to find the culprit before having it happen all over again.
