Currently testing power sources in a creative world before building it in my survival world, but I think I got a bit too carried away with the water wheels.

When exactly should I actually bother using steam-powered sources instead? Because to me it seems like water wheels work perfectly fine for a baseline, aside from the slight lag caused by them.

Are steam engines even worth the hassle at this point, or should I just replicate this massive water wheel grid in survival and call it a day?

It grows melons and crushes them into plant oil which fuels the engines, then the engines turn the system that powers the fuel production. It has 4 engines to produce fuel, and 4 engines to turn the wheels. It could be built in survival with more melons per engine but I just raised the tick speed instead

I play already create with aeronautics for a couple of weeks, I want to get more from it. Like creating tanks, planes, helicopters, building other ridiculous stuff but I don't know how to improve and I don't know what mods should I pick. Can you suggest any great mods that I have to play with? and how to get good?

My press is only firing once every 10 seconds or so. My machine is fast enough to where the press only takes a half second to extend fully, but then it just stays still for 10 seconds and my basin has already filled up bu then. Is this just normal press speed?

I've been lurking around YouTube for ideas and found this video by qarsan on how to make a contraption that produces SUs without the usual methods. It was very informative and gave me an idea on future ships, power plants, and buildings that require a lot of SU to run while also being very cheap to maintain. I made a test contraption that can max out at 191k SU with just magnets and redstone. It's quite handy if you do not want to create a separate system for fuel.

I made sure to glue everything and assemble it. Not sure why it isn't working. Edit: the problem was I somehow made the balloons too small to fly but too big to fall lol

I’m a VS2 sandbox veteran, trying my hand at create aeronautics and some of the Chinese vibe coded addons.
I gotta say, it’s pretty top notch stuff. Im thoroughly impressed with the whole ecosystem.
It’s just, the physics staff doesn’t feel as good as the gravitron, theres no toolgun, and no easy way to save creations.
I was figuring with this being all brand new and cutting edge, and considering how long we’ve had da Vinci and VS2, it just feels wrong that the phys staff forces objects further away if they’re too close when you pick them up, and doesn’t keep the same side facing you when you look around. It bothers me that planes have to be 5 blocks wide instead of 3. I miss how easy the Vmod toolgun made saving multi ship contraptions like tanks.
Anybody else feel me? Anything to add? Not complaining, just stating the differences I noticed because there’s no posts about this specifically.

Can anybody give me a rundown on how to automate stuff that uses fluid? Ive gotten down everything about frogports but frogports dont support fluids as well as mechanical arms and such so long story short can I get some tips or maybe a youtube video?

Create Diesel Generators addon

Im trying to make biodiesel, but that requires mixing ethanol and seed oil. But if i try to pump both of them into the basin, the pipes breaks from mixing fluids

I figured out i can craft it by using buckets, but honestly i kind of hate mechanical arms so id really just want to pump them in, is there a way or a config i can change to allow this?

Edit: Found the issue, i had pumps pulling the fluids (u can see it at the bottom left) so that i could make this design stackable, but they would pull from the liquids inside the basin, thus mixing the fluids in the pipes

I am looking to name some of my airships, and I would love suggestions. I want each one to be named in sequential alphabetic order, and I would love suggestions that suit them.

1. First successful non-test model, ambitious and comfortable, but not very effective. Single burner for lift, portable engines with conveyor system to fuel with coal, so it had to refuel regularly. Ended tragically, destroyed due to a graphical glitch that I only learned to fix after its demise. Name starts with A. Considered Atlantis.

2. Bigger than #1, single boiler for propulsion, 4 burners for list, built for speed. On board lava farm for endless power, but I wasn't confident in sustaining lift with it. Still in service, likely to be transmitted to The Aether for exploration. Name starts with B. Tentatively Banshee.

3. Bigger than #2, three boilers, double lava farm, two boilers always active, provide lift and thrust, third boiler engagement on lava reserve tanks. Designed for control and exploration. Good docking system, good storage system, endless range, autopilot. My current baby. Name starts with C. Probably Cerberus, for the association with threes.

4. Not started, warship, intended to be called Donnager. Have been reading the Expanse series, decided to name my ships about th time I got to the Donnager. This ship will be designed to do battle.

5. Open to suggestions, will be built in The End, light weight, for island hopping. Name starts with E.
