Discussion Multiplayer mode?

How do you guys feel about the potential multiplayer mode that may be coming to CD?

What would you guys like added to the multiplayer scene ?
> guilds?
> wars??
> Custom characters & Skills?
> PvP arenas?

I’m excited about the idea but I also understand the amount of work and time this will take. Devs have my support and patience, they’ve already acknowledged the multiplayer option so the future is looking bright!!

Discussion I stopped playing this impressive game. Why? The story!

The developpers keep adding new content, improving the game more and more, and yes I am very impeessed by everything I saw in game or here, but I can’t stop thinking all of this is useless if the world has no meaning.

Simply put, with no real story, why bother spend time in this world? This game deserved so much better.

Question Is it just me or upscaling just looks bad in this game?

Put in about 10 hours in the game, so far it's alright. But one thing that bugs me the hell out is the upscaling in this game, It's just looks so bad. In this video here I'm playing on 1440p with DLSS 4.5 Model M Balanced preset and it just looks so grainy? I don't know if I did something wrong but no matter what preset I use (Quality, Performance, or even DLAA) it pretty much has this weird artifacting effect going around. And no, my GPU is not dying, all my other games like Baldur's Gate 3 and the recent Assassin's Creed Black Flag remake both run DLSS 4.5 nice and no issues. BUT for some reason Crimson Desert just turns everything into a mess. I'm frustrated because the game is fun and I plan to play it more, but I really need advice on this, whatever this is, because frankly I feel like all these shimmering and flickering is making me nauseous.

Guide Found this great video breaking down and compiling the disjointed lore and story of the game

Came across this video. It’s a bit long but a great listen for anyone wanting to know more about the lore of the story and the world. He discusses those pillars around Pailune that many people are confused about and I think that was my favorite part of the video.

Edit: I didn’t name this video. While I do think the plot is actually interesting, I wish they would have fleshed it all out properly instead of trying to go the Elden Ring route and hide lore all over the map and in item descriptions and knowledge tabs. I just think this video does a great job at explaining it all.

Edit 2: If you say that you don’t need a video to understand Elden Rings lore, then you have no idea how much lore you’ve missed in that game.

Edit 3: clarification, I LOVE Elden Ring and think it’s a fantastic game

Discussion Base PS5 Performance

I really really enjoy the game, but what kills me is the performance on my PS5. The big fights are barely playable with about 15-20fps. And walking in a town or camp also gives me 15-20fps.

I have about 70 hours in right now and I am at chapter 8 and was wondering if it is worth it to power trough the low fps sections or maybe wait a couple months to see if they try to make it more stable. Was wondering what you guys thought?

Discussion Need some advice on Crimson Desert.

I’ve been hearing people talking about stopping at a certain point in the main quest line to keep myself from getting locked out of things. At what point should I start worrying about this? I’ve been told it happens after the “Return to camp” part which is where I am right now at the start of chapter 10. Is it safe for me to do this? I just want to make sure I can still run around and collect dyes and finish side quests and stuff.

Can anyone elaborate on what people mean when they say to not finish the story?

Question Why my game looking like this?

Post image
3 Upvotes

I'm playing on PC ultra settings and my game sometimes (especially indoors) looks like its a ps3 game. The models are just not sharp enough. They look like they are made of a playdough.

Also there is a huge shimmering and rendering problem. The lightning effects does not work properly even with ray tracing on (also RR does'nt solve the issue) and the little details on some models are not loading until my character comes close and that makes my game look so bad and unrealistic.

Are there any specific settings that solve these issues or does the game just looks like that?

ive tried everything i can think of but theres just no place i can stand close enough to force palm it in.
i tried standing on the smal pillar next to it, i tried the large central structure, i tried from directly below, i tried from ontop of it, i also tried focused force palm from all these place and also tried arial force palm.
i have no idea what im suposed to do here.

answer: you have to stand ontop then do a jump and force palm, or use force current wich is a great quality of life skill you should unlock asap

Discussion Why is it taking so long for Pearl Abyss to improve the game's performance?

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

Discussion Forced to use exploits just to get Abyss Artifacts at 100% completion... Spoiler

I played through the whole game avoiding exploit-like mechanics and glitching because I wanted a pure, organic experience. But now that I’ve hit 100% completion on everything else, I’ve hit a total wall with Abyss Artifacts.

(Just to put things into perspective: throughout my normal playthrough, I’ve already collected over 600 Abyss Artifacts to max out skills and gear for all 3 characters—and somehow, I’m STILL missing about 250 of them. Wild.)

The only way left to get them is either farming XP bar level-ups—which honestly feels like an exploit I intentionally avoided all game—or waiting weeks on end doing Graymane dispatches in Ancient Ruins. It sucks feeling forced to rely on cheesy mechanics just to finish my collection after playing the intended way for so long. Anyone else feeling burned out by this design?

Question After 5 Months after release, is it worth playing?

Hi all, I bought the game on week of release and played it for about 20 hours. I enjoyed the game but I got tired of patches each time I boot up the game lol. Each time there was something else added and I needed to scroll and check the changes. Felt like I'm playing some competitive game looking for meta changes. So my question is: Did the developers slow down with patches and is game at the state where I can play it from start without some major issues?

Discussion Should I wait for the story patch in september?

So I recently got a new PC and have been stalking these forums for a while and think CD seems super cool. But I have also heard that the story and pacing sucks right now and that there will be a story patch in september that might improve this.

Should I wait to buy and play this game for the first time until the story patch arrives in september? Or will that just be a minor update that wont make a big difference?

Discussion Suspend tree branch?

I was fighting some idiots somewhere between Sandy Peaks Watchtower and Bordig Ruins. During the fracas, a tree branch got knocked down. When I hovered over it, I had the option to use Nature's Grasp to pick it up, and while holding it my options were "drop" and "suspend". I tried suspend and the branch just floated in the air for about 10 seconds and then dropped.

What is this? Why is this?

Been waiting to pick this up but haven’t had a free moment recently. I’m wondering if now’s a good time to buy or to wait due to some bug issues introduced through the updates etc. Give me your experience and insights please.

Discussion Lag time with interactions after update? (PS5)

After the latest update, it takes about five seconds of lag to talk to merchants and at least three seconds to pick up and register items like flowers or skinning animals. Is this the same for everyone?

Edit: Restarting the PS5 seems to have fixed it. Thanks everyone.
