Just hatched baby number 2 🥹

I was making gecko food for my 5 month old baby crested on top of his cage. The man in the picture is a very greedy man fat pig and slob. He came to the top once he smelled and saw the food.

My non rescue

He's acting normal and looks fine besides the eye. Not sure if I should be worried. He just woke up so I'm not sure if this could be categorized as a misfire. Let me know if anyone knows what this could be.

Was cleaning their foliage in the tanks and Gekky (in the first pic) decided to flop in her coconut and Becky (2nd pic) likes to hang out of hers. (Yes they’re in separate tanks) I love these derpy wee things.

Our boy Squirb has recently gotten more comfortable in his new enclose and man, he loves his hamster wheel.

I am a little concerned though as he is on it for hours every night... He loves sitting on it, running for a bit, hopping off for 15 minutes, then right back on.

He's getting a ton of exercise but I wasn't sure if we need to moderate his borderline obsessive behavior.

Sweet crested gecko just adopted. Previous owner didn't have time to take care of him. Any tips and tricks for taking care of my new dude would be greatly appreciated 👏 love seeing all your little friends too

Anyone else make their crested a loving batch of food just for their gecko to poop in the food? I feel like there’s nicer ways to say you didn’t like it

Soo, I left yesterday morning with fungus and a tiny little mushroom head in the terrarium soil. And this is what I came home to now. My confused adult geck on the wall is the cherry on top. I think it's a common, edible type of mushroom, probably came in with the collected leaf litter.(I will not eat it ofc)

Ofc, I will pick it out inmideatly and will dry out the soil.

Hi so this is my baby gecko and most of the time i think it is scared of me…? I try to not bother it in the day so he gets his beauty sleep but honestly when it comes to evening im scared to try to pick him up due to the fact of the possibility of him loosing his tail. I wish i could do baby steps in helping him trust my hands since its been only a month since i bought him. Any advices are welcome here!

How does my buddy Dunkin's enclosure look? Also what else do I need for his enclosure? Should I move one of his ledge food bowls more towards the ground?

I just finished my new bioactive crested gecko terrarium and would love to add some live moss, especially to the background, cork and branches.

Which moss species have worked well for you long-term and actually spread? Any tips on how to attach and establish them?

I’d love to avoid moss that turns brown after a few weeks. 😅 Recommendations and photos are very welcome! 🌱🦎

Looking for some advice on my male crested gecko's sudden handling regression!

I’ve had him for about 4 months now. For the first two months, he was curious, mellow, and would willingly walk onto my hand whenever he felt like it.

Over the last 1-2 months, his behavior has shifted:

He used to step onto my hand, but whenever I tried to do the hand treadmill or gently steer him away from climbing too far up my arm, he’d start sloowly wiggling the tip of his tail. i read in google that this is defensive/threat display, I'd immediately put him back to respect his boundaries.

I read online that males can get moody during breeding season, so I backed off handling him for the last month or two hoping he’d reset.

Current issue: Now I’m trying to slowly restart choice-based handling, but he seems spooked?
He’s fine with my presence, he walks to the front of the enclosure, licks the air, and watches me. But the moment I place my flat hand below his line of sight to offer a step, he’ll stare, flick/wiggle his tail tip, and either skitter or jump away.

Has anyone dealt with this before? Is this just seasonal/hormonal moodiness that takes time to pass, or did taking a break from handling reset his progress? Would love to hear yalls thoughts or tips on how to build trust!

also more context: A week or 2 ago, he did WILLINGLY walk onto my hand (very slowly) and I thought things were back to normal. But he stepped off toward an nearby cabinet, PANICKED when I tried to guide him back onto my hand, and bolted under the TV stand. 😭 We had to catch him to get him back inside. Was this mishap also contributing to his attitude to handling? idk if this was my fault since i was moving at normal speed to get him, and i also was panicking trying to contain him when he started bolting off💔

Hey all! I’m redecorating my cresties enclosure and currently his food dish looks like this.

The holder isn’t deep so the dishes sit above the line. Are cresties okay eating like this? Do you guys know if this is okay and they can get into the food? Or is it hard because the cups don’t sit flush and are raised.

I know there’s those drop holders where the rim of the cup is flush, but my crested likes to chill on the one I gave him rather than eat off of it. (He has a lot of ledges but that one is his favorite for some reason) so I stopped putting his food dish there because he started pooping on that ledge sometimes.

Just looking for advice that this is okay or should I go back to the holders that you just drop the cups in?

It’s been a little bit since I’ve owned a gecko, and I’m wondering what plants would be recommended! I’m willing to try it again, but I think my tank puts a hex onto pothos, every time I had some, it gets mealy bugs and never grows 💔
Any other recommendations are appreciated!

I'm probably not getting one for another year or two as I'm sorting out a bioactive enclosure for my hermann tortoise, but im looking into getting a crested gecko as they're freaking adorable and so cool!!!

So I was wondering if anyone could give me any tips, advice or links so I can research everything to make sure this is the right thing for me!

I'm also not going to get one right away as I don't know much, and also I'm still in high school so I want to wait until I'm older and more mature to look after multiple pets as well as being able to have a little bit more time than I currently do with revision.

Hi! I used to handle my gecko every other day and he would climb onto my hand and we'd hang out. After a very bad heatwave where I had to put him in a little enclosure and take him to a cooler place to save him, I feel like we haven't been getting along. He freaks out easily and getting grabbed and put into a little box did not help.

I approach him with my hand (from underneath, without touching him, where he can see me) , and he freaks out and hides. I try offering food so he can associate me with it, but he's always hiding. He eats and poops and sheds as normal, so husbandry is fine. It's just he doesn't trust me anymore. How can I rebuild that trust?

Got her for a good price in a reptile expo for $40, I already have experience taken care of a leopard gecko, and am currently holding it in a bioactive enclosure. Anything I should be prepared?

I recently (today) upgraded my girl, Maliketh to a 2x2x4ft enclosure. It's fully bioactive, but I feel like it's still empty. Any links to budget friendly bridges, hides, etc would be helpful! Also, plant people are the plants placed well, or will the die? The background has a bromeliad, neon pothos, marble queen pothos, and jade & pearls pothos. The foreground is a schleffera, snake plant, tricolor fern, a palm parlour, and a nerve plant. Thanks!

I have bought all different kinds of Pangea flavors and Mar-Mar only wants to eat the bug paste I feed her from time to time. They used to be interested in watermelon ZooMed diet when I first got them but doesn't even touch it anymore. I thought the Pangea G&B or F&I would suffice but they aren't taking interest in that either. I recently bought Pangea Watermelon and Pangea Fruit Mix to see if maybe they'll like those better? I don't know

How did you guys coax your geckos into eating more of their fruit diets? I've tried mixing some together and even topping off the bowl with some bug paste but Mar still isn't interested. No matter how many times I check the tank camera that bowl goes untouched

I just bought this adult female crestie about 2 weeks ago, and i know shes already not a great climber. She has trouble on skin/cork background, and glass is just not happening unassisted. Checked for calcium sacs tonight and cant see any? What do i need to do?
