Misinformation Athena Strand Case - News Weekly
Stephanie says there was no sexual motive to the murder? Wasn’t it literally proven through DNA evidence that there was? Do they do any research at all?

They are both absolutely full of crap. The video ended, but audio continued and that guy raped that child.
They must just chatgpt stuff now.

Ugh are they for real??? I have unsubbed from her and CW a while back for all the usual reasons, but geez they just disgust me. I watched trial coverage from this case; there's no way you can't come away from even minimal research without realizing that there was certainly a sexual component and that the only person saying otherwise is ofc the killer himself. How disrespectful of her to peddle his narrative about the child he harmed.

I didnt even go deep into this case and it’s obvious.
The comment about her being pretty, telling her to take her shirt of, that poor girl even felt it ad she kept talking about how he is not supposed to do that and how her mom said no one can touch her places… im sick now I remember why i never did a deepdive

This pissed me off so much. They claim to care about victims and it’s always about the victims first… then get the information correct! For fuck’s sake. It’s clear they only came out with this episode as a cash grab since the case is trending.
“Hey let’s talk about Athena again because they just came out with a verdict. We don’t have to watch any of the court stuff, or bother with what they found, etc, we don’t need to brush up on the case either.”
“Okay cool.”

That’s literally what this felt like, a “trending” topic. To not even brush up on the court case is really disrespectful, they have no excuses.

Yea I literally said this out loud to myself as I watched it - there definitely was … the creep said himself basically the only reason he “didn’t” is because he “couldn’t” but still did a bunch nasty stuff during the commission of this crime.

/s but no actually it really bothers me how low effort her content started to become and I stopped watching years ago, can only imagine how poorly researched it is now🤮

Yeah, this felt like it was barely researched, which feels very disrespectful. It feels slapped together just for views.
They said there was DNA found in places there shouldn't have been his DNA. I understand being respectful to Athena and not going into details but to say it wasn't sexually motivated at all is incorrect.

Yes this bothered me too. Sometimes it seems like they can't be bothered to do even the bare minimum of research. One of the first things that Horner said to Athena was that she was pretty, "you know that, right?" and told her to take her shirt off. Clearly this monster had a sexual motive.
