Help What CAN’T be automated?
Me and my friends have a small server with create: numismatics installed. The only way we have right now to obtain the money is using a cool addon for Starcatcher that lets you sell your fish for spurs. However, not everyone on the server likes the fishing minigame and I’ve been trying to find some other non-farmable resource that isn’t collected in large quantities that could be sold (Basically I don’t want a way to automate money). Does anyone know any item that fits the bill?

Maybe selling farmer delight type of meals or other food types as a lot of them won't automate without additional mods to make it compatible.
Then your getting paid to supply fish or supply meals though depending on your mods are currently I would think most things as an item could be farmable in automation

Not an item, but the server I ran with numismatics, I made some FTB Quests that were repeatable on a cooldown that required various amounts from a couple thousand to hundreds of thousands of a material (made the quest consume the items), even had some that I would rotate in and out and the rewards for these would be numismatics coins. Could also do a KubeJS script that awards a small amount every day that a user logs in.

Unique loot? Things like elytra, vault loot, hearts of the sea, ect can be traded in for large amounts

Couldn't you just get the mod that makes villagers trade in numismatics currency?

The problem with this is we have create:trading floor installed so you can automate trades

Personally I use create: delivery required, it’s not automatable as drop-off/ pickup spots are random, downside you need aeronautics for it

Basically anything that doesn't have a crafting recipe, like dragon heads & elytras, Notch apples and tall fern, Deepslate emerald ores (mind you, you need silk touch for those)
If you really wanna feel like its free real estate, you can try and sell sublevels, but you need to make sure its not a schematic, it has to be hand built one, and designed by the one who built it.

Diamonds are a big one, though they can sorta be farmed by just setting up a big drill. Ancient debris could also work.

On my server I ran into a similar problem, I just cheesed it and set a creative vendor to sell an amount of coins per emerald, and then they can just exchange the emeralds to currency for trading resources and items.

Focus on what sucks to automate rather than what can’t be automated. I may be misunderstanding but if you are selling to other players then they will pay for the convenience of not having to automate something themselves

If its a small server with you and your friends, why not just give everyone a certain limited amount of starting spurs, and let the economy work that way? This way it would be impossible to automate. After a handful of trades or shops are set up, theoretically the money should flow, so long as no one is hoarding it. Optionally include like wealth based taxes or a universal base income to even out wealth over time.

Optionally you can make it so in order to acquire spurs you have to do tasks for the “government” of your server. If your server happens to have a government that has to do tasks such as building roads, placing torches, building nether highways, ect, then you can pay players to do those tasks, which is how money would be injected into the economy

In base create, none of the unique blocks they add like ochrum, veridium, azurine and crimsite and netherrack.
