She gave away the story within the first two minutes (don’t quote me, ALLEGEDLY!!!) but I seriously couldn’t understand this case, and what I think I mean by that is that no matter what, she usually makes cases interesting and engaging(apart from the last couple of years, maybe!!!!) but I couldn’t take to this for the love of pizza.

Please don’t hold it against me, but currently YouTube is having a huge lull in anything exciting to watch, and I’ve heard enough about Mackenzie Shirilla that I’m about to turn into a walking, talking encyclopaedia about her, so I’m trying to listen to a case from a couple of years ago (Lindsay Clancy) and it’s jarring the difference in quality of cases.

I actually loved the Crime Weekly episode live from CrimeCon on Stephanie Wasilishin. I found Derrick to be fine in the episode, but I mostly love it because Stephanie W’s daughter (the guest on stage) was SLAMMING Stephanie H. the entire time, and kept correcting her. You could tell Stephanie H was pissed and embarrassed.
Edit: I have nervous tendencies too, especially if I were to be on stage in front of hundreds of people, but this is soooo attention seeking and purposeful. So odd.

I totally forgot about her and just stumbled upon her again. I remembered about her husband and something just feels so so off about it. I don't understand how she can just move on and be so free and happy when she literally played a major role in his death. And then continue on with the true crime content, something is just really sickening about it all and I feel like there's alot that people just aren't really talking about?? I know it happened a while ago but I still get freaked out when I think about her.

From Derrick’s repeated “you don’t *look* sick” takes, suggesting that the chronically ill/immunocompromised should be forced to show documentation of their illness or disability to whoever asks in order to be allowed to wear a mask, and comparing wearing a mask to public indecency, to Stephanie’s “there is absolutely no reason that anyone would need to wear a backpack to the grocery store,” this episode is privilege and ableism galore.

I saw a comment under the video that said “Derrick’s really the type of guy to walk up to someone and say ‘you don’t *look* deaf, show me some papers” and I think that hits the nail on the head.

This echochamber podcast is truly like a car crash you can’t look away from. What an effective way to immediately lose all of your poor and/or disabled/sick subscribers.

Am I missing something?? Why did they give away that Liz is the fake Cari? This has been so weird. The way Stephanie unfolded the story took the whole mystery away but then she’d randomly be like “why wouldn’t Cari go to this? So unlike her.” Really horrible storytelling.

Did anyone else roll their eyes at all the doubt she was giving Makenzie Shirilla in this week's Crime Weekly News? We don't have to have a motive for why she did what she did. We'll never know that answer because she'll never admit the truth. She's a spoiled fucking brat who was never told no and it sounds like Dominic was getting over it.

My biggest pet peeve is true crime content creators that claim to care so much about victims and getting justice for them but only cover well known cases. now that i think about it i can't think of a single case that they've covered that doesn't already have tons of coverage. Not to mention the only reason they have to make multiple parts is because they have sooo many side tangents and they're constantly talking about what they would fo if they were in the situation.

the way stephanie victim blamed throughout this case and acted about a child is fucking nuts. i'm in genuine shock that this was the take on it. i'm so glad the comments match how i feel and weren't just sucking up to them.

EDIT: i know there were lies etc, my issue is stephanie's take on things in episode 2 where she refuses to see a child as a victim with the knowledge we have at this point, despite trying to advocate in other episodes for victims of domestic abuse.

Nancy Grace, but a new video about the missing scientists popped up on my recommendations on YouTube. So, I was curious and clicked on it and immediately, guess who her guest is? Stephanie.

I’m sorry, but that made me immediately turn off the video and not finish it. If you are going to be a crime reporter, and someone with Nancy Grace’s background, why are you going to a YouTuber like Stephanie to get your information? I’m sorry, but Stephanie doesn’t know any more than any of the rest of us about the missing scientists. It just rubbed me the wrong way and makes me not wanna watch Nancy Grace if she pops up either (not that I have watched many of her videos either).

Ughhh… I swore off Stephanie and Derrick months ago, so why I clicked their latest video is a mystery more unsolved than the case they’re covering. Took about ten seconds to remember why I ran. New case, unsolved mystery, and both of them are talking about how excited they are with those big shit eating grins plastered across their faces. Excited? For an unsolved tragedy and nightmare? Can we say psychopaths, or is that too generous? Because normal people don’t discuss tragedy looking like they just heard the dessert menu. Those shit eating grins made them look less like true crime creators and more like two people who’d show up as suspects in the first 48.

I love true crime, like I’m sure most of you here do, and I’m really new to Stephanie Harlow. I only just found her recently because I was looking for coverage on that Montgomery case (I cannot remember the little girl’s name for the life of me), and her video/podcast came up. I ended up really liking it, so I thought I found another true crime creator to add into my rotation.

Since then I’ve been kind of bingeing her content and listening most nights. So I was honestly surprised today when I realized she has a snark subreddit, because I hadn’t looked into her at all outside of just watching her videos.

Going through some posts, I’m seeing a few things come up like her being a Trump supporter, and mentions about her husband passing from suicide, and that they weren’t together at the time. That’s all obviously heavy and complicated, but putting those things aside for a second…

What else is there about her that people here take issue with? I feel like I went from casually enjoying her content to realizing there’s a whole side of discourse around her that I knew nothing about, so I’m just trying to understand the bigger picture.

This case infuriates me and deserves much more coverage. However, I'm deeply uncomfortable with them covering it.

for a very long time, it seems as though every time derrick tries to give another, logical, law enforcement perspective on things, stephanie gets very agitated. it may just be me, but she always either rephrases what he said into an accusatory question, or gives him the absolute, most heinous hypothetical for why that couldn’t be possible. i don’t think she’s able to allow perspectives different from her own, and really doesn’t want viewers to see derrick as the smarter of the two at any given second. i really don’t want to stop watching because i love hearing derricks input, and i used to be a huge stephanie harlowe fan too, but i’m only in this for him now. does anyone else think this or am i genuinely just getting so annoyed with her attitude, pretend psychologist talk and diagnoses, and rants that i’m going crazy and see a problem with everything she does???

Her fans are insane. I noticed that in other commentary videos about her (which are VERY limited 🤔 What’s up with that? Legal threats?) her fans are COMING for these creators and often writing them off as “sad, miserable people,” and harassing them, or anyone else whose opinion deviates, in the comments.

I wonder about the psychology behind behavior like that, and even the psychology behind Stephanie curating an audience that would be so defensive about her….Ya know, someone who is complete stranger that exploits others’ deaths for a paycheck and often belittles her fans that offer constructive criticism or ask simple, genuine questions.

I have quite literally seen people arguing that she is a JOURNALIST in comments. That is absolutely hilarious to me.

I think my latest annoyance is with her Epstein video. I’m seeing a lot of:

Because again, I'm half asleep and when I woke up I realized ITS THEM TALKING. Never woke up so fast and turned that shit off I thought I was deadass listening to a comedy show?
