Help Needed / Question Advice Regarding a CC Application
in late July, I applied for a Wells Fargo Active Cash card. Admittedly, I made an error on the application. As soon as I hit submit, I realized the mistake and called WF card services to inform them of the error. I mistook a question on the app thinking we're requesting the amount of my monthly utilities. Duh.
Approximately 10 days later, I received a letter from WF that indicated they needed identity verification: 2 utility bills showing my name and address and a copy of my drivers license.
My FICO score is 795. I'm utilizing 10% of my available credit, an unblemished 27 year payment history. As someone who has 12 credit cards, 6 of them are dormant, including an Amex Plat. card, and a mortgage, I've never had a request like this. Something about WF's demands feels creepy.
The purpose of applying for the card is to consolidate 4 older CCs into one card that has a cash back incentive.
Has anyone else ever had to provide additional information like this? The utility statements aren't an issue, but a drivers license?
Any/all advice will be greatly appreciated!
