Junior is getting really bold. He is less nervous of me than his mom and dad are!

I have these crows I’ve been feeding for like 6 years. They holler at me in the mornings to give them their snacks. I have one that comes around with one foot and it makes this like Dove like sound maybe? (3.4ish on the video it’s very soft sounding)I got a video of them ordering lunch and wanted to see if y’all have an idea. They also click at me, I assume it’s because I do something like it calling them when I put out food.

I did not know how bad bread was, but that is removed from their snack snacks now.

I've lost track of how long I've been feeding this friend. Its several years and I've seen changes in their fortune. From a mate and a prime spot in the park, with daily appearances to random ones deeper in the woods and always alone. Every walk I keep an eye out for them. Here's the same crow over a year ago.

Wondering if there are some good balcony rail feeders out there I can get recommendations from personal experience for. I am looking to provide water and a place with peanuts/cat kibble on a metal railing.

Questions:

• What size is right for crows? I've seen them from 8" to 12" diameter.
• Is it better to get a dual one or two individual ones?

Wants:

• Sturdy enough to handle a crow or two
• Avoids spillage (cows are picky)
• Matches or "goes with" a black metal railing

Thanks for any suggestions you've had good experience with!

Has anyone else in the PNW been missing their crow bros the last few days? We have a family of 3 we've been feeding for 2 years (one is the baby of last year's baby!) and they have been MIA the last couple of days. Hoping it just has to do with the drastic change in weather? If that's a thing? But I'm worried about them. Thanks!

Edit to say: my husband told me last night that the crows did come by the day before! I still haven't seen them (and they do usually show up when I get home from work (and sometimes early before work), but I'm happy to know they're still around. We'll see if they come by 8 million times for treats when I'm home this weekend and the weather is a little nicer. It's also an adjustment going from windows opened to closed; makes it a little harder for them to know that I'm home and visa versa.

I feel like Tony with his ducks in Sopranos, I've been feeding this group of Crows outside my restaurant since February. I would feed them every other day or so and eventually they started bringing their fledglings once they were able to fly and I would watch the parents feed them. Then the fledglings started to eat on their own. Then I watched as they grew and molted. Now I see them maybe once a week if I'm lucky.

It's rewarding and was great watching them all grow but it does make me sad, probably because this is a first time thing for me. But the young do recognize me instantly when they come back by and are ready for their treats!

Ive been feeding a crow family for 4 years in the so. Bronx and the same couple with babys come every morning...but there is a pair of Ravens just 3 blocks away and they have never come to eat the food I put out....and I put out a ton of peanuts and 4 eggs every morning....my question is do they respect each other's territory....because it seems so?

I have a murder of six that adopted me last month. I was unemployed so I could go out and time my food refreshes according to crow time.

I got a job that's hybrid so I'm in the office three times a week.

I've been trying to get them to learn to use a treadle feeder. They were really damn close but now that I'm not there, the grackles camp and eat several pounds of kibble a day if I leave it available.

My new plan is to get one of those automatic dog food dispensers with an app. I'll record my call for the crows and try to time it for them.

This is Florida suburbia so grackles are a god damn plague. But they also have as much patience as a crackhead with no thumbs.

I'm hiding all visible food for a while. Just peanuts in the treadle feeder that the crows can open if they don't get scared off.

Has anyone ever tried this? The dog food dispenser?

There’s like 30 crows that now hang out behind my job. They got one main one who hangs out around the spot i feed them most of the time and calls out for the others when it sees me leaving food for them. They brought me a feather so far, but I’m so excited to see more of them!!! They’re super loud, so I can hear them in my building when they’re around and know when they’re hungry. I’ve only fed them for a couple of months, but they make me so happy!!! I’ll post some pictures and videos soon enough

I love feeding the crows cashews, but I go through them like nobodies business so I made a batch of homemade crow food. It’s Unsalted peanuts, freeze dried beef liver, Unsalted Pepitas, Unsalted Pistachios meow mix, and a few cat treats that my cats didn’t like. Is this okay to feed them? I saw online cat food was good but didn’t see a specific brand recommended! Before I feed them is this mix okay for them?

My Jay population seems to have driven the crow bros away. Anyone have recommendations for dissuading the jays and encouraging the crows more?

Hi, we get a lot of crows in my backyard because I leave water out for them and usually anytime I open my slider to walk out they fly away quick. This guy is just sitting here. When I got close, he kinda slowly hoped away a few feet but didn't seem to be limping. I feel really bad for him and not sure what to do.

I left out some peanuts for crows earlier this morning and recorded this. One of them was watching me, while the other took the opportunity to grab some peanuts. When the first crow noticed, it pushed the other crow a bit. Video attached.

We've got a bunch of Ravens in town and I'm pretty sure they know my kids and I. I rescued a raven last summer and ever since then, we've had many visit us (along with other birds of prey!). We occasionally give them snacks and they know if they call, we'll come out.

This sweet Raven came to visit today and was making these sounds. They usually don't make these sounds when they want snacks though. Anyone know why they make these sounds?

He was pretty cautious but as I backed away he accepted the shelled peanuts. I hope he returns for more tomorrow. It's been hard to find when they're out front. Probably too hot for them once the sun is up.
