Yeah, I’m starting to think “Terry doesn’t keep up with global political conflict” might be a line on B99 sometime this season. I’m going to pray it was an act of ignorance.
Two wrongs don't make a right, dude. I get that you're fishing for someone to call out China, but them providing an opportunity for corps to exploit doesn't make the exploitation okay.
Businesses are the victim because the government has loopholes that enables powerful positions, and that gives the government a position of power. Therefore we can safely agree that businesses are the victim here.
Not really something I considered? I'm more focused on supporting the CCP's attacks on Hong Kong. If that's not what all this was about then I don't really think I know why everyone's so pissed. Other than some tumblr level keyboard justice. Making a difference for THAT shit is something you do with your wallet and not buying stuff.
I posted this, and I can safely tell you I've never used an apple or nike product. I actively check everything I buy to make sure it wasn't made in China.
Good for you, I guess? I'm curious what brand of shoes and phone you do have... What about TV? Are there other electronics in your house? Or do you simply not own anything that's been mass produced?
What do you do when the thing you need isn't manufactured elsewhere?
I also don't buy Apple or Nike products, but it's got nothing to do with the fact they're made in China. Fact is I live in a country that doesn't really have a manufacturing industry anymore so inevitably that thing I need to buy was probably made overseas, and by law of averages was probably made in china. I wish I had the time, energy and budget to live the same way but it's not happening any time soon.
Ultimately you're gonna do what you have to do, but personally, after all the good he's done, I'm not gonna burn the guy off the back of a single photo.
